This is a fantastic looking theater. Huge, and two stories. The XD theater is phenomenal, with comfortable seats, a nice screen, and superb audio. And it couldn't be located any better right outside of Universal Studios. I had only interacted with a few of the wraps there, but the staff seemed friendly. The theater appeared to be very clean, with it really modern presentation of everything. My only thing, is that it was colder than the witches... I don't know, personality. I went from hot and humid outside to shivering for about 2 and 1/2 hours, hoping that I don't get sick. My only comfort was my popcorn, but it was cold and rubbery. So I can't say it ever eat the popcorn there ever again. Popcorn is one of those make it or break it variables in life. It's really hard to mess up fresh popped popcorn. Maybe it's just their combination of vendors or something, or just not enough guests to keep it continuously popping. For that, I docked it a star. If I could, a star and a half. Two stars would have felt unreasonable, but it doesn't allow me to do one and a half stars so I'll just have to settle with the minus one. read more

We ended our visit at the movies before making the road trip back home. If you purchase two matinee tickets before a 6:00 p.m. show, Cinemark will validate your parking receipt and give you the money back for it. Going to the movies can be expensive these days, so it really helps out a lot to save some bucks. We got two popcorn combos with a candy and a drink to enjoy during the movie. The seats and theater was very clean and cozy. The weird part was the restrooms and where they were located. You either go up or downstairs to a movie, but the restrooms are in the middle. There's no way that can be changed unless the whole building is remodeled. It was a nice experience overall. read more

This is a complex with multiple theaters and when I saw the blankets for sale in the lobby I laughed. Like anything at a theme park, it was twice the price of a retail store for a similar item. I prefer the Cinemark location at International and Oakridge for two reasons. This theater requires you to go through Universal security to access the complex at Universal CityWalk. So not only do you have to park in one of the 'spoke and wheel' designed garages, you have to queue up and depending on how busy Universal is that day you may have a significant delay walking to the theater. If it is before 6 pm they may require you to pay a daily parking fee. The Universal Citywalk Cinemark has embraced a new movie theater trend where they have one bathroom near the entrance. I prefer the one on International Drive because they have several bathrooms on different corridors. This one you may have to walk a significant distance and up and down stairs to use the facilities. If this is during the movie then you miss more of the show. Don't wait too long! Like most Cinemark theaters I found the auditorium clean and the seat numbers were easy to identify. The sound and projection system was top notch. read more

I am writing to formally complain about the extremely unprofessional and disrespectful treatment my party received at Cinemark Universal CityWalk, specifically from Manager on Duty Luisa and employee Ruben. On the evening of our visit, our group of 11 arrived at Universal CityWalk excited to watch a movie. Upon entering CityWalk, security asked for identification to verify that at least one member of our party was over 21 years old. We fully understood this requirement and complied. In fact, six members of our party presented valid IDs showing they were well over 21. One member of our group had unfortunately lost their wallet during the trip and did not have physical identification available. Despite having already verified multiple adults over 21, we were given unnecessary difficulty before eventually being allowed inside. The real issue began when we arrived at Cinemark. We were once again asked to provide identification. Since we were attending an R-rated movie, we understood the policy to be that guests under 17 must be accompanied by an adult, and we had numerous adults present who were well above the required age. However, Ruben, the employee checking tickets, was immediately dismissive and refused to work with us regarding a digital ID from one member of our group, despite the fact that multiple other members were clearly over the age requirement. His attitude was disrespectful, and rather than attempting to resolve the situation professionally, he escalated it. We then requested a manager, and Luisa arrived. Unfortunately, her conduct was even more disappointing. She immediately approached the situation with statements such as, "You guys are having the same issue," and claimed that it had been "the law since the 80s" that identification must be shown. Throughout the interaction, she repeatedly stated there was "nothing she could do." What made this particularly frustrating was the inconsistency in enforcement. We observed Ruben allowing individuals who appeared older to enter without being asked for identification. When this was brought to Luisa's attention, her response was that if Ruben thought someone looked under 17, he could ask anyone he wanted for identification. This explanation raised even more concerns because the policy appeared to be based entirely on subjective judgment rather than consistent application. The situation became even more contradictory when Luisa later told us that she would have allowed us into the movie if we had been "nice" to her. This statement directly conflicted with her earlier claim that there was "nothing" she could do because it was supposedly the law. If the policy was mandatory, then personal feelings should not have influenced the outcome. If discretion existed, then her earlier statements were misleading. As we were leaving to obtain a refund, one member of our group stayed behind and successfully de-escalated the situation. When we briefly returned inside, another member of our party respectfully expressed that the experience had felt unfair and that policies should be enforced consistently for all guests. Luisa responded by stating that she personally checks all IDs. When I replied that employees should be trained to do the same to avoid situations like this in the future, she became defensive and told me, "You don't have to talk to me like that. As a matter of fact, stop talking." At that point, I asked for her name. Rather than professionally identifying herself as a manager, she covered her name tag and stated that it was none of my business. This behavior was particularly concerning from someone in a leadership position who should be setting an example for customer service and accountability. read more

