We stopped at the bottom of this big room on The Haunted Mansion Omnimover dark ride at Disney World in Orlando. I enjoyed the stoppage.

The Haunted Mansion is one of my favorite rides at Disney World. Top five. It's a must-ride. It's not actually scary like a haunted house you'd go to during Halloween season or an attraction at Halloween Horror Nights at Universal. The ride is family-friendly, so kids and adults can enjoy it alike. I never rode this one as a kid, only as an adult, and I quite enjoyed it. It just has a lot of original charm and appeal. The ride is old and opened concurrently with Magic Kingdom on October 1, 1971. While updates have been made over the years, I've heard that the original magic of the ride has stayed true to the original. We had Lightning Lane passes on a non-holiday Monday around 1:05 PM and experienced about a five-minute wait. The regular line was really long. There are lots of memorable moments. Highlights for me included the seance room with Madame Leota, the ballroom with the dancing ghosts (neat special effects; reminds me of Super Castlevania IV), and the cemetery with old-school animatronics. I like the song, "Grim Grinning Ghosts," composed by Buddy Baker in 1969. There are lots of fun details and Easter eggs inside and outside of the ride. Admittedly, I didn't notice that the paintings stretched. I was a bit disoriented in the "elevator" room and didn't know what to expect. I thought maybe the room was rotating. My wife and I got stuck for a few minutes in one of the "Doom Buggies" in the cemetery. That experience was actually fun and we didn't mind it. It gave me extra time to take in and appreciate the sights. Shortly after getting home from this trip to Disney World, we watched the movies Haunted Mansion (2023) and Muppets Haunted Mansion (2021) on Disney+. These are movies based on the ride. The original version of this ride at Disneyland in California is different. The Disneyland version is shorter and the outside looks like an antebellum mansion as opposed to the Disney World version's Gothic revival architecture. I recommend checking out Cinemassacre's September 2025 video review of The Haunted Mansion on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_nQguaXmUzk

Always a fun ride/experience. I think this is an experience as much as it's a ride. We had a lightening lane which was good as this was a very long line. I couldn't have waited in that line. They had a photographer taking pictures inline with the cemetery and mansion as the back drop. I wish they would have pulled us out of line to take some pictures as I love their pictures. As you can see we got to see some of the cemetery and Toad for Toad's wild ride. I missed that ride, they may have taken it out or we just missed it. The waiting area really gets bunched up and it was a little close for comfort as they had you fill in all the empty spaces in line before you go into the stretching room. We then were shuffled out onto the converter belt to meet our chairs for the ride. It you have to be quick on you feet to catch your ride. I can see why they have to stop the ride at times to assist people getting in their chairs/ride. It does take away a little of the magic of the ride when they have to stop it and tell everyone not to get out of their seats. I enjoyed seeing all the ghosts flying around. I pre read some of the reviews so I knew when to look scared for the pictures. There are 3 pictures hanging on the wall close to the front of the ride. The second picture is the ship. The third picture is where the camera is hidden. The third pictures is the headless horseman. Looks scared when you see the headless horseman, the 3rd pictures is on the wall and you will come out with real fun magic shot on your photos, magic memories. I went on this ride mostly for the cool ride photos we got. Good thing I knew when to pose.

When visiting the park the haunted mansion is must. Yes there is always a wait and long line but you just go with the flow and hope your turn comes sooner than later. No matter how many time you ride theres always excitement knowing that you have to ride it again and again. Haunted Mansion is one of my favorite attractions at the park. Thank you Kate and Maria for getting my hat. I thought I had lost it forever and that one of the ghost would be wearing it however, Katie and Maria were able to help me out. Thank you for your great customer service.

