I stopped in while visiting Omaha. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance was nice but seating could be a bit more comfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Drinks were average. I had an Old Fashion. Alcohol content was good, but flavor was average. I've had much better and much worse. The cigar, JFR, was rather under humidified and wrapper was cracking/peeling away. Ash trays were also an issue as there was no holder, so you either carefully balanced it or it fell on the table. Some minor improvements could really help its overall appeal.

    AJ Fuente Reserve...good smoke!

Service here is great. Cigar selection ok... but did not have my Nub Connecticut brand. Inside is super cool and alcohol selection is very good. Great prices.

This is a definite must when in Omaha,NE. The bartender Kyler is very knowledgeable and professional. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is perfect to relax and enjoy a good smoke and drink with friends or alone.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If I lived here this would be my hangout.

We love coming here for a nightcap or as our main venue. It's cozy, the music is great, enough room to sit and enjoy the atmosphere and people watch, and a great bourbon/whiskey/scotch collection! We've always had good experiences here, but I have to say, it's a summer locale. The smoke really is way too much in the winter with the ventilation system they have. They open the garage doors in the summer so it's open and airy, but in the winter the smoke inside can be overwhelming after a few minutes. A great place to check out, especially in the summer.

My sister-in-law made dinner arrangements at Twisted Fork early enough that we could get to Havana Garage in time to listen to live music from 8-11 pm. We LOVED Havana Garage. We had different servers but my favorite was Andrea McCain. I asked if she was the owner because she was incredibly invested in each table to would stop at; cutting cigars, lighting cigars, offering ideas on drinks. The music was a 2 man band and they invited a female up to sing who absolutely wow'd the crowd. All 4 of us in our party enjoyed our night. Thank you Havana Garage!!

Cigars and cocktails with good company made for a wonderful evening. I was there seven years ago which was the last time I was in Omaha. It's especially great in the summer when you can watch the many people walking around.

A small portion of their whisky selection.

In Omaha on business and hunting a place to watch the National Championship between Alabama and Georgia. After telling her I am a cigar smoker, the Uber driver (Rita) from the airport suggested I try Havana Garage. It is a nice downtown place in an entertainment area called the Old Market. Plenty of bars and restaurants. The Havana Garage is a good sized place, with bar seating for about a dozen and high-tops and tables for another thirty or so. They have a small humidor, with a modest assortment. However, they also own a cigar shop about thirty yards from the lounge. The cigar store has an impressive selection at very good prices. I am a beer drinker, which they certainly have, but the bar's forte is clearly whiskey and such. They had a large selection of everything from daily drinkers up to Macallan M and some very high-end The Belvene. I grabbed a seat at the bar, fired up the cigar I purchased from their nearby shop and got an ice-cold beer. The bartender was knowledgeable and friendly. If you ever find yourself in downtown Omaha and are looking for a good cigar bar, the Havana Garage is a great choice. Highly recommend.

The Council Bluffs 100 Block is the oldest commercial neighborhood in the metro area. Dating back…read moreto 1853, most of the block's buildings celebrated their sesquicentennial a couple of presidents ago. Omaha's first newspaper was printed on this block. This block is older than the invention of cocktails, imagine that. It was pretty rough and full of scoundrels in those halcyon days: journalists, lawyers, land speculators, railroad magnates, Abraham Lincoln. Eventually things improved as saloons, social clubs, gambling halls and bordellos moved in. Today, the 100 Block is to Council Bluffs what Buckhead is to Atlanta and a new whiskey bar called The Barrel is in the middle of it. The Barrel is a swanky, crafty, well-appointed, beautifully decorated, two-story lounge featuring cocktails made according to original recipes with top shelf brands. No mixes, no shortcuts. Every drink is a double just as our shameless forebears intended them. The interior is full of local art including the Barrel sign over the bar. It's well lit with high ceilings reflecting the warmth of the architecture and the staff.     The night I stopped in was moderately busy for a Friday night before 9 p.m. A dozen or so patrons filled the upstairs bar room before wandering downstairs to the more lounge-y Bottom of the Barrel. This is where the bands play and the furnishings swing more to the comfortable side of things. There is a bar here as well, but the craft cocktails were being made upstairs that night. So back upstairs, I asked for a recommendation to show me the takeaway, the thing I should know about The Barrel. Now normally, if a bartender recommends a whiskey sour I assume he thinks I'm in high school or doesn't want a tip, but the gregarious gent behind the bar that night was telling sincere stories, and not just with his beautiful scalp tattoos. The Whiskey Sour was a great place to start. The simple classic has been denigrated for decades by shortcuts and mixes. But this Whiskey Sour is born again hard made with Cody Road Rye, fresh lemon, egg white and love for only $8. Spectacular. And foamy. There is a literal wall of 130 whiskeys at The Barrel Each shelf is higher than the last. Your taste is limited only by your credit. Their Old Fashioned had me at spherical ice, but I intend to return for more classics (Manhattan, Negroni, Tom Collins) or clever originals (Brockway Bulldog, Baltimore Zoo or The Night is Dark and Full of Terror). And there's beer. Exile Beatnik Sour and Lagunitas IPA ($5), Burning Skye Scottish Ale, Lucky Bucket Wide Eye Coffee Stout, Millstream Pale Ale, Brickway Maple Pecan Brown Ale, Empyrean Dark Side Vanilla Porter ($4.50) and Bud Light ($3). There is live music on Fridays and Saturdays, an open jam from 4-8 Sundays followed by an open mic until close, and comedy every second Wednesday. The Bottom of the Barrel has $3 premium wells on weekends and there is never a cover. With drinks like this, it's obvious why our ancestors were so unapologetic about drinking doubles.

Popcorn and Cocktails (PaC) is such a cool idea for a business…read more The interior is so cute and almost a 20s vintage vibe with a cool Omaha mural. We first visited PaC at a Yelp event, but now we are hooked on their popcorn! The cocktails portion of Popcorn and Cocktails is nothing to sneeze at either. They are super smooth and flavorful, and the perfect pairing with a little side of popcorn. They even have pairings on their menu that show you which popcorns go best with each cocktail (and each cocktail actually comes with a side of that popcorn). If you like your side of popcorn that came with your cocktail, you can also purchase a large bag of it to take home! Our favorite popcorns have been the French Toast, Bourbon Bacon Cheddar, and Peanut Butter. They have popcorns for every craving - savory or sweet. And the cocktail we've liked the best was the Summer Peach - which literally came with a peach candy on the rim! So easy to drink and a little sweet. Popcorn with cocktails might sound like an odd combination, but PaC does it perfectly and will convert you to a fan of this combo!!