I love this movie theater! Tonight I came to see Deadpool and Wolverine in the XD and it was amazing! I love that the screen is bigger and the sound system is crazy! The chairs are recliners and have a little table. I got a slurpee and on the bottom floor you can just walk up and get more slurpee which I did but towards the end my husband went to the front and asked for a refill and you can't get a refill?, but you could just go downstairs to get one? Not sure what's going on there but they need to fix that situation. read more

I absolutely love this movie theater. Some days it can be really busy as well as some nights. However this afternoon I have nothing better to do and it's kind of chilly out so I decided to go see a movie. I noticed that the before it gets busy matinee movie tickets are only $10.95. So I decided to go see a movie that I've been wanting to see which is night swim. Not only is this theater always clean, the staff are also very nice and it's really warm inside. I was seated in theater seven and yes I was the only one in the whole movie theater it was pretty awesome it made it be movie experience extra eerie. If you haven't been here before I definitely recommend it it is located right after you get through security right on the right hand side across from Bubba Gump. 10 at a time I definitely recommend this movie theater. read more

It's a movie theater that doesn't offer in-theater dining. So, it's not my first choice. It's at citywalk, which means to get to it you have to deal with parking in the universal complex and walking a 1/2 a mile to the theater. If you're in the area, it's ok. I came here to watch Saw X in auditorium 1. Important: If your movie showing & parking is before 6pm, you get the parking validation $30 cash or card. During Halloween horror nights parking is not free but it usually is after 6pm. Concessions: Pricing is pretty decent for the portions & with movie rewards (Cinemark's loyalty program) they are 25% off. Large popcorn is good enough for 2-3 people. Medium 2 people & small 1 person. The x-large refillable is good for big parties. Medium size drink is good for 2 people. Movie experience: All theaters have reclining seats (luxury loungers) even standard showing. The seats are comfortable; I think next time I will bring antibacterial wipes & clean them myself before sitting. Theater was clean enough. Despite that it's not in a premium format (dbox, imax, etc), it still was a pleasant experience. Sound was decent & image quality was good. Next time I'm sitting closer so I feel like I'm in imax lol The theater has 2 floors and is huge. No arcade. Bar on first floor & concessions on each floor. If you're watching a standard format movie, I'd definitely go with Cinemark over AMC just for their luxury loungers (reclining seats). I go regularly to Universal. However, it was my first time going to Cinemark in this location. The inside is big with a cool design. Also, the time I went, my partner and I were the only ones looking at the movie. It felt like having a VIP experience with the auditorium just for us. Also, I was surprised about the sound. Saw Taylor Swift's Eras Tour here the first Friday in November. It was a matinee showing, which meant that the $30 Universal parking fee was refunded to me (in cash) at the ticket office. I had purchased our seats ahead of time online. The entire Cinemark was pretty calm and not busy, we were able to quickly get concessions (Coca Cola Freestyle machines) before heading to our theater. My son loves that he can put his own butter on his popcorn. The pretzel bites were good. The bathroom was clean. Our only complaint was that it was freezing. I could not tell you the last time I was here at this theater but at the last minute we decided to see Ant Man. The entire park had hardly any visitors and we ended up with being 2 of the 3 in the entire showing. The seats were super comfortable and loved that I could recline. We sat on the 2nd row from the back. The only downfall is that it is a very long way to the bathroom as there are none by the theaters. The place was immaculately cleaned. We brought in our refillable universal cup -full and we got no kick back. However, you cannot get refills from it from their free style machines. We did not eat or drink while there today. We were happy that we got a matinee price for 10.25 each. If you want to pre buy your tickets you need to download the app to make a purchase but we walked in and used the kiosk to buy tickets with no issue. read more

It was an exceedingly hot day and I had some time to kill at CityWalk, so I figured I'd catch a movie in a nice, air-conditioned theater. The place was completely empty when I got there, and I was impressed by how well-maintained the whole place was. I stepped into my auditorium and I was pretty surprised by the deluxe seating. These are the kinds of seats we pay big money for here in Canada. The movie I selected, Consecration, was terrible, but at least I was comfortable. However, I do have to say that the volume was way, way too low. I had to struggle to make out the dialogue in some of the quieter scenes. It was an unfortunate occurrence within an otherwise stellar experience. read more

