Recently ate from Hasta La Pasta Katy, not to be confused with Champions! I love to eat Italian food and was really in the mood for some Lasagna until I saw the Arrabbiata. Which is a ravioli with a nice cream sauce and just the right amount of kick for me. I got it Togo and as I'm walking in getting handed my bag with a warm smile and hello! I have ordered from this restaurant many times through doordash. I made the mistake of ordering while 4 months pregnant, spaghetti and meatballs only to find a very light and extremely long piece of hair wrapped in my spaghetti. I immediately threw it up as I disgustedly and unknowingly ingested a piece of it until I felt the length. I will never order again from this place. As a side note, the bag it was delivered in had 3 security seals so there was no way it was the driver and it was already wrapped inside the food. Disgusting!!!!! read more

My first time here at the Katy location, I always go to the one in Spring, unfortunately it's still closed because of the Harvey foods. This place is nothing like the other location, the outside is dirty, there was trash along the outside wall by the entrance, the inside is nothing like the Sitting location, no style no class, anyone can pull some tables in to a room with green concrete floors and throw some pictures on the wall, very disappointing place. Well enough of the place. The food, it was good it was quick, maybe too quick, but tasty. The service, was not that great appetizer and entree arrived at the same time, had to ask for a refill, felt like they wanted to turn the table as fast as possible, couldn't sit and relax enjoy my Italian meal. Ambience, the is not an ounce of romance in this place, for an Italian restaurant, you would expect at least a bit of romantic atmosphere, nope, this place is strictly for families, kids grandparents, the whole family, not for couples. Can't wait for the Spring location to return. The food is 4+ stars, but the rest brings it down to two. Will not return. read more

Great food but was overcharged on purpose. Refused to show us our ticket, and only told us our balance due. Requested to review ticket and found errors. Bartender could not explain the over charges and walked away. Spoke to a manager who said she would handle it and correct our bill, but never did. I had to do a pickup for ubereats here and took a peek at the menu and saw that they had a dish called La Hasta made with jalapeno fettuccini, roasted poblano peppers, and roasted red and yellow bell peppers mixed with a poblano cilantro cream sauce. I had to try it so my husband and I came here for lunch. He had the shrimp Alfredo. Man that pasta was the bomb. The sauce is a tiny bit spicy but so good. Fettuccini wasn't spicy at all as it's made with only the shell of the jalapeño, no seeds. I'm going to be remaking this at home but I'll still be going back! They also serve bread with olive oil and pesto which was also really good. My husband also liked his shrimp Alfredo. I highly recommend eating here! read more

I have been coming to Hasta LaPasta for years now. I loved the food, the serve was great and they supported local high schools too. It was always my go to to fill my Italian cravings. I can say this no more. First and foremost a change in the business model for service. In what I can only believe is an attempt to increase profits table service was eliminated. Now it is a order at a counter, get a number and have it delivered to your table. Personal service and attention are gone but tips are still requested for taking an order and nothing else. Once your order is delivered I hope you speak up right away if you need anything because they gone super quick. Secondly and just as important, the food. The food is not as good as in the past, the portions are smaller but the prices have gone up that's for sure. I do not mind paying for quality food, but this is no longer it. I did not come to this decision on one or two visits since the change but multiple visits. Last night was my last. From what the restaurant was to what it is now is just so disappointing. read more