This ride just doesn't get old!!!! As you wait for the ride, anticipation builds as you weave your way through crypts and tombstones. Be on the lookout for everything from music to a tomb blowing bubbles. Finally, it's time for you to load into the car to explore the mysteries of the Haunted Mansion. You'll pass by as ghosts dance to entertain themselves as you watch. Be careful one may even hitch a ride in your buggy! It's a great time. This one is not scary. It will entertain kids and adults alike. There are not any major drops or surprises. Treat yourself so this can be your required ride when you hit Disney. It's already mine!

This is an awesome ride. It's a little better at night just because of the haunted factor. You file into a giant room with everyone to start the ride. The ride itself is on a flat escalator system and it seats up to 3 I think but it's better to ride it by yourself or with one other person. It's not a scary ride per se, but they have "spooky" stuff throughout. Definitely a must visit.

Worth the wait. This is a classic staple of Magic Kingdom. Even the queue line you wait in has hidden secretes, can you find the ring stuck in the concrete that the Haunted mansion, wife threw away? Recently added the hat box ghost after the hit movie of 2023, take a look in the attic. Finally, don't rush to leave when you get outside, there's a pet Sematary in a ghost drawn carriage

Would've been cool if we actually got to ride it. Instead it suffered a major malfunction just moments into the ride forcing us to sit strapped in for about 15 minutes before staff started evacuating us one by one. Of course we were the last ones to be let off the ride and staff was there to give us a "fast pass" or whatever they call it to skip the line when we return. Well how does that work on a one day pass when the ride takes a dump and doesn't reopen for the rest of the day? Typical of Disney IMO and a disgrace when it costs $1000 for a family of 5 to enter for ONE day!

We love this classic ride! Maybe it's just nostalgia coming from a native Floridian. It's a blast from the past, and it's certainly not meant to be scary in today's standards. It's just supposed to be creepy in a cartoony sort of way. The mansion at night time is always a thrill. I have memories from Grad Night in the 80s. We stayed overnight in the Magic Kingdom park until the wee hours of the morning. We slept on our ride back to Miami on the bus, and watched the sun rise. We even brought our pillows. Great memories! We used a Genie+ LL for this one. The lines can be very long, and it was a ride that we couldn't pass up. The cemetery outside even appeared to be the same. My husband shared a great childhood memory of his first visit with his mom. It made me a little glassy eyed. I know there have been a few changes, but I didn't really recognize any of them. I'm pretty sure I heard Vincent Price's sinister laugh. Wasn't it gone for a little while? I know it was him. Anyway, I believe it was the first high capacity ride thanks to the omnimover system with its rotating abilities. The Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind ride uses some of this technology in it's vehicles as well. I read that somewhere about it being an ode to the Haunted Mansion. It's just one of those rides that we just can't miss. At least not for this Florida resident who has to experience every classic ride when visiting this theme park.

Haunted Mansion is a classic Disney ride. Every Disney Park around the world has a version of the Haunted Mansion. This one is located at Magic Kingdom over in Liberty Square and is your classic spooky Disney ride. This is one of our favorite rides and a must visit each time we are there. You must have a park ticket to get into Magic Kingdom, but no extra ticket is required to ride, unless you want to use the lightening lane and not wait quite as long. This ride can really have a long wait and 98% of the line is outside. It is mostly covered but still outside. Tip- if it says 13-minute wait, this means it is virtually a walk on. If you are in the standard line, there are a few things to look at and do while in line but more towards the end of the line. Right before you enter the mansion, make sure to look to the graveyard on the left, the tombstones have some really funny and clever sayings. This is a slow-moving ride that takes you through the Mansion. It is a dark ride, meaning there is not a lot of light, and you are mostly in the dark. It is a 2-person vehicle, and the track continues to move. This ride tends to stop a lot which could slow the line down. If you are unable to get into your buggy with the walkway moving, they will slow it down for you as well, just ask. Once you enter the house, you have a sort of preshow. This is the stretching room, "Is this room actually stretching or is it just your imagination?" Classic Disney line! If you know you know, and we know. I always find myself saying it along with the show. After that you are merged into a short que line. This is literally the worse part of the line. Everyone is flooded together and has to combine into a single file line. Usually, the case members are yelling move forward, fill in all spaces and then all of a sudden you have to merge into one small single file line. Everyone is pushing and shoving, and it truly is terrible. My wife is a tad claustrophobic and has anxiety, so we usually wait till everyone has come out of the stretching room and stand behind the group. The ride itself, takes you through the mansion all the way to the attic, and then to the backyard. There is something to see in every corner. It is very dark, so children could be scared. There is a lap bar so you cannot jump out either. There is one part where your vehicle goes backwards. Recently they have also added the hat box ghost into the ride. He was a very much anticipated addition, and it is a super cool effect. This is probably my favorite ride at the park. All in all, this is a great ride. It is one of our favorite attractions at Magic Kingdom and one we must always go on. If the line is long, keep an eye on it, there are shorter times throughout the day that will be a shorter wait. I would recommend checking it out.

