While visiting St. Louis, decided to check out Hatch'd based on all the great Yelp reviews. Despite being very busy on a weekday, we were instantly seated at their only open table. I ordered the Hatch'd By You which consisted of two eggs, meat, hash browns and and English muffin. I thought everything was great. The eggs were spot on and the hash browns were super crispy - exactly how I like them! Hatch'd is a true example of how a restaurant should be run. The owner, Josh, worked alongside his staff, and also stopped by at every table to introduce himself and check on their dining experience. Our waiter was also incredibly polite and suggested some great, personalized customization to our dishes. The place has a very welcoming atmosphere.
I have a new favorite restaurant in St. Louis for breakfast. I purchased the Cherokee Slinger wow wow it was unbelievably good. The hashbrowns were also perfect. they were golden crisp and lightly salted. You know all chorizo is not created equal, and this one stands for far and above most chorizos. In the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger, I will be back.
WORTH THE WAIT. Highly recommend using Yelp to hop on their wait list - start checking early! Service and food were both outstanding. The menu was much larger than I expected and our server didn't hesitate to give us recommendations. Drinks were well made, food was cooked perfectly and came out in no time. There's a great full service bar as well. A lot of tables and a couple different levels give the space a neat atmosphere and it wasn't difficult talking to one another - acoustics are fine! Parking is the only troublesome part about the location, but patience is key.
Today was my first time dining here but it won't be my last. And based on the steady stream of customers, it is a popular place. So many menu options for breakfast. I settled on the basil infused strawberry French toast plus a side of fresh strawberries. Absolutely delicious. Per my friends the biscuits were spot on and egg white omelette was terrific. We had an excellent waiter- he was astute, efficient and friendly. If you are planning on going to Hatch'd be aware that there is parking across the street (Gravois).
Amazing breakfast menu! I ordered a basic egg, hash brown and bacon breakfast with the brioche French toast on the side. Excellent presentation and the service was 5 star!! Our server kept the hot coffee coming! Will definitely visit again!
Best brunch spot I've been to in St. Louis. There's usually a wait, but you can join the list online. Service was very good even though the place was packed. Every single thing we ordered was to die for. Cannot wait to go back.
Visited hatch'd a few weeks ago with 2 friends and I can say that it is still a 5-star experience. We added our name to the waitlist in advance and had a little over 90 minutes to wait for a table, but it's was okay because we were still not even on our way when we added our name. Instead, we took time to get ready and I even ran a few errands before checking in with the host. When I did check in, he let me know there would be another 15-20 minutes before a table was ready. It was a chilly day and sort of drizzly the day we went, so we had to hang out inside to wait for the table which was a little awkward, but we made it work. Once our table was ready, we had a server who brought over water and coffee right away. She even told us about the specials for the day and my friend and I were sold with the poached pear pancakes! After a few minutes, our server came back and we placed our orders and also asked for some refils of our drinks. When the food was delivered to the table, it was hot and fresh and looked amazing. My friend and I shared the pancakes and were so happy to be able to sample both kinds. While my other friend went with a more healthy meal of eggs with bacon and an english muffin. Our server came over to check in on us a few times and made sure we were good. When it was time to pay the bill, we took care of htat quickly and were on our way. Honestly, the wait sucks for this spot, but the food delivers everytime and I recommend visiting for brunch if you are in the area. Just be sure to get on the waitlist or else you will be told a crazy wait time upon arrival.
Good breakfast spot. I would advice making reservations prior to coming, the wait can be long. The chicken and waffles were good. The chicken had a slightly spice/sweet taste to it. I wouldn't mind getting it again but wouldn't rush to it. Eggs and bacon were good as well.
Quick and friendly service on a busy Saturday. The food was amazing - the owner came by and chatted with us, super nice guy. Overall a great experience and we left happy!!