I've had the pleasure of seeing Hasta La Pasta at work catering an event as well as dining in their restaurant. I have to say they handle their business and their clients with professionalism and courtesy on both fronts and are very impressive to see in action. Catered food for an outdoor event is usually fairly warmish and rather unappetizing. But the folks at Hasta La Pasta kept everything piping hot and efficiently served the crowd without skimping on the portions. The food was still quite good and it made me want to try out other things while dining in. The restaurant is a smaller place but the atmosphere is nice. Like Christopher C., I have a dish I always try first when checking out new Italian restaurants - Chicken Parmesan. My chicken was cooked to perfection. I was presented with a thin and tender bit of breaded chicken that was easy to cut with a fork and the sauce begged to be soaked up with garlic bread once I was finished with the entree. The Cannelloni Bianco is also amazing. Three types of cheese, spinach and chicken fills the pasta. It comes to you dripping with delicious dairy goodness that leaves you scraping the plate at the end of the meal. Apparently, they know how to do Italian right - Hasta La Pasta is expanding throughout Houston now. If you see one open in your neighborhood, give it a try. In my Erykah Badu voice, "Now keep in mind that I'm a [foodie] and I'm sensitive about my [Italian food]" ... so here goes my review. I visited this restaurant for a lunch meeting with a party of 7. Upon entering the restaurant, located in a busy shopping plaza, the table was already nicely set up and it wasn't too crowded inside. I decided to order their signature dish "The Hasta La Pasta" with chicken. For around $11.00 this meal includes freshly baked bread and a salad (not too bad of a price for lunch). The bread came to our table, hot, accompanied with butter and olive oil with spices. It tasted typical of what restaurants offer to patrons before a meal. I ordered the house salad with a honey balsamic vinaigrette dressing which was decent. Now on to the signature dish... This dish had me questioning what was so signature about it? The "signature" cilantro-poblano cream sauce had way too much garlic in it. I could taste the garlic from this dish lingering in my mouth into the late evening. The jalapeno fettuccine had a decent taste but unfortunately the entire dish was a miss because it lacked salt/seasoning. In fact, the entire table was passing around the salt shaker trying to enhance what they could of their dishes of which they ordered. The waiter asked if I would l like freshly grated Parmesan cheese? I said yes and he sprinkled (with a spoon from a small wooden bowl) some over my plate and was ALL UP IN my personal space. This is hands down the best Italian spot in town. Family owned and operated for almost two decades now, there is heart and authenticity you feel as soon as you walk in the door. Far from the cookie cutter environment felt at big corporate chains. Owners and management take great pride in the food, service, and atmosphere but go beyond that even by donating to local causes and actively working to make Katy a better place. As far as food is concerned, I've tried most everything on the menu and must say that if you are in town for one visit and never plan to come back, try the Marsala! Hands down best I've ever had at any Italian restaurant I've been to. I've actually given up on trying to find a better one and save it for the rare occasion I get Hasta's during a trip home. You pull in and this place is in a strip mall. I've never been to a good Italian restaurant in a strip mall! The outside is nothing to write home about. When I walked in the smell was amazing so I thought maybe I was wrong. No let me go back a little bit when I called in the order I asked if I could please have pomodoro sauce instead of marinara. The girl told me it's only the one sauce. So either she's wrong and doesn't know her menu oh whoever wrote the menu is lying as the spaghetti and meatballs has pomodoro sauce. How difficult is it to put pomodoro on chicken Parm and pasta, that by the way they didn't give me a choice of pasta. I got home my food had marinara sauce and I got about a tablespoon and a half f it. And not much pasta either. Which probably was a good thing since it was way undercooked, not even close to aldente. Chicken parm was so overcooked, tasteless and dry and a lot of it was burned! Took me 3 bottles of water to wash what part I could eat down. Definitely not worth the $18 they charge for this meal. Maybe a $10 lunch special. The Caesar salad was good and the rolls were phenomenal. The salad and rolls were the reason they got two stars otherwise I wouldn't have put any! Wow blown away with their brunch and their prices and their $2 Mimosas were brilliant! I ordered the shrimp and grits but, I did not realize it had sausage in it. A click2houston coupon brought us in around 6:30pm on a weekday. This was a good time to go, half-full and quiet. The fried ravioli was our appetizer, and it was delicious. My wife had the Chicken Marsala, and enjoyed it. My daughter had the spaghetti and meatballs and enjoyed that as well. The Cannelloni Pepe was a treat. I am a big Tex-Mex fan and the mix of ancho and poblano chiles with ricotta cheese, bacon, and cilantro was perfect. My wife had the mango martini and said it was good. In past visits, I have had the Hasta la Pasta house specialty, and recommend that dish as well. Our server was very helpful. He recommended the cannelloni and an excellent merlot. We didn't have to wait long for our food. When the waiter brought us food boxes after our meal, he boxed the leftovers for us. Our drinks were never empty. We have been to many different Katy-area restaurants and have not had service this good. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE-TAKE $$ ELSEWHERE. I placed an online order the evening before Thanksgiving. I needed to add an item and immediately called the restaurant. NO ONE ANSWERED THE PHONE after 20 mins of calling. I went to the restaurant to pick up our order and called the curbside number. NO ANSWER. 4 hosts/waiters/waitresses all standing behind the counter talking but no one answered the phone. HOW DO OFFER CURBSIDE PICK-UP IF YOU DON'T ANSWER YOUR PHONE??? Then when I went inside and asked if they had an issue with their phones the answer I received was THEY WERE BUSY!!! Really? I walked in and it was almost empty....4 people inside...two walked in after me. You weren't that busy if my order was made and people were standing around while my car was parked curbside, calling the curbside number and people just looking at my car. I asked for the manager and got an attitude from the older woman behind the counter WHO CLEARY DID NOT CARE about satisfied customers. I asked for the owners name and email and again was met with hostility because I pointed out the fact they were not busy and didn't answer their phones.
