Rusted Hitch RV Roofing & Restoration

Rusted Hitch did a wonderful job replacing our RV roof. Tiffany, Chris, and Elijah were a…read morepleasure to work with, and extremely professional. All three are eager to answer questions, and happily explain processes as they go along. The products Rusted Hitch uses are top quality, and their warranty outline is well presented. We were highly impressed by the level of detail in the work: after removing the moldings/trims, they were meticulously stripped of old caulking and cleaned before being reinstalled along the new roof; when the vents and a/c were put back in place, the self-leveling caulking applied around them was neat and perfect; there was not a speck of trash left on site, and they even rolled a magnetic wheel around the ground to retrieve any dropped/missed staples or nails. Chris and Elijah took the time each day to do the job right, rather than hurry through to get home early. You won't be sorry if you put your RV in their hands.

Short back story. Eighteen months ago our classic 1965 Security Travel trailer was rebuilt by a…read moreBend trailer restoration company. Overall the rebuild did not go well. We have had multiple problems. The latest, in that 18 months, the roof sagged a bit over 3 1/2". It had been sagging since we got it back. Not good for a complete rebuild. We just did not know how bad it was initially or how bad it had gotten. Chris did an excellent job of assessing the extent of the poor workmanship and repairs needed. His estimate was also very accurate and fair. The new roof used tubular steel and was reinforced in one place to accommodate a small AC, that request was added on, if we ever decided to install one. We now have a roof that can handle being stood on if ever needed and it won't sag! Throughout the repair Chris documented the damage, and the installation of the new roof. If he had a question he called, or texted. The communication was very good and helped us trust that we made a good choice in working w/ Chris. Overall my wife and I are very pleased with the experience provided by Chris and Rusted Hitch Restoration!

Excellent campground! So far, this is my favorite Thousand Trails campground. I had decided to…read morecancel my membership because the other Oregon and Washington parks are in such bad shape . This amazing camp is making me re-think. We came during COVID, so the pool, clubhouse , and other amenities were closed . They look nice! Of course, everything looks clean when nobody is using it. Like other Thousand trails parks, all sites are first-come-first-served. Extremely annoying, but the sites here are relatively flat and large. We had plenty of space for our RV, a tent , and 2 cars. ALL sites have electric and water (their website says otherwise), so it is not as hard to find a site as it is at other locations. None of the sites have sewer. We knew this going in, but it did limit how long we could stay . This is the first Thousand trails we have been to that had phone service and wifi available throughout the park. The Little Deschutes River goes right through the park , and this is a great spot for swimming and floating. It is small, but very fun. The park map shows two bridges that are good float start and end points, but we could never find them. During non-COVID times , they have a shuttle for a longer float, but it was not available. I definitely recommend having a car available. We rented one from Hertz for $20/day and it made our trip . Bend is nearby with lots to do . There is no Uber or Lyft in the immediate area. My complaint about this park is that they do not allow charcoal BBQ. We understand the fire ban , but not being able to use our BBQ was a pain. We had to run to Bimart and grab an $80 BBQ that we will probably never use again.

Ryan first showed us a used Newmar New Aire that we really loved, but he didn't have one available at the time. He was still incredibly helpful and generous with his time. If we were purchasing again, we would absolutely go through him. Unfortunately, we ended up purchasing from the world's largest Newmar dealer in Florida, and the experience there was abysmal and expensive. We drove from Florida to Oregon (home) for a 6 week trip and took a couple small trips. After compiling a big list of necessary repairs, we returned to Beaver for service. That took about 5 months, though we weren't in a hurry and it seems they were very thorough. Nine months after initial purchase, we scheduled a paid walkthrough with their specialist, Aaron Pierce. That experience made a huge difference. Aaron took the time to walk us through details we didn't even realize we needed to know--things that would have made our earlier trips much easier and more enjoyable. Even when leaving, Aaron, Jaime, and Ryan all made sure we knew how to reach them if there were questions or issues. Arriving back at home, we had questions on AGS settings and Aaron has been very responsive via text messaging. Overall, Beaver Coach Sales has been helpful, knowledgeable, and willing to support us even when they didn't make the original sale. That says a lot about their team.