I can finally say I've been to hatch'd and I get the hype! This was our third attempt at brunch over a couple of years, but it is worth the wait. If you plan to go on a nice Saturday during a holiday weekend, consider joining the online waitlist about 90 minutes beforehand. As you might expect from the warning, hatch'd feels crowded when you first walk in (the host stand and bar seats just a few steps from the front door), but it has a historic South City charm once you move toward your seat. We were lucky enough to be seated on the second floor with exposed brick walls and ample table space for our group of four. As lively and active as hatch'd was, service was impressively prompt. The space between drinks and food was appreciated, as there's a lot of menu to explore. Something stands out for every palate, and even more for anyone as indecisive as me. Besides my regular black coffee (a breakfast requirement), I tried the Revolver, hatch'd's bourbon-and-Kahlua Old Fashioned. The coffee is a nice medium strength - not too bitter and great for refills, exactly what I want with breakfast; the Revolver was a delicious revelation (I guess I shouldn't be surprised that two of my personal favorites blend like chocolate and peanut butter). I landed on the Pikes Market omlette (with carmelized onions in place of red) and a side of Texican loaded hash rounds (topped with grilled jalapeno, onion, queso, pico de gallo, and cilantro). So much to appreciate on one plate: tender smoked salmon, salty feta, sweet caramelized onion, and crispy tots straight from the kithcen. Hatch'd served up a reminder why I rarely pass up breakfast food on any menu. My wife ordered the Drunken Leprechaun (a St. Patrick's Day-themed Blue Hawaiian) and Strawberry Basil French Toast. I personally prefer savory breakfast food (I'll always order an omlette over pancakes when given the choice), but the toast was very good and recommended if you prefer a sweeter meal to start the day. As busy as hatch'd was (and I imagine always is), we walked into the heart of the rush. After about 20 minutes or so, it was much easier for our group to hear and hold conversations. I feel comfortable speaking on behalf of everyone when I say we left pleasantly full and thinking about what's worth a try next time.
Just had breakfast at Hatch'd for the second time in a few months. We had Patrick as our server both times. He always takes care of us, does a fabulous job checking in, clearing the table and helping me put together a meal when I don't know exactly what to order. This is really appreciated especially since they were really busy today. The food was hot and fresh, the pancake wasn't t my vibe, more flat, a tinge sweeter than I like but still descent.the hash browns were cooked perfectly and some of the best I've had. The basil mint lemonade is really good. It's fresh and tasty. The grits are nice and creamy. I tried the pork belly which is smoked fresh. It was tender, a little salty, but flavorful. Unfortunately they don't have bbq sauce and the portion was a bit smaller than expected. That said. We look forward to going back!
This place has been on my list of places to try. I finally got the chance to go. My friend and I came here on our off day from work. We were able to get in right away and get seated. We sat at a high top table near the bar. This is a small restaurant that can be crowded during peak hours. If you go early in the morning, you should be able to get in without a wait. I ordered a sweet Sarah Mimosa and the strawberry basil French toast w/ a side of bacon and eggs. The food was absolutely phenomenal. The French toast weren't overly sweet, they had a slight crunch, all while still being soft and fluffy. The syrup wasn't overly sweet, and was nice and warm. The eggs were cooked to my liking (scrambled with cheese) and the bacon was nice and crispy, not salty. The sweet Sarah mimosa was flavorful with the perfect ratio of strawberry to champagne. Service was excellent. Our server gave us the perfect amount of time to browse the menu, got our drink and food orders in,and checked on us periodically. Pricing was reasonable. Parking can be a hassle as it's street parking. The residential areas fill up quickly and Main Street parking can be a hazard.
The best breakfast burrito I've ever had- probably my new favorite brunch! I came here for a birthday meal with friends during the holidays, so it was a bit crowded. However, we checked in on the waitlist on our way over, and we only had to wait about 5 minutes to be seated. (Given that the app told me we were 17th in line initially, I was worried it might take much longer.) The hostesses were very friendly and gave us an accurate estimate of the time it would take. We didn't even end up waiting long enough to order drinks at the bar, which would have been a great option had we been waiting longer. The food here is outstanding. There are so many choices, all with creative names ;) Our table ordered four different dishes, and everyone was satisfied! They all loved the Mary Moon, Bizzle & Grizzle, and Benny's Got Beef. My California King burrito was amazing- perfectly done scrambled eggs inside, bacon, hash browns smothered in queso, topped with their own fresh pico de gallo. I couldn't even finish the whole thing, and my husband loved the leftovers. Add bottomless mimosas, and your morning is made! I love the cozy local hole-in-the-wall vibes, with unique mugs all around. It all felt very authentic and homey. Parking is not easy here, but it helps to know that going in. Be prepared to circle the block a time or two for street parking. I promise it's worth it!

