Wonderful, helpful staff! The woman at the register helped us with recommendations for lunch and was super friendly. There is bar/stool seating facing the windows overlooking the boat slips in the Marina. The sandwiches/burgers we ordered came with chips, but we ordered a side of cheese curds and basket of french fries which were shoestring and seasoned. Both very good! The fried chicken fillet was sooo good. I ordered mine with only mayo, but that can customized. This is a totally awesome little place tucked away in a marina. We actually were camping for a week and needed to get laundry done, so while we did a couple loads we had a totally in expensive excellent lunch. All the gals are excellent, great service. My wife got a fried fish sandwich - pretty proud, they are, of the fish - caught local. My wife reports is was excellent. I went with a cheeseburger with bacon - excellent. Again, they are pretty proud of their "hand Pattie's" burgers. It is all good, the burg was delish. I would be remiss if I did not add their homemade, old bay mayo - awesome uber level. Also, their fries are crispy on the outside and soggy in the middle, yummy. Rare special fry technique that I love!!!! An unassuming deli overlooking a marina - and one of the best burgers and fries around. Well worth the stop, and from the other reviews, it's clear our meal was not an anomaly. The fries are thin and crispy and utter perfection. The burgers all the way were everything I love about a juicy burger. Imagine taking a large bunch of delicious buttery shrimp and smashing them into a burger shape. That is what it is, and it sure is good. It comes on a soft bun and a small bag of chips. Oh.my. AMAZING FOOD AND SERVICE!!! The fresh, homemade tuna- you won't regret it. I'm guessing the white bread is homemade, but any which way- it's seriously amazing. The GF bread- same- my GF kid usually skips GF bread options because they are often meh- but this one- ah-mazing. And "the captain" sandwich- my husband inhaled it so fast, he wanted to order a 2nd one!! You WILL NOT regret stopping here. I'll have to agree with everyone else: this place is pretty tasty. The shrimp burger was awesome. I also added on some potato salad and it was a perfect compliment. Realized I haven't been back to update my review. I've been back a few more times since my last review last spring. The shrimp burger is as good as everyone reports. Sandwiches are great, and they use boar's head meats. Service was on point and they efficiently handled a full house of hungry guests, even on a random Thursday in January (HHD is one of the few places open for lunch down this way in the off-season). read more

Harbor deli is pretty kickass low key deli. The Shrimp salad is great. Word to the wise though the fountain drinks are made with the local tap. If you're sensitive to that (some of us are) get a bottled drink (or beer!). read more

I've eaten here in the past with my family for years. This was my first time back in quite a long while. I was tired after hiking Pea Island in the heat today. This quaint little place is a darling of a lunch spot, but you may miss it unless you're specifically looking for it, and when in Hatteras, I recommend just that: Look for it. I've included twenty or so photos to help, and here are a few of my impressions. First, the lady who took our order, whom I later found to be the owner/operator, is just plain first class all the way. Sitting as it does, literally in the parking lot of the Marina, the view from the dining room is picturesque and the whole place is impeccably clean. The food is no-nonsense fresh and locally sourced, the variety this lady, Jennifer Scarborough, has cleverly packed into this small place is inspired. We had sandwich and fries, didn't do desserts, but what was offered in that area looked amazing for a place so utilitarian. I can't find anything amiss here, and I'm the person who really looks closely. Go here knowing your money is going to be well spent. read more

This tiny deli is serving up 5 star dishes in a shop the size of a snuff box. Seafood direct from the dock outback that is flavorful, simple and amazing. What a great find. The place is a little lacking when it comes to "dine in". However, their breakfast food is awesome. I had the "Buck" and it was one of the best bagel breakfast sandwiches I've had. Their croissants aren't too shabby either. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone looking for a good to-go breakfast joint.
