She pretty much put a custom meal together for me. The shrimp was outstanding, loved the breading! Rice and sauce was great, as was the potato salad. The corn bread was wonderful. The food was piping hot. The sweet tea was so fresh it was warm and she gave me a cup of ice. I was halfway done with my meal and she asked I wanted some pie, and that was good. I'm sad I don't live closer or I'd utilize their catering business! Makes a great stop before flying home!

While somewhat amusing, it wasn't an ideal welcome as we waited over 5 minutes to view a menu and be attended to. The menu is limited to daily options. There are a few items available daily. I got the fried pork chop with 3 sides. It didn't look immediately appetizing but the pork chop was soooooo good! I wish I would have gotten another one bc it was so tender but crisp. Definitely surprised me. The potato salad had a nice touch of pickle or relish? Over all, delicious meal. The almond cake was really good too! It reminded me of a Dominican cake without the merengue.

Everything appears carefully considered and efficiently executed. The layout is purposeful, the operation is remarkably well organized, the space is impeccably clean, and the presentation of the products is both attractive and inviting. The restaurant's steady stream of customers throughout much of the day is hardly surprising. There is an obvious rhythm and efficiency to the operation, yet it never feels rushed or chaotic. Instead, there is a sense that every component of the business has been thoughtfully orchestrated. The staff further reinforces this impression. They are exceptionally friendly, courteous, and accommodating, but what stands out most is their knowledge. They are able to answer questions, offer guidance, and navigate the extensive menu with confidence, making the experience both comfortable and enjoyable. And the menu itself is a destination. It offers an impressive range of choices, with an appealing variety of meats, sandwiches, sides, and beverages. There is far too much temptation to reasonably expect one visit to be sufficient. In fact, choosing what to order may be the most difficult part of the experience. Their version of the muffuletta an outstanding of the original. Particularly their version of the bread, which was fresh, and warmly toasted renders it a cut above. Cochon Butcher is therefore a restaurant best approached with the intention of returning. One visit gives you an introduction; several visits allow you to truly appreciate the breadth of what they do. The combination of organization, cleanliness, quality, knowledgeable service, and an extensive menu makes Cochon Butcher a particularly impressive example of how a busy restaurant can operate with both efficiency and character.

We noticed a guy sitting by himself and offered to buy him a beer if he'd let us join him at his table. He said yes, and it ended up being part of the fun experience! The food was excellent. We ordered the Cochon Muffaletta, which was huge, packed with flavor, and definitely a must-try. The mac & cheese is an absolute MUST--creamy, cheesy, rich, and easily one of my favorite things we ordered. The beer was great too and paired perfectly with the food. The atmosphere is casual, lively, and exactly the kind of place you want to experience while in New Orleans. 5/5 -- great food, great beer, and absolutely worth the visit. I would definitely come back!

This fun joint also provides a good choice of daily specials. You walk in and get in line then start looking at the menu and checking out the daily specials to decide what you will eat. The ambiance is very interesting with food items all over the place like a little tightly packed grocery store. This spot is VERY popular which leads to the biggest problem here which is parking. The parking here is very limited and it is a bit of a challange to get in and out of the parking lot. Many people say this is their favorite spot to eat and it seems a lot of folks come here nearly daily to get their World Deli fix taken care of. Overall you have a lot of great options and they have enough variety that most folks should find something that will make them happy.

My MIL brought me here for the first time in '93 and she and her friends still come for lunch a few times a month as do most people who've lived here their whole life. Parking is tight but don't let that keep you away from the World. Yesterday, I went in for meatballs and red sauce but quickly took a detour when I saw the daily special, Crawfish Monica. If you're visiting for the first time, crawfish or shrimp Monica is a local favorite that's getting harder to find on restaurant menus partly because every family has their own version of this special party dish. The Monica special was outstanding. I got a plate full of spicy crawfish cream sauce mixed with rotini pasta, a side of spiced corn and garlic bread, enough for lunch and a midnight snack. I also couldn't pass up the shrimp remoulade salad for my lunch the next day. The shrimp were seasoned, the romaine greens were fresh, and the remoulade dressing was a knockout. If you're not feeling like a hot plate special, World Deli has a big list of sandwiches and poboys that are super popular, as well. But whatever you decide, don't skip out on dessert. This is one of the few local sandwich spots with a homemade dessert menu as big as the sandwich one and these desserts cater to the local palate. Yesterday they had plain cheesecake, cheesecake with cherry sauce, Tuscan cream cake, rum cake, pineapple upside down cake, wedding cake, pralines, and tiramisu. Don't ever pass up the rum cake in Louisiana. If you're in town for the weekend and have access to a fridge, buy some spinach artichoke dip and crab stuffed mushrooms from the ready-prep fridge for a late night snack. This place is the real deal. Stop in and see where y'at.

Muffuletta and cheesesteak all day!!…read more That's our go to sammiches. Lots of folks, and I mean lots, really like the wow sauce. We think it just ok. The cheesesteak is super tasty, great bread steak sliced thin and cooked just right and American cheese to make melty. The hot muffuletta is one of the best in town. Plenty of meat and olive spread and the toasted muffuletta bread is so good. Service? What service you order at the cashier, not in the back, you pay your money, stay out of the way and wait for your number to get called. It's that simple. Don't wander around in the back looking at the deli counter confused, the place is too small and they don't take your order there. Don't try it, don't think about it, don't even look back there. The cashier is up front thats where you wanna be. When they call your number take your bag and leave. Walk away from the front door then shove it in your face. It's so good. Even if for some reason you didn't like the food that's ok, you got a real NOLA experience so know matter what you're a winner. I went by myself this time so only a cheesesteak pic, but just imagine that pic in muffuletta form with different toppings and no melty cheese.
