Great outside patio

Such a chill place. Live music. Good drinks. Our server, Jasmin. Was awesome. Food was good. Can't wait to come back.

What a fun and welcoming tiki bar set right in the waterfront. We came here from a recommendation from our wonderful Airbnb host who mentioned they had a Happy Hour menu. We sat at the bar and we're immediately greeted by Bill the bartender. Super nice guy! He gave us a few local beer recommendations, which we really enjoyed. (Crazy Lady & Iguana Bite beer). Perfect for the warm day. We ordered Coconut shrimp and mango chili wings to tie us over until dinner. The shrimp was amazing! And the wings were wonderful and flavorful. We mentioned to Bill we would likely be back later that night for dinner. He said they were open until 11 which was great, as much of Marathon seems to close early. They had a band setting up, which we didn't stay long enough to hear but hoped to be back later to possibly catch. This place has a vibe! Comfy sofas, high tops, huge circular bar, TV's, band, friendly staff. Just the perfect place to just relax and let the ocean breeze and laid-back lifestyle take over. The bathrooms were clean and even offered small amenities like, spray deodorant, mouthwash, body spray & lotion. Parking was easy. We liked this place so much we came back later that night for dinner just before 10 o'clock. We sat down in the same barstools and smiled at Bill who was still there and said "we're back". We started looking at a menu that was left on the counter, but already had an idea of what we wanted from looking at it earlier that day. I was so excited about the bisque soup the cook mentioned he made that day. Then Bill said, if you're looking for food, the kitchen closed at 9:30 and that there was nothing, food wise available. Ugh.. we were so disappointed, as we looked forward to coming back for dinner and nowhere on the website or even told to us earlier, that the kitchen closed earlier than the venue itself. We literally had 5 minutes until 10, when Sparky's down the street closed, and picked up and head over with a frantic call to place a last minute order so we could have dinner. I would have given this place 5 stars but it was really disappointing to not been told this information when we were there. I think it's a missed opportunity for a restaurant/bar to not provide food for the last hour and a half, especially when it's over of the only places that closes the latest on the key. I really recommend they add their kitchen hours to their website and maybe seven have a sign at the restaurant with the hours. Just a bummer. But still a solid place overall. We would come back, should we ever be back in the Florida Keys.

So, I want to start by saying that we came in with a party of 18. We did call ahead to make sure we could be accommodated. They gave us the okay, and they seated us near each other, but at separate tables, but this was fine. We sat outside and the atmosphere was great with live music. However, the service wasn't great. When our server actually came around he was good about getting the sauces and what not we were asking for, but he did not come around a whole lot. On top of that, in fine print on the menu, it states that there will be a 3% increase on all food due to rising prices. This just feels like a really shady thing to do. Like just increase the price on the menu. I did the blackened fish tacos which somehow ended up being a bit bland. A person who got the grouper sandwich said it was terrible and overcooked. The chicken sandwich was also overcooked. The restaurant was also incredibly weird about a splitting the check, and altering specifics of the food.

Walked in and the sign says wait to be seated. No one around. Waited for two minutes no one came, so we walked around the corner. One of the waitresses says oh I was just going to get you. Ordered and got drinks and food in a reasonable amount of time. My cuban quesadilla was incorrect. Wrong cheese and chicken on it. I had to seek out a waitress because no one came back. Our waitress eventually came over to the table and I told her it didn't have the right ingredients on it. She took it and came back in approximately 10 minutes with the correct quesadilla. It had square lunchmeat ham slices on it with a little pork and some cheese sprinkled in the middle. Side salad was quite generic dressing was good. I would not go back.

Great drinks, great staff! Thanks to Bridget and Bill for making us feel so welcome! We didn't eat, so can't speak to the food!

Going over the reviews there's nothing I can say that hasn't been said before. The vibes and the views of this restaurant are great. We came in for dinner with the family and the service was fantastic. The food took a while to come to the table but absolutely everything we had we enjoyed and was delicious. I do recommend the food 100% , however everything is extremely overpriced. Exp Wings $18 side of potatoes $8 ribeye $60 grouper sandwich $25. We been in the keys different times and I know prices here can be high but this location seemed to be on the higher end. Again everything was delicious and service was good. But prices were high. I would recommend for the food .

Delicious option on compact Colony Key. Breezy, relaxed waterfront dining with good music. The steamer pot in red sauce was absolutely delicious and we enjoyed our other selections as well! Service was quick and efficient.

