I like to try different diners, not going to the same one every time. I found Hatboro Dish on Yelp. I am glad I did! My father-in-law loves a particular diner up the road and I don't. I am always trying to find a different diner to take him to. I think I have found one that he and my mother-in-law might visit frequently! The variety for breakfast is very good. They have the regular items that most diners have for breakfast but they also have a variety of breakfast sandwiches and skillet dishes. I usually look to see if a business is up to par by seeing if they have the "BIG 3". The Trifecta as I like to call it.....waffles, french toast, pancakes. They've got it here at Hatboro Dish! I'm a happy girl! My in-laws loved the bacon and their potatoes and they said to each other that they would come back again! Formerly Lochel's Family Restaurant, the Hatboro Dish is still an excellent dining experience. They serve breakfast and lunch most days only serving dinner on Saturdays. My family and I went there for lunch on a Thursday. The staff was friendly and attentive. They took the time to interact with my three-year-old twins. The food arrived quickly and it was great. We had an omelet, french toast and chicken wrap. We devoured everything! I highly recommend the Hatboro Dish. read more

My husband and I are regulars at the Dish for breakfast. I love eggs for breakfast and regardless of how I order them - always done perfectly. My husband orders many different breakfast specials and has really loved most of them. Fast service, friendly people and great prices. We had a graduation party and used the Dish to cater. We could have paid double elsewhere and received less quality and quantity. The way they delivered and set everything up was fantastic. I would strongly recommend them for your next event. read more

Everything tastes like it's homemade and it's fresh. Portion size is large. The ma and pa breakfast potatoes are OMG. Coffee is good. Nice skillets and some different breakfast options. Good lunch sandwiches hot and cold, wraps, club, grilled cheese and some lunch entrees like meatloaf, hot turkey, chicken fingers, shrimp . Good kids breakfast and lunch menu! Kind of just an ordinary, low quality diner. I was hoping this would be a nice local find in the area. I know that avocado toast isn't everyone's specialty, but I was in the mood for it so I ordered. Got a few pieces of untoasted rye bread, a few thin slices of avocado (not nearly enough to cover the bread), and fried egg on top. 2 stars instead of 1 because the fruit cup I ordered on the side was fresh lol. read more

This is the last time I will be going to this place. I been here maybe 8 times and 5 out of the 8 times the staff have been miserable or rude. Half the time my food order takes over 40 mins to make and they end up getting it wrong. I haven't been there in a few weeks but today I waited 50 mins for my food and when I got there the hostess was the most rudest person that I ever had encounter with. Nothing fancy with the decor, but the service was good and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. We both had the signature dish, the Hatboro Dish. Two eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, and the French toast (recommended by the waitress). Both of our eggs were cooked as we ordered them, and the French toast exceeded my expectations. One thick piece of toast, covered with cinnamon and sugar. Very good. I only wish I could have substituted out the bacon for a second piece of sausage, though there was nothing wrong with the bacon. Hatboro Dish has taken over the former Lochel's Restaurant located in the center of Hatboro along York Rd. The restaurant has been redone and the dining room has been spruced up and modernized and looks very nice albeit a bit stark. The restaurant serves breakfast and lunch and the food is average to good. They changed the menu and pricing from the former Lochel's, and it is a little more expensive than the former restaurant which does not seem justified. The waitresses and their service is good. Hash potatoes are to die for. Fried chicken is also good -- very crispy yet juicy on the inside. The wait staff is friendly but a little out of it. Ours bought us an order of bacon when we very specifically asked for sausage. You have to pay at the front, but no one told us that so we wasted a good five minutes waiting for the waitress to come take our check. Overall, great atmosphere and pretty decent food. Love this place! My fiancé and I go here at least once a week. When we first moved into this area we would go here about 3 times a week. Their grits are pretty good for suburb grits! Grits wasn't a choice for sides when we first started going here. Since they changed the menu, it is a choice now! I have yet to try their lunch menu. I went into this restaurant on a weekday for lunch, and was disappointed to say the least. The restaurant looked as though it was recently redone, and it was cozy. My waitress was friendly, however you could hear and see her talking loudly with the other staff in the kitchen. So much for a quiet lunch... The food left much to be desired. I ordered a chicken wrap with broccoli rabe. Upon picking it up, a brownish liquid that tasted like dish water oozed from the bottom of the wrap. The chicken was overcooked and bland. The broccoli rabe was nothing but chewy and inedible stems. Unfortunately, my meal fell way short, and I don't plan on returning any time soon. read more
