Came here on a whim after taking the kids to Slick City. I like that they sell pizza by the slice and they make each pizza fresh. The kids all liked their pizza and the dough was good. I had the lasagne which was pretty good but the bread on the side was blah. Dessert was chocolate cake which was also tasty. Overall a mid pizza joint. Staff was nice, service was quick. Prices weren't cheap but not unreasonable. Our pizza had a crisp crust but was fairly pale. Toppings were generous. But seasoning was lacking; the Italian sausage was soft and utterly lacking in ANYTHING. The entire location could do with a good, deep cleaning. I'll give the good first, then the bad. The cheese sticks are very very good. The pizza is good, I really liked the odd pizza with nuts, the Genovese, it was nice. The carne caliente. It didn't taste like spicy garlic sauce, also it had some much of everything in it you could not pick any slices up. All the toppings and cheese was lumped in the middle and was slid off the pizza. The other pizza I would say also had too much of everything on it. This is not how you make pizza, don't over crowd it. The hamburger on the carne has that cheap, bad, hot pocket taste to it. That's was the only thing I didn't like, that particular meat. The phone girl taking my order... Bless her heart, she needs training, I had to hold her hand through the whole thing. Also they forgot our side of garlic sauce. These issues can be fixed. As I really want to like this place. Overall the pizza tastes great, and I enjoy the Dough, and especially the cheese sticks. I've always loved Pizza Bella, and now there's even more reason to support them. They're under new ownership that is keeping their product the same (consistent), while providing BETTER service than the previous owner. I know a lot of people weren't a fan of him, but I'll tolerate mediocre service for good food. However, that's no longer a concern here. :) My favorites still are: Puttanesca, Giovanni, and Quattro Formaggi with sausage and mushrooms. They really load up the pizza with toppings and use high quality ingredients--you can taste the difference. I recently tried their lemon cheesecake, which looks like a new addition to their dessert menu, and it was light and fluffy and delicious. Please give them another try if you were let down by previous management--Katy (and I)--need Pizza Bella to be around forever! read more

I rarely post a bad review since I have a background in the food service industry and I understand that sometimes things just go wrong but this time I couldn't ignore the negative experience. What liked about this place was that you could order different kinds of pizza by the slice. You order and pay at the counter which normally wouldn't be a problem except in this case I literally had to tell the employee which wine was the Pinot Grigio right from the start. We opted to sit outside. Our food was delivered but we were never checked on after that. We split a small Greek salad, it was fresh but lacked flavor. My husband's slice of meat lover's pizza was good. I ordered a slice of veggie pizza which seemed to be a slice of reheated cheese pizza with some raw vegetables on top, I took one bite and pushed it aside. I took one sip of wine and it was fermented not in a good way. The girl working there never came out until we were ready to leave. We were the only customers. As she cleared our plates I told her my vegetables were raw (again one bite eaten) and the wine had gone bad, she had no comment only a dirty look for me. I am an open minded person to race, gender, ethnic background etc and at that moment I felt her nasty look was reverse discrimination. Thirty dollars down the drain. read more

About 5 minutes later, got another text letting me know they were quite busy and it would be a few extra minutes. It worked out well as I got to sit for 5 minutes before heading home with the food. Decent, but not great. Is there a restaurant curse over Katy? Why do I have to be inside the loop to find really good food? We ordered pizza margherita and a cheese pizza for the kids. The ingredients were fresh, and the pizzas were made while we waited, rather than being stacked in the back. There was a little too much cheese for my taste, but my real problem was with the crust. It tasted good, but was really tough on the bottom. It was hard to chew and hard to cut for the kids. I'd like to see them correct that. For whatever reason, the crust on the pizza margherita was tougher than on the cheese pizza. The sauce was alright, a little on the sweet side, but not bad. They have a vegetarian section on their menu, which is great. I wish they had some simple pasta for young children. The restaurant is in a strip mall near Katy Mills Mall. For that type of location, I'd say it's nicely decorated inside. The place is extremely clean, and the people are super nice. I just wish I loved the food. I don't think I'll be giving them a third try, but I hope they make a few changes to improve. Sorry. read more

we used to love the pizza here. we decided to order through grub hub. the order was completely wrong. we couldn't reach the grub hub driver so we called the restaurant. the woman that answered could barely speak English and put us on hold and we got disconnected. we called a second time and she disconnected us again. then after that they just would not answer the phone at all. it would ring endlessly and occasionally someone would pick up and hang up again. I cannot believe the lack of customer service. we will never go here again or recommend them. maybe they should start with people answering the phone that can be helpful and know how to use the phone system. read more

A rude lanky spiderish owner makes me think this place could be operated slightly better. Heralded as the best Italian spot in old katy, combined with a cranky counter/owner turns a small intimate restaurant in to a hostile cant wait to get out slum. While the food here is above average, the atmosphere is rather un inviting unless you sit outside where the wrath of the management is out of view. Everything was delicious! Started off with a Greek salad, it's large enough for two. All the ingredients were fresh. Topped with olives, spicy pepperoncini, crumbled feta, red onions, tomato, cucumbers and large chunks of artichoke heart. It was great! I had a slice of the pepperoni pizza. It is by far the best pizza that I have had in the Katy area. You can really tell of the ingredients were top shelf. The crust, cheese and pepperoni were great but the sauce was the real star. For dessert we had the tiramisu. It is one of the best desserts I have ever had. They make it in house. Its worth coming here just for the tiramisu. This is as good as it gets! read more

We just moved out to this area and it was the first pizza place we tried. No need to look any more, this is our permanent pizza place. We're from the north east, and this tastes like the pizza we grew up with. Thinner chewy crust, fantastic peperonni, lots of options for toppings. My husband loves it cooked a little longer for a crispier crust, and he asks for 1 more minute in the oven. They always have our order perfect- including extra cooking time, and they always say "ready in 10 minutes" when we call in. It's hot in the box when we walk in the door for pick up. Great people at the front desk, always friendly, always smiling. Very happy we now live close to a great pizza place!!! read more

Visited Pizza Bella twice and ordered the Giovanni and a Margherita pizza. We order thin crusts. The small size is 4 pieces, enough for 1 person only or kids meal. The large can feed 2-3 adults. I think 4 would be pushing it if you are really hungry and eat more than 2 slices. The pizzas are delicious! Nothing like Dominos, Pepperonis or Little Casears. If you want a really good pizza, this is a great place! Unique and authentic. read more