Went here for the first time since 2006. Wow, it has changed. I'm not sure for the better? We watched the movie. The movie was fine. The seats were comfy. The theater was ok. Even though it felt like we watched nearly 20-30minutes of trailers before the movie. We came when it was Halloween Horror nights + a high school homecoming happening at Hard Rock. So you had to pay for parking. And the theater was empty. Like, abnormally so. Maybe only saw 30 people in total between buying a ticket, getting snacks and getting to the theater. I told my partner that people aren't going to come pay for parking and then watch a movie. The theater just felt like a shell of itself. Also, will give to to this theater, their food and snack prices are shockingly cheap(er) than what you'd expect. Does it have to do that they're in CityWalk which means they're competing with restaurants and other snack places? Probably. But that's a big plus in my book. The only ick thing was the drink soda machines. Nearly all of them had no ice, several were out of a variety of drinks, and dang, do they need someone to wipe the screen and machines down - because they needed a good cleaning. I'd go here again to watch a movie if I was already at CityWalk. read more

This Cinemark is a really great movie theater. The seats seem to be upgraded recliner seats they seem to be more soft and comfortable than the recliner seats and other theaters plus they recline all the way down flat. It's easy to walk to Universal Cinemark . I always thought it was a really long walk but it seems like now they have moving sidewalk almost the whole way there and that is a big help. If you go there before 6 PM and have to pay for parking Cinemark will reimburse you if you buy two tickets to a matinee movie. If you go after 6 PM Florida residents can park for free but check the parking on the Internet because they do change their policies depending on the season. I might add that the popcorn is also very good at this theater. . read more

Worst experience I've ever had. I went to go see the Minecraft movie and two girls were sitting next to us and were talking and clapping the whole time. I asked them politely to stop because we couldn't hear the movie and they laughed in my face. I think I got to watch about 15 minutes of actual movie before they started making more noise. Very disrespectful. I couldn't hear any of the movie. We had to leave half way through. No one walked through the movie at any point to make sure no one was on their phone or talking or anything. read more

Arrived at 5:38 for the 7pm Indiana Jones premiere at this theater. We could have chosen others, but it's a nice theater. We wanted to allot time for the long walk, for security, to get concessions, and get in our seats before the previews. Universal went out of its way to disappoint us and make sure we never attend a movie here again! We'll start with the $30 parking fee that's waived if you arrive after 6pm. Despite our receipt showing $175 in movie tickets for a 7pm show, we were obliged to pay this fee. Posting that policy when the customer is purchasing tickets would be most helpful! But they don't, because then less folks would come right? We then got our party to the theater by 6pm. Sorry! We know you want to buy our overpriced concessions, but You can't go in! The policy is no entry to the lobby more than 30 minutes before showtime. We don't want overcrowding, but there were maybe 20 people in the lobby. The policy was ironclad we were told. No exceptions! This is so incredibly shortsighted. By screwing the customer this way you are making CERTAIN that we'll never come back. I can't believe how such a simple transaction was made so negative by the clueless management at this place. Do not recommend!!!! read more

I went to a Wednesday matinee showing of Avatar 2 in 3D and XD (vibrating seats) yesterday. Cost for senior citizens like me is $13.05 ($15 after the Fandango Sevice Fee). Normally I don't use a service like this and simply buy my tickets at the box office. But we wanted to be sure that we could reserve good viewing seats. The 3D experience for this film was FANTASTIC. I highly recommend it! The reclining seats were VERY COMFORTABLE. Don't worry about the 3 hour 10 minute running time (NO INTERMISSION), this movie is quite exciting from beginning to end. Definitely worth a repeat viewing. The theater was clean, the bathrooms were IMMACULATE! There were only 3 of us in the theater for this 2PM matinee! read more

This is not where you go if you just want to see a movie as it is a far walk from the parking lot plus you have to pay $32 if you enter before 6pm. However, what they don't tell you is that that you can get a cash refund of your parking fee if you show the cinema cashier your parking receipt and at least 2 movie tickets. read more

I really like this theater. They have a great XD theater. It's huge! The seats are the type that fully recline. One current update is that they are not having the free refills on popcorn and drinks. My favorite thing to do at the theater is to get a giant tub of popcorn and Slurpee's. In good news, they now have kettle corn popcorn that you can get instead of the standard popcorn. It is the bomb! People that work at the theater are very professional and friendly. They also do a very good job of keeping the theater clean and the bathrooms as well. read more

Nice theater, if you see a movie in an auditorium with recliner seats. When I had a complication getting reimbursed for parking, two managers showed up when there was a call for a manager. My movie-mate was deaf. Having had many problems with the closed caption devices, I asked the manger to test the device. She followed up and made sure the device was working within seconds of the main feature starting. Prices at his theater are average. Parking at Universal costs $25 per day. If you see a movie between 12 noon at 6pm you'll get reimbursed for parking, but don't loose your receipt. Paying for parking would be a tragedy at those prices. This theater gets a very rare 5-star review, mainly for comfort and customer service. read more