Well, it's definitely a pretty popular place! A group of 6 of us met up before another event and some of us didn't have enough time to eat all their food. It was a Sunday and we got on the waitlist, but it was reeeally long (over 1.5 hours?). The manager (Katie?) was extremely helpful, and took some orders quickly when we told her our predicament. But our waiter wasn't the greatest. The food was DELICIOUS and Katie suggested I do my skillet on hash browns, but I so wanted to try the tots! Well, she was right. I'll keep it in mind for when I make it back. The flavors just didn't meld that well with the tots because they're SO crispy. My seasonal cocktail was to DIE FOR, and overall we enjoyed our meal and time spent. read more

Great food and options! Menu has from sweet and savory to spicy and savory options. I went with their spicy option, seriously spicy. It was spicy but very flavorful. I paired it with a half order of their strawberry basil French toast. They played off each other very nicely! read more

We planned a day of being out and about in the city. Starting with breakfast at Hatch'd! Joined the waitlist online and was surprised to see that they asked if we wanted an indoor or outdoor seat. Picked outdoor and headed that way when the time was right. As we traveled, I got a text saying it was going to be later than expected. Then one a few minutes later that said out table was ready. After getting there 10 min later, it turns out that 1) they don't have outdoor tables and 2) the table was not quite ready. No big deals but not the best way to start our experience. Got sat and ordered drinks and then food. They were very busy, as it was Good Friday and everyone had a similar idea as us! We enjoyed the drinks and talked u til our food came out. My wife got chicken and waffles, and I got a pastrami skillet. Mine must have sat for a while because it was all room temp. Cheese was solid again and the toast wasn't warm. All tasted great, and I ate it all, but again, not great. Our server (Jordan) did a great job of taking care of us, especially since it was so busy. Joined the waitlist on a Thursday morning because this place stays busy, which is a good thing! We had a little bit of a wait on our arrival but nothing bad at all. Our waitress was nice and offered good recommendations. She was a little forgetful at times but it was fine overall. My husband ordered a spicy Bloody Mary. He said it was good but not very spicy. He was able to doctor it up with the hot sauces on the table. I ordered the Chicken and waffle with a side of hash browns. I also added a side of scrambled eggs. The chicken was really good. It was very well seasoned and crispy. The sauce was very flavorful. The waffle was ok. I was expecting more of the vanilla flavor to come through. My eggs were really hot and so was the chicken but my hash browns and waffle weren't very warm. I also felt like my hash browns were a bit overcooked. They were too crispy. My husband ordered the Briskets and gravy omelet with a side of tots. Those tots are amazing. I'm not sure what seasoning they use but it was great. He enjoyed the omelet a lot and felt it was a nice hearty breakfast. It did take a while to get our food but over all everything was good. Hatch'd is a really good breakfast spot. This place is absolutely delicious! I stopped in for breakfast on my birthday and it was perfect. They always have a crowd so I'm glad I got a spot at the bar. The food came out hot, my server was good, and I enjoyed the whole experience. read more
They have a huge breakfast menu and a nice space. They do usually have a wait but thankfully, they have the yelp waitlist! We decided to skip the wait and sit at the bar since there were some open seats. The bartender was very friendly and service was great. Two of us got make your own omelette and the other got the pastrami hash and everyone loved their meal. I only gave it four stars instead of five because they had Fox News on the TV. When sitting at the bar, it was right in front of us and hard to avoid and wasn't really what I wanted to see while trying to enjoy a meal with friends, but otherwise no complaints! read more

Are breakfast here while visiting family in STL. Had a MONSTEROUS pancake which was delicious, eggs, bacon and hash browns, all cooked to perfection. Prices are very reasonable. Wait staff attentive and professional. Can't wait to come back next time! read more
Definitely use the online waitlist if you are wanting to eat at Hatch'd on the weekend! Got on it about an hour and a half before we planned to eat and were the next table seated after we checked-in. Hatch'd is in a relatively small space with limited seating, so other parties arriving were given a wait time of 2 hours on a Sunday morning. The food was all pretty good, your standard Breakfast fare. A few in our group got the California King which is a massive breakfast burrito- and is probably what I'd order next time I visit. My Chicken Fried Steak (my normal go-to at a breakfast spot) was alright, not sure if it was overcooked or if I'm just not a fan of the breading they use on it here. Service was a bit slow but that's to be expected during a brunch rush anywhere. Joel Olsteen on the TV was a bit of a turn off. read more