The Haunted Mansion in Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida is simply the best ride in the entire park. The ride is a mix of fun and scary, but not too scary for younger kids. The attraction is stunning just looking at the architecture of the mansion and all of the details with decorations inside of the ride itself - especially in the stretching room before you board your "doom buggy". The ride itself is throughout the mansion and slow and dark - it is maybe 10 minutes long. This is one of the original Walt Disney's ride creations, and I hope that it stays in the park forever, it's the original, scary, dark theme park ride. This is the ride you must go on if you visit Magic Kingdom. Enter if you dare, foolish mortal!

This is an iconic classic and a must ride every time we visit the park. The line is usually long but moves quickly and there is plenty to see in the queue. Whether young or old it is a favorite for all park visitors. The music, the bucket seats and the dark eerie venue create the perfect atmosphere for a journey that can be enjoyed again and again. HOT TIP: Secret crypto gram hidden in the bookshelf, if you have time try to solve the puzzle!

The first thing to note is that you must have a special event ticket to the Halloween Party, normal day guests will need to leave before the party starts. There are 2 parade times and the parade will start in Frontierland and make it's way to Main Street. We prefer and always recommend the second parade as it is less crowded and easier to find a space to watch the parade. If you want to sit down and watch it I would recommend grabbing a spot early as this is one of the most popular parades. It is one of my personal favorite. The parade starts with the best part of the parade, the headless horseman. He rides the entire parade path and it is so incredibly neat to see! You must see if at least once. The parade has a very catchy tune as well. During the parade it is very different than the daytime parade. The characters have Halloween costumes on and there are more villains. Another favorite spot is the gravediggers from the Haunted Mansion. They drag their shovels on the ground and actually make sparks. Its very neat to see! Overall this is a great parade! I love it. You can only see it during the Halloween party but if you go, this is a must see even if you are watching just a few moments. I highly recommend it.

But as a random person, we didn't really have a bad experience. Magic Kingdom is not an amusement park, it's a theme park. I feel I enjoy Marvel and Star Wars more than most other properties and I still think Disney has catching up to do with Universal Studios. It's a better world over there. There is a lot of Disney "Magic" though. You have to pay for it, but like Disney, you throw enough money at a problem and it does appear better.

I thought maybe that was because this ride opened around the same time as the movie in 1989. However, I was a bit surprised to learn after the fact that this ride actually opened 23 years after the movie, in late 2012. On the ride, you board clamshells that take you on an adventure under the sea. Pretty much all the characters from the movie make an appearance and the ride is filled with Alan Menken and Howard Ashman's popular songs like "Part of Your World," "Under the Sea," "Poor Unfortunate Souls," and "Kiss the Girl." The "Under the Sea" song and dance segment is bright and colorful. It reminds me of going to E.T.'s planet in the E.T. Adventure ride at Universal Studios. It's a festive party; both rides have that neon-colored, crowded "creature party" aesthetic. During our visit, the animatronic Ariel in this section was broken and inanimate. Kind of funny and creepy. During the "Kiss the Girl" segment, the plastic water coming out of the fishes' mouths didn't look great. It added to the overall sort of "knock-off" and kitschy look of the ride. Also, right before the end of the final scene with King Triton and the wedding of Ariel and Eric, the ride stopped on us. So, I was able to get a good, long look at the different animatronics and scenery. Finally, I thought the transitions between the high-quality video and the actual practical physical ride props were a bit jarring. Other rides do it better like, for example, the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros at EPCOT. We had Lightning Lane passes at around 1:47 PM on a non-holiday Monday and experienced no line and no wait.

