Dr. Ku and Dr. Takata joined Hatton Veterinary Hospital many years ago and we followed them there from the old Greenhaven Vet clinic (when it was taken over by VCA). The clinic and the doctors at Hatton have cared for our animals for over 30 years and we have never had a problem. We have seen all the doctors over the years as well as the techs and desk staff and only experienced excellent service. Dr. Ku, specifically, is the perfect blend of Western and Eastern medicine when it comes to dogs. Our pets have lived longer, healthier lives because of the care they have received from everyone at Hatton's.

Fantastic work from Hatton Vet Hospital! I needed to take my dog in, almost emergency surgery on her eye, but Hatton was able to get me the next available appointment that morning, and next day was able to perform her surgery. Lucky the damage was minor and she cut her eyelid while scratching her ear. I thought I had to spend a lot, but it was affordable and didn't have to break my savings to save her eye. The Dr explained everything they did and was able to find another laceration we didn't see. They even trimmed her nails to prevent puncture. Staff was nice but busy, but they were really caring and communicated very well with anxious owners like us. Amazing work! Our dog's eye looked as if she never had surgery!

My girls and I made the hard decision to put our 9 year old Pug to sleep. she had a back problem and was peeing and pooping in the house for the last 6 months. Her quality of life was just not the same. Making the decision was extremely hard. I consulted the previous vet I had been taking her to for years. I should have just listened to my instincts and taken her there or had it done in our home: it has now been over a week and I really feel sick about it. The vet questioned me and asked if I had contacted a rescue, she said they can put a wheel chair on her back end. I made a few phone calls and did get in touch with a rescue. My pug was pacing the floor. She left the room for nearly 15 min. I should have left.... we do what we think is best for our animals. It is a very hard decision and one should not be made to feel guilty about!!!! Regrets other than I should have left.. I will do this procedure at home next time. After my animal has indulged in a cheeseburger. No follow up. Thanks Dr. You know who you are..

    Shiloh waiting for Dr.Chen
    C S.

Christmas was stressful when Shiloh became lethargic and weak, on the brink of death, I called Hatton Veternarian Hospital and they immediately had an opening for Shiloh. Dr. Chen and his staff took her blood and checked her out, determination: Autoimmune Disease with few options to live at 17% red blood count! 1) transfusions @$3K or 2) intense medication - steroids. Dr. Chen patiently went over the details before I decided to do the meditation route (more affordable for me). To date, I have taken Shiloh in 4 times spending $100-$250 per visit and she is fully recovering. We are going to be slowly weaning Shiloh off the steroids beginning today! Great office and awesome Doctor.

When I walked in, I was impressed by how clean and organized the building was. The open concept floor was not what I was expecting but it was really awesome being with my dog every step of the way. The gentleman that helped us offered a bed for my dog to lay on, which was good because we waited like 5 hours. They offer snacks, drinks, as well as blankets for humans because it gets quite cold in there. Everyone there was kind and friendly. You could really tell they were dedicated to their job and providing the best experience for their patients. My princess loved being able to watch everyone walk around her and was completely content. The doctor even sat with her when we were finally seen so she wouldn't have to be moved. :) All the staff talked to her like a baby whenever they addressed her which made me happy too. Really shows they love animals. Paid about $660 to find out she didn't have a lot of poop in her, but the peace of mind was worth it. Getting to see how they take x-rays was cool too, even if my poor baby had to be manhandled hehe. The bill was much cheaper than I expected, which was nice. It was for the initial exam and the x-rays. Would highly recommend coming here for a transparent, wonderful experience!

My cat had a urinary block, which they were able to identify with an ultrasound immediately. I'm very thankful for that. BUT they priced us VERY expensively for a procedure I was able to get done at another vet clinic for half the price. $7-8000 was what we were quoted from them for a urinary blockage clearing and surgery to remove the stones I was able to go to VCA Bradshaw the same evening and get the same surgery for $4k. I love my cat and considered the option of putting him down due to me not being able to afford the surgery. I'm so thankful that I was able to save my cat for a price I was able to afford with VCA Bradshaw.

