We went with friends who know the place well. The pimento wontons for the table were an excellent start. The sandwiches were a perfect portion size for a night out. Service was good, and the whole vibe was relaxed and fun. The collards were okay, not great, but very fresh. The Southern Seoul sandwich was excellent.

I walked into Sweet Auburn BBQ expecting solid barbecue. What I got was a place operating at a level most spots never reach. Start with the service. Impeccable. Not good. Not decent. Impeccable. The server knew the menu inside out. Every recommendation landed exactly where it needed to. That sets the tone. You trust the kitchen before the food even hits the table. That matters. Now let's talk reality. This place is stepping into the ring with Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q. And here's the difference. I walked in. Sat down. No 40 minute wait. No chaos. Just straight to business. That alone earns respect. Appetizers first. Cornbread. A surprise. Slightly sweet, balanced, not dry. I expected average. I got better. 4 out of 5. Then the Wu-Tang wings. This is where things changed. 10 out of 10. No hesitation. Perfect heat. A sweet edge that hits first, then the spice builds without overwhelming. Crisp outside, juicy inside. Dip it in ranch or blue cheese and it elevates even further. This is the kind of dish you think about the next day. Pimento cheese wontons. 5 out of 5. Crunch on the outside. Rich, creamy, sharp flavor inside. No shortcuts here. Every bite is deliberate. Now the mains. Brisket. Tender, properly smoked, clean bark, fat rendered right. No dryness, no shortcuts. Ribs. Balanced, flavorful, cooked with precision. No falling apart mess. They hold structure, which tells you everything about technique. And yes, we ran the wings back again. That says enough. One miss on the table. Bulgogi salad. 3 out of 5. Not bad. Not memorable. When everything else hits this hard, average stands out. Ambience is dialed in. Casual but intentional. You feel comfortable. You feel like you're in the right place. This is not hype. This is execution. 5 out of 5. I walked in curious. I left impressed. I will be back.

We went last night for Valentine's dinner and enjoyed our first visit to this Atlanta treasure! They had it decorated for Valentine's Day and the staff was very welcoming. We did not have a reservation but were able to be seated quickly at 5:30pm but it was packed by 6:15 pm. We had brisket egg rolls (good, 7/10) and pimento cheese fried wontons (great, 8/10) for our appetizers with a house Margarita and old fashion. Our son and I got the pick 2 or 3 meats with 2 sides combos. Brisket (10/10), pulled pork (9/10), sausage (10/10) and wings (8/10) were all delicious. The Mac and cheese was a 12/10!! So yummy!!! Greens and Brussels sprouts were so good both were a 9/10!! Hubby got the SMOKED BRISKET RENDANG. It was yummy. (8/10) We all got a different dessert and we'd all get them again. Banana pudding was whipped, light and fluffy (9/10)! Pecan pie with bourbon ice cream was a 10/10 and our son loved the bread pudding and the ice cream. He said 11/10! The only issue I had was they don't give you a bill or even show you a list of what you are paying for. It's those handheld machines and he just showed us the total. I wanted to ask to see the charges but my husband would not have liked that! lol. I'm just curious as we paid for our drinks at the bar and I thought the total was more than what I calculated. So I am curious if there are fees. I also bought 2 stickers for $3 each and the total was $7 because I paid in cash.

When they asked us if we wanted a "traditional chinese smokehouse experience" I have to admit I was skeptical. BUT they really delivered. We got appetizers and two of the omakase boards (big group) with a variety of sides. Standouts to me were: brussel sprouts, brisket egg rolls, sweet potato fries, and brisket. Lemon pepper wings were also really good! Everyone there seemed to be having a good time. They have a few TVs on the walls broadcasting sports if you're into that vibe. The waiters and waitresses were friendly and food came out fairly quick!

The atmosphere in the restaurant was crowded when we arrived to dine for dinner on a Saturday night. Noise level was average for a crowded place. Seating area may be a bit tight if you're claustrophobic. You'll need to find street parking or paid parking lot next to the restaurant prior to arrival. The food was heavy but, delicious as expected. We ordered the Omakase BBQ to be shared by 4 ppl. We had enough food for all and still had some left overs for take away.

Cute little place with bustling business and good reviews. Walked by and food looked yummy so I decided to stop in. Friendly staff and good service, nice decor on the walls. Brisket was a little dry but ribs were tasty. Mac and cheese was cheesy overload with more cheese melted on top. First time trying the grits. Also got the banana pudding which was small for the $8 price tag. Heard the fried rice was good and the egg rolls. Left feeling satiated but without leftovers. Maybe I ordered the wrong things but for $30 felt I could get much more food elsewhere.