My friend had never been here before so we came here for brunch before 8am. Parking is atrocious between the one way streets, tight streets and limited street parking. But I promise it is worth every blood sweat and tear. When you walk inside, you are warmly greeted and met with the smell of bacon. Because it's winter still and I was cold, I started with a cup of coffee which you can get one complimentary refill so I timed it appropriately. Andrea was our waitress and bartender and I wanted to take advantage of the Sunrise Happy Hour between 7am-9am. I asked for Dealer's Choice meaning the bartender gets to decide based on alcohol base and sweetness or sourness what to make me. Andrea came back with a strawberry pineapple martini - the perfect balance between sweetness and booziness. For my entrée, I ordered the "I Now Pronounce You, Chicken and Waffle", which was a Crispy Maple Sriracha Chicken Breast, Malted Vanilla Waffle, Hash browns, House Made Bacon Syrup. Baby when I tell you it was reminiscent of how good the pancakes used to be at Denny's coupled with BACON SYRUP, I was in pure heaven. I took half of it home to relish in it a bit longer and to not be greedy. I had no clue about the bacon syrup until after the fact. I had a side of fruit instead of breakfast potatoes and felt really great about my decisions I was making at 8am on a Monday. I was in savory sweet buttery heaven because YES, I took advantage of the butter at the table and everything coupled with my very delicious coffee was divine. This was my first time at Hatch'd, but it won't be my last. I arrived about 11:30am, street parking was available. It was crowded, there was about a 20 minute wait. I received my mimosa from the bar and soon headed up the steep steps to the 2nd floor. I ordered the California King - Bacon, Cheddar, French Fries and Scrambled Egg Burrito, Served over Hash Browns, Smothered in House Made Queso with Pico. Delicious! Customer service was great. Everything was nice and clean with plenty of bobble heads! The waitress did mess up my check but it was ok, nothing major. I just wish we would've been told when we ordered that there is a surcharge on eggs. read more

Finally got a chance to try this place on a Friday morning. When I initially came in I waited for about a few minutes until someone sat me at a high table top. I ordered apple juice, the hatch'd it, and a waffle with strawberry's. I'm not sure why I ended up with a pancake when I let the waitress know i ordered a waffle twice while I was waiting. The wait here was long and they weren't even that busy. The pancake that i didn't ordered came out way longer and I had already finished the breakfast dish. I didn't even have the energy to ask for the waffle a 3rd time because the wait was too long. The floor was also super sticky. The place is smaller and I'm sure this is why its so busy on the weekends. Not sure if I'll be back. read more
It has been a while since we had brunch at hatch'd. We visited early and got in right away. The nice thing about hatched is that there is a waiting list on the website to see how many folks are waiting in line. Nice touch it makes it easy to gear your visit and travel time. This visit was different we got to sit upstairs in the private room for parties but they open it up on the weekends to accommodate the customers that have increased over the months. A good sign for the restaurant and the neighborhood. I enjoyed the Pavo de Pablo a little spicy flavor but not overpowering. A meal with smoked turkey,bacon, caramelized onions and pepper jack cheese (giving the little zing), this meal offers. They have many options plus make up your own meal and happy hours and bloody mary and mimosa specials. The servers are great and most times you will meet the owner at your visit. Check out the coffee if you like it you can take home a bag for later. Don't pass up hatch'd you will not be disappointed. I recommend this breakfast/ lunch stop. read more
Delicious, hearty breakfast! I joined the waitlist on Yelp from home and by the time we arrived, we were seated immediately. We did have to wait about 40 minutes for our food but with a coffee and a drink, it went by quickly. The food was so worth the wait, huge portion sizes and it was SO good. Will be back! read more

As a gluten free foodie, I was thrilled to leave a breakfast place and didn't have to succumb to the traditional eggs + meat breakfast. I feasted on two (huge) tender gluten free pancakes and a steaming pile of crispy hashbrowns topped with an assortment of fresh grilled veggies and two beautiful runny eggs. The chicken sausage links were a little small, but mighty, and bursting with flavor. And on the table? Cholula. Need I say more? Josh walked the floor ensuring every bite was being enjoyed and savored and if there was an opportunity to make the experience any better, it was an open door for an enhanced experience. Jasmine was a delight; the graciousness of the staff was a tonic after elbowing through busy grocery stores all morning-- definitely an experience I'd want to have again and again. read more

Oh my gosh! I can't get this place off my mind!! I ate breakfast this morning and it was the best breakfast I've had in a very long time! I made my own omelet and it came with hash browns and a pancake. DELICIOUS! Our waiter was very friendly and the owner came over to our table to apologize for the food delay and introduce himself. He was so nice!!! I can't wait to go back!!! My only concern is the lack of parking. They have a parking lot across the street but it's a little scary to cross. read more