For example, I had an appointment for my dog over a month ago. While there, I completely forgot to ask about the flea medication Bravecto, which is available only by prescription and requires a doctor's visit before you get the prescription. I just called the office and asked if they'd be willing to write the script for Bravecto since I forgot to inquire during the appointment, and they were like 'yes, absolutely!' My last vet wouldn't do that, even though I had just had an appointment and a full exam less than two months prior. They made me schedule another appointment for $110 and then get the script, which is already expensive, costing (at that time) around $70 bucks, so I wasn't happy having to pay $180 bucks essentially to obtain the flea medication. The doc at Bruceville Pet Hospital understood that I had just had an appointment, so he didn't need to see my dog again. Pricing is very reasonable here, which is important when everything else is so unreasonably expensive! As a consumer who loves her dog, I truly appreciate not being price-gouged. That said, if you're looking for a veterinarian with an excellent, supportive staff, I highly recommend Bruceville Pet Hospital!

When there was no one at the front to ask for updates on when we could be seen, I casually walked up to the first office where a man was seated and he was just scrolling through his phone. He never looked up to acknowledge me and he remained slumped in his chair with hardly a care in the world. It was clear that we didn't matter and after several money grab attempts when our pup just needed either a stool sample or the right medication, we quickly pivoted to a more caring, attentive, and thankfully, closer veterinary establishment. One star is still three too many to give. I'd go negative stars, if possible. Hey Yelp, allow negative stars please. Gracias.

At this point, they truly feel like extended family. What stands out most is the combination of knowledge and compassion. They take the time to explain things clearly, answer questions, and make sure you feel comfortable with decisions -- you never feel rushed, and you always feel heard. They've been there for the happy moments and also the incredibly hard ones. When we've had to say goodbye to pets, they were even able to come to our home to provide end-of-life care. That level of kindness meant more than I can really put into words, and it's something that's very hard to find. They've not only cared for my pets, but also cared for animals belonging to my parents over the years, so in many ways they've watched me grow from high school into adulthood and now almost 50, through multiple generations of pets. That kind of history creates a level of trust that's priceless. The office is clean, the staff is warm and professional, and you can tell everyone there genuinely cares about the animals they treat. If you're looking for a vet team that combines expertise with real compassion, this is a special place.

My cat takes methimazole for his thyroid and has his levels checked every six months to monitor his dosage. His most recent results were normal. When I later requested his medication refill through an outside pharmacy, Stonelake refused to refill it because they said he also needed a total health bloodwork panel every six months to ensure his organs could tolerate the medication. I was told this additional testing should have been done when his thyroid levels were checked in July, but that a "system glitch" was the reason it hadn't been addressed at that time. What bothered me most was that this wasn't presented as a recommendation, it became a requirement when my cat needed his medication. They only agreed to fill a one month supply until I got the additional bloodwork done. I ultimately sought a second opinion/care from another veterinarian, who explained that additional comprehensive bloodwork isn't a bad idea and can certainly be appropriate if his previous bloodwork showed other things that needed to be monitored routinely, but they did not consider it an automatic requirement on top of his six-month thyroid level monitoring. That experience was a lightbulb moment for me. Throughout the three years I came here, I frequently felt that visits involved additional products, services, tests, or treatments being recommended. As a pet owner without veterinary training, you depend on your veterinarian to clearly explain what is medically necessary, what is recommended, and what is optional. Looking back, I don't feel those distinctions were consistently clear. Recommendations often felt tied to preventing my pets from suffering, which made declining them feel irresponsible. Since changing veterinarians, I've begun learning that some things I had been told were simply untrue and used as a way to get my pets into the office more often than they needed. That has been incredibly disappointing after trusting Stonelake with my animals for three years.

They also seem to give inconsistent guidance and requirements when it comes to pet exams. One of my dogs gets bad seasonal allergies and we take them in to get cytopoint shots every other month or so during the spring and summer months. They told us at first exams were only needed once a year even when getting cytopoint shots but the last time I tried to get them in for just the shot they told me they needed to do another exam even though it was done 6 months ago. They tried to tell me issues like allergies and cytopoint require an exam every 6 months instead of 12 which, again, was never required here or at any other vet we've been to before. My mom wasn't satisfied with our last visit either and they tried to reach out about her negative review but she didn't want to deal with them anymore. They also consistently spam my inbox with reminders to bring my dogs in long before they actually need to be seen so I think it's time we look elsewhere for a different vet.