Had to leave our seats for this. Wow..decide what you want? Why throw loyal steady customers out of seats. Many other empty seats. DON'T TRUST THEM!

Linguine with homemade pasta.

So as I understand that they have a brand new Chef! Their specials last night was grilled swordfish over an eggplant onion, caponata , and clams with homemade linguine pasta! I can't tell you how happy I am that I finally found a restaurant that knows how to cook swordfish! It was so succulent! My husband had the clams and linguine boy that is a delicious pasta. Service was on point and very attentive.

SINGLE. THING. was unreal. Like, not one weak item on the table. But let me be clear -- that shrimp po' boy??? ABSOLUTELY STOLE THE SHOW. I'd go back for that alone. The whole place has that perfect outdoor Keys vibe -- laid back, great energy, just straight-up good times. And the service?? Top tier. Olivia and Mikey were on point the entire time -- super friendly, nailed the order, and made the experience even better. Huge respect to the kitchen too -- Marcus and Chapel are putting out some seriously special food. You can TASTE the effort and care in every bite. This place isn't just good... it's the kind of spot you think about after you leave. A spot you talk about until you go back. We'll 1000% be back. Probably way too soon

Upon approaching the bar we looked over the menu and promptly ordered. A stationary food truck doled out scrumptious grub, delivered in a timely fashion. We really enjoyed all items and the beer was refreshing. It wasn't very busy when we first arrived, but it started to fill in more so during our visit. The surfer/hippie vibe throughout the grounds heightened my vacation mode. It's exactly the chill setting I was craving. Walking around the garden, hopping on the standing swing, sitting in hammock chairs, playing the hook and ring game, and checking out the shop were all leisure bliss.

But it isn't a good restaurant, in any way. As several other reviewers have said, the service is terrible and the food isn't good. We were staying at the resort and came right when they opened for breakfast, but for whatever reason, they decided to help another larger group first, that arrived well after us. The larger group got their food and left before we even got our food. The servers largely ignored us the entire time, even though they were super attentive to other groups. I'm not sure what we did to bother the staff so much besides arriving right at 7 am, but the experience was terrible and we won't be back here even though we have a food credit through the resort. Not that it will do any good, but we will be reaching out to the hotel management because they clearly have a problem here. I don't think they care because they have a captive audience on the resort that is always new. If you're staying at the resort , this is not a place to actually eat a meal.

The restaurant is tucked away on a back street, far from the usual tourist spots, which adds to its charm. The food is authentic Cuban cuisine -- and I say that after decades of living in and around Hudson County, NJ, where the Cuban community is large and vibrant. At El Siboney, everything tastes fresh and homemade, with generous portions and prices that are refreshingly reasonable for Key West. This visit, I ordered the whole fried yellow snapper, served with yuca, yellow rice, and beans. My dinner companion had the Siboney skirt steak, one of the restaurant's popular dishes, served with a choice of sides. Both meals were excellent. Dessert was equally impressive: a delicious slice of tres leches cake and silky vanilla custard that were the perfect ending to the meal. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience. Dinner for two, including dessert and tip, came to about $100 -- a great value for the quality and quantity of food. El Siboney remains one of my favorite places to eat in Key West.

While I was checking it out, the bouncer at the bar next door told me it was worth a visit, which sealed the deal. Later that evening, I convinced my friends to go with me. They were expecting a full sit-down dinner, but this is more of a counter-service spot with 6-7 bar stools inside. The setup is simple: place your order at the counter, then either grab a stool or head to the bar next door, where they'll bring your food when it's ready. We chose the bar's patio, which gave us a clear view of the restaurant. It was reassuring to see other groups having their meals delivered over too--it felt like we had discovered the right local gem. The wait was about 25-30 minutes, but that only confirmed everything was being made fresh. And let me tell you, it was absolutely worth it. Our group ordered two jerk chicken plates with plantains, mac n' cheese, and slaw; one oxtail with black beans, rice, and mac n' cheese; and one jerk burger with fries. Every single dish was a hit. The jerk chicken had that perfect smoky spice and heat from the scotch bonnet peppers, balanced with bold Caribbean flavors. The oxtail was tender and flavorful, and even the sides like mac n' cheese and plantains stood out. All in all, this was easily one of the best Caribbean meals I've had anywhere. A true must try when in Key West.