It is a slow moving ride that goes on a flat track and will move your clamshell 365 degrees, as well as going backwards and tipping backwards as well. It does not spin fast and as someone who gets motion sickness, you should be fine. The seat has a lap bar for the entire row and is not comfortable at all. It is a very hard bench. I find this ride becoming more of a favorite probably since it is super cute and the line is never very long. The line can get long at times, but I recommend waiting until the wait drops below 20 minutes. The line starts outside which has little shade and is very hot in the summer, but then moves inside, where the majority of the line is. Inside it is covered and much cooler. It is actually really dark inside and my eyes always have to adjust. This ride is very colorful, very musical and very fun. If you know this movie, you are going through the story quickly. There are a few dark areas throughout the ride as well as a couple of loud parts. This rides also "stops" as well. There is not a time we have been on this that it did not have a stop for a a minute or so. This ride is designed for children, however, as an adult, it is becoming a favorite of mine. It is nice long ride, that you can sit and relax. This is a must go in the summer for us! Cool, AC, sitting down, sign me up! I would recommend this ride but only when the line is 20 minutes or less. Otherwise, wait and come back later.

The ride goes inside and out--you'll go through Space Mountain and also see Cinderella Castle, the Tomorrowland Speedway, and the retro-futuristic Astro Orbiter (to name a few attractions). I love the 1920s and 30s pulp science fiction and 1960s Space Age look (Googie architecture) of Tomorrowland. The PeopleMover at Magic Kingdom opened in 1975 (four years after the park opened) and includes a model of Progress City, Walt Disney's vision for EPCOT in the 1960s. The PeopleMover actually stopped on us when we were next to the diorama of Progress City, so I got to look at it for a while. I found the seats in the vehicles to be quite comfortable with good lower back support. There was no Lightning Lane for the PeopleMover. On a non-holiday Monday around 4:00 PM, the line was long. We waited about 10-15 minutes, which felt like a long time since we had been using Lightning Lanes for most of our recent trip to Disney World. This is the only Disney PeopleMover still in operation. I hope it never closes. The PeopleMover in Tomorrowland at Disneyland (California) opened in 1967 and closed in 1995.

Theres a place for you to keep your bag and loose items (make sure you do that) and then you "take off". The ride is very smooth- you won't get motion sickness, and it's not one of those where you need the 3-d goggles so anyone can do it. It's a great ride for the whole family, I'd highly recommend it!

Now featuring a new United States of America-centric version commemorating our semiquincentennial (props to myself for word use here), Disney proves that this platform is great in any format. The queue has been improved since I last visited, now featuring opportunities to interact with your fellow travelers by way of a U.S. trivia game projected onto the walls. This made for a fun way to keep things lively and interactive while waiting, rather than reverting to self-isolating on phone screens. The video intro is the same as it ever was, except with a new brief intro by Patrick Warburton reprising his air host role. *spoilers follow!* The beginning of this new version is genuinely thrilling, riding alongside the amazing SLS rocket as it takes off from it's launch pad. The size of the screen here and the rumble from the speakers is breathtaking, you feel like you're flying with the rocket. More scenes of the wonderous lands of North America follow, from cities, to national parks, and the characteristic Disney tinkerbell ending. Still a classic after all these years and iterations and a favorite among our group on this day.
