We looked forward to eating here for a couple of weeks before having a chance to stop in based on positive reviews from other sites. We stopped in for breakfast with high hopes but quickly had our expectations lowered. The breakfast menu is very limited. So limited that you can't even have toast with your eggs and hash. The food we ordered (Hillbilly Benedict, Hilbilly Breakfast with bacon and eggs over hard, and the gravy and biscuits) were all pretty bland and overall just not that great. With the exception of the hash, that was delicious. Other complaints are lack of drink options. They did have juice, soda and coffee. But juice at 2.50 for a 8 oz dixie cup was a bit much. And 2.50 for a CAN of soda is ridiculous. You also seat yourself, walk up and order your food, run to the back and pick up your own food. Then you can bus your own table while you're there as well. This would all be fine but you pay when you order and they point out the tipping options. I understand the model of having the customer do the work, but to ask for a tip on top of that is not cool. We did tip well but immediately questioned ourselves as to why we did so. Overall we did not enjoy the experience. read more

My favorite restaurant find of 2018, I probably love this place a little too much LOL. They offer one of the best burgers you can find in CLE, All In burger. Pulled pork, carmelized onions, bacon, dill sauce and BBQ sauce. To say it is good is an understatement! I also tried the fries with pulled chicken and coleslaw, the portion is huge. More importantly is the service. The staff is always so friendly and the owner will come around to the table to make sure everyone is enjoying their meals. Our daughter just had her wedding reception at Hatfield's and it was a fun wonderful experience. Food and drinks were great and staff were amazing. I really wanted to give this place a 5 star, was excited about it since seeing Hatfield on Chopped. However, it may be a victim of the times we live in. Service was a bit slow, the table was dirty and the bathroom was dirty as well. Employees were standing talking instead of doing. Old days people wiped down tables, menus, shakers, the floors, etc. All that kinda makes me wonder what the kitchen looks like. That being said it has above average food. Years ago when Hatfield's Goode Grub was just about to open it's location on Lorain Rd in Cleveland my spouse and I were walking by and we looked in the windows... the owner Ken Hatfield came out and invited us in to see the place prior to opening! He is such a wonderful man, very welcoming and friendly! We had a nice little tour and planned on going back asap, upon the official opening. Unfortunately we didn't make it there for years! Funny though that over those years, we saw Ken Hatfield on the food network and we would see the food-truck that they own around town. Recently we FINALLY made it in for brunch. OH-MY-GOODNESS! We were SERIOUSLY missing out! Not only is Ken Hatfield a wonderful guy but he is an amazing Chef and Hatfield's Goode Grub is one of my favorite brunch spots now! I don't think Ken remembered us from all those years ago, but he made it a point to come out of the kitchen during our visit and stop at every single table to touch-base with his guests. I was with looking for a dinner spot for a group of 16 on a Saturday so I called Friday night spoke with their manager Emily who said they would do their best to accommodate us... we arrived at Hatfields they set us up at a table that was perfect for our group!! This is the first restaurant we've ever been to that flat out refused to even attempt to cook our burgers to order. My girlfriend requested her burger be cooked medium rare while I wanted mine medium well. We were informed that they cook all their burgers medium with no exceptions. My girlfriend settled for her overcooked burger while I resorted to finishing cooking mine at home. In addition, the burgers were quite skimpy on beef, certainly less than 4 ounces, or 1/4 pound. My girlfriend thought it tasted like frozen beef. Furthermore the attitude of the employees who interacted with us could best be characterized as 'annoyed' by our presence. Caught this new food truck during Walnut Wednesday the other day. There was a huge line in front of it, but once I made to the front of that line, the food came out extremely fast. They have a pretty extensive menu of quick and simple southern-style comfort food. Had a pulled pork sandwich with a side of bacon mac and cheese. They were out of cole slaw by the time that I ordered, but even without the cole slaw, the pulled pork sandwich was flavored very well and the meat was sweet and tender. The mac and cheese was also great - they used shell-shaped pasta rather than your normal macaroni - it was a tad sweet, not overwhelmingly cheesy, with enough little bits of bacon to make you want more of it. She politely went and got,"Jessica" Co-Owner and Head of Operations there at the restaurant and at first, She told me "Oh no, I'm so sorry we're just so short staffed Our kitchen would become so overwelmed with that many people; We need like 2 weeks notice in advance for a reservation..." Stuff like that... Knowing my Husbands cousin isn't as used to traveling this deep with having a large family is exactly I felt I needed to introduce Myself and talk to them about the whole situation... Being understanding I went outside to talk to my husband who was walking up with my several brother in Laws and their Families.... **** Edited Review*** On January 21st my husband really wanted the smoked corn beef, so we UberEat delivery services it... worse decision ever! Both sandwiches made wrong... called store was told to take it up w UberEats... won't be back ever!!!! So disgusting in the way they treat patrons! I'm a little disappointed in the management at Hatfields! We had made reservations for a Pre-Christmas event with them. I had called on or around Dec 3, left a message some one called back, Yes.. I forgot to take a name. I inquired about their upstairs party room but was told our party wouldn't work up there, We had 15 people, but she said she could accommodate us in the cafe. I said that would be perfect as long as the party could have access to the alcohol and she said yes, it was perfect. Fast forward to the day of Dec 23rd I called to confirm everything and no reservation was held and to top off they were closed that day for an employee party! No apologies... No follow up w the employee that took the message and the owner knew who the " assistant" was! No nothing. We get Hatfields all the time.. Either delivered or stopping in! I called back just to to follow up this past week to speak w the owner directly, if it was my business I would want to know.. spoke w the assistant Manager... promised a call back and well that was 3 days ago and nothing! So I guess I will take my $100 a month and find some where else to patronize they obviously don't need it. Just very shitty way of handling it.. the owner took my call the day when I called to confirm and basically acting as if she didn't care... so please make sure if you are doing a party please have them confirm it w you seems they are very disorganized!! read more