I had a great experience at Sweet Auburn BBQ. We came for one of their pop up that week which they do often with different chefs. We had sliders, ribs and wings. They have the coolest bathroom ever and even surprised me with a banana pudding for my birthday. Amazing experience and great people.

I was in town visiting my friend, who recently moved into the area. She took me to Sweet Auburn BBQ, which is one of her favorite local spots. I can certainly see why she was excited to take me to Sweet Auburn, because the food, service, and overall experience were great. We stopped by the restaurant around 3pm on a Monday. Loved what the restaurant had done to the place with Christmas spirit. I could already tell that the restaurant had character without it, but the holiday decor amplified it even more. We were greeted by Ethan who also helped as our server. He was really friendly and was a big help with going over their menu. Bonus points for the food coming out in a timely manner. We waited no longer than 10 minutes for the dishes to come out, and they all came out at the same time. I enjoyed everything we ate, including the brisket egg rolls, Wu Tang wings, and bulgogi salad. Everything was flavorful and satisfying. It didn't seem like a lot of food at first, but we were so stuffed that we couldn't finish the salad.

If you're visiting the Atlanta Christkindl Market at the Lawrenceville Lawn this year, make sure you prioritize a stop at the legendary Sweet Auburn BBQ booth! This Midtown favorite is serving up comfort and flavor you can't miss. Must-Try Menu Items: The Mac n Cheese is absolutely legendary--creamy, cheesy perfection. The Chocolate Chip Cookies are simply the best holiday treat. But nothing beats their Gigantic Warm Pretzel! It's the fluffiest, butteriest Giant Pretzel I saw throughout the entire event. The staff was incredibly warm and accommodating. Service with a smile, even as the line grew! I was lucky to grab my order--prepared within minutes--thanks to a sweet young lady who took my order. It's been a minute since I've been to the Midtown Atlanta location, but this market stop reminds me I need to hit up Sweet Auburn BBQ again soon! LAST DAY OF THIS EVENT IS 12/24 Go get that pretzel and let me know your favorite item! #ashsaidit #SweetAuburnBBQ #AtlantaChristkindlMarket #LawrencevilleLawn #GwinnettCounty #ATLeats #AtlantaFoodie #GiantPretzel #BBQMacnCheese #MidtownAtlanta #GermanChristmasMarket #ChristmasMarketFood #AtlantaBBQ #GwinnettEats #FoodVendor #HolidayTreats #MustEatATL

Pros: good and attentive service, ample seating, tasty sauce Cons: meat was quite dry during dinner hours, mac&cheese and the pear coleslaw were bland. Definitely needs to be hit with the sauce

Coming home from Atlanta I googled restaurants near me and this one came up, so we gave it a go! So glad we did! Asian/BBQ at its finest! Nice laid back vibes with exquisite food! The server was so helpful and friendly...making suggestions from the menu and that's what we ordered! Pimento cheese wontons are the BOMB!! Crunchy wontons with creamy pimento cheese inside served with a sweet Thai chili sauce. YOU MUST TRY THESE! We also got the BBQ pulled pork sandwich served on Texas toast and as a barbecue connoisseur I can tell you this sandwich was perfection! Fries were delicious with just the right amount of seasoning. I highly recommend giving this place a try if you're passing through south Atlanta! We will definitely be back!

Over in the area and decided to try Sweet Auburn BBQ. We were greeted immediately and seated with a perfect view of the street outside. Our server was so cool and funny. She gave us some great recommendations so we started with the egg roll and then the main course. This food was so delicious! Seasoned perfectly! Fresh and hot! Great ambience and views. There's a paid parking on the side of the building or across the street, if you can find street parking it's free, so you have options.

I had been craving a burger for about a week. I saw they had a burger in Atl burger week last year so I decided to try it out. I've never been more pissed off about a $20 burger and I hate taking L's on food. I ordered the wagyu burger online for take out. The beef patties were dry and unseasoned and the brisket was pretty much the same. Please stop entering burger week...it's misleading.

There is a parking deck that is a three minute walk away. $3 for 0-2 hours.

The sausage was ok, it had cheese inside of it. All of the sides were average to good. I like that the platter was served with onions, good pickles, and white bread.
