This is such a great Indian restaurant that's not too far from my house. I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala from them a few weeks ago and was really happy with the dish. The price is amazing, the portion size is fantastic, and it was delicious! Recently, we tried the weekend buffet, which was amazing and totally worth it! It's $18 per person but the selection is really great, with both vegetarian and meat dishes offered, and two dessert selections. What I love is that some of their dishes have a kick to them and feel more authentic than other Indian restaurants I've eaten at with respect to the spiciness. While I'm not a fish lover, I loved their fish pakora! It is so flavorful and super easy to overeat. While I loved all of their buffet dishes, the fish pakora and chana masala were my absolute favorites with the butter chicken and paneer tikka masala tying for 2nd. The restaurant is very large and clean, and the servers are very kind and attentive. They were constantly refilling our water and checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. Overall, this is a great spot for Indian food and a great Indian buffet spot. I highly recommend checking it out if you're in the neighborhood. read more

I very much enjoyed the vegetarian food at Haveli. It was the weekend and many people must've been coming from the temple, because they were all dressed in traditional wear. What can I say except, yuck! This is one of the worst indian restaurants we have tried. We ordered the following: Vegetable samosas were obviously old and stale and then fried in oil not properly heated so they were soaked in oil while remaining stale dry inside (see photo). Paneer tikka masala had no herbs in it and was LOADED with green bell peppers. Cheap and disgustingly prepared. If I had to guess they are using ketchup as their sauce - that's what it tastes like. The mattar paneer only had a little cilantro on top, otherwise there was no flavor. Even worse some of the peas were crunchy! What's up with that? Vegetable korma also contains a touch of cilantro on top but nothing else, no salt, no flavor AND instead of vegetables they cheaply filled it up with potatoes. Garlic naan had almost no garlic flavor! Who taught these people how to cook? Worse than fast food... Its another low grade, low quality, poorly run indian kitchen. What a shame. Shame on you people for abusing such a wonderful history of culinary excellence with this slop. Do yourself and your family a favor and AVOID this shi?hole. read more

I ordered the butter chicken the sauce was a dark red but what was worse than that was the inch of oil floating on top. I always order this from various places and I've never seen so much oil I had to drain it. The rice was ok. The garlic and onion naan were good. The place was empty but it was early afternoon. The one employee out front was on his cellphone so I had to interrupt him a few times to ask questions about the dishes. My bad! read more

Went on a Saturday. The staff was friendly. The food was amazing. They have all of the usuals I get. They have butter chicken, tandoori, curry lamb, garlic naan, pakoras etc etc. $20 buffet is something hard to find in Queens so I traveled here. Got out of exit 28 and it was pretty easy to find. Went with some friends on the weekend for the lunch buffet. They had a variety of choices-- more than what I'm used to for an Indian buffet which is amazing. Everyone loved the chicken tikka masala as the chicken was nice and tender with enough heat for flavor but not too spicy. Even the paneer cheese was tender in other dishes when I'm used to them being rock hard. Garlic Naan is a must. My friends also enjoyed the fried fish, kheer, goat/lamb? curry, and chickpeas. Honestly we've been looking for a new go to place for Indian food for awhile now and this place hits the spot. The buffet food was kept piping hot too with staff checking the food regularly. I came here last night with my family froends because they had to attend a 50th Anniversary Party. I have been here before when it was Sohna Punjab so I am familiar with the inside of it. If you are looking to hold a gathering for an event, consider this place as staff was very pleasant and food was very good. It was a buffet style setup with the apps and main course. Some of the stuff I had was Fish Tikka, Chili Gobi, Malai Chicken, Goat Curry, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Naan. Buffet was excellent, lamb curry was little salty, kheer could use more nuts and cardamom, but overall lunch buffet was good compared to other Indian buffets in area, decent variety. Waiter services could be better- such as pouring the water into glasses. And usually they ask if you want lassi or naan. We had to ask for naan. They also need to get desert bowls. I was worried place wouldn't be wheelchair friendly, but it was easy to get inside and sit by table and eat, definitely will come back and eat here. Great tasting food and nice portions! I was pleasantly surprised the first time I ordered here and had the food I would've gave it five stars, but the naan was a little bit on the hard side and the price was a bit high. The butter-chicken was savory and my kids enjoyed it. I'll definitely order here again. Too soon to tell if this place will be one of my favorites for Indian cuisine. read more

This is a very tough restaurant to review. What we ate was very good but overall it was a horrible experience. We had a brand new waitress and there was horrible miscommunication. She asked us if we wanted the appetizers first and we agreed as every restaurant I have ever gone to in my 50 years of eating out does just that. She brought out the samosas and then 10 minutes later brought out the other couple's (that we were dining with) tandori dishes as this was their main course. Me and my wife waited and waited for ours and then after 30 minutes we asked for the check for what we were served and wanted to leave, never getting our main course. That caused a big hullaballoo. The cook came out the manager came out. We had lost our appetite. Everybody tries to explain that our meal was being prepared fresh but the night was ruined already. I had placed an Uber order yesterday and received a call from the restaurant representative regarding a substitution for my fried chicken wings. I was kind of disappointed when he told me they ran out of chicken wings but then he said he would substitute something called lollipop chicken which I had never heard of and that he would throw in a couple of extra pieces, I thought I'd give it a try. This was my first time trying this restaurant at all. I received my order ahead of time but not only was I pleased with the service thus far, the food was outrageously delicious. The Chicken lollipops were so amazing with the spices that were used it made me want to suck the bones, lol! The Lamb Korma was so fabulously creamy you can tell it was made with the utmost touch of love and can almost hear them humming one of grandma's favorite songs during preparation. Well now that you can clearly see I will definitely be ordering from them again I do hope you will give them a try and that you will enjoy it even more than I did. Kudos to the Chef!! read more

I have never eaten inside Haveli, because I usually order take out but the ambiance is that of a fancy restaurant. It's very nice inside. I have ordered takeout here a few times and I always get the chicken briyani and the chicken tikka masala with 2 naans. The food is very flavorful and the portions are generous. As for take out, make sure you check your bag before leaving for the condiments. I ordered chicken briyani which comes with raita. The raita was not in the bag. Another issue is they charge you for condiments. I like some mint chutney with my briyani. Most places give it to you. This place charges $3.00. The meal prices are on par with the other Indian restaurants in the area but the up charges for condiments are not good and bring the prices above average. I plan on trying the buffet and some of the other dishes they make and will review again. I give this place 4 stars for the food. read more

This is a new place. The 2 people who were there were friendly and helpful ( I ordered takeout online and it didn't come through immediately so my order wasn't ready. They quickly started my order when I got there and were apologizing for something that wasn't their fault). I ordered garlic naan, paneer kulcha and navratan korma. The breads were lovely. The navratan korma had wonderful flavor. I asked for mild and it was perfect. I've had problems with spice level in several area restaurants and I was thrilled to find somewhere that does it as asked. The reason I gave 4 stars was there was a ton of sauce and relatively few vegetables. I literally came home and raided my fridge to add more to make an actual meal. For the price, I shouldn't need to do that. Will I try this place again? Yes. They're only about a week old and definitely worth another try. The flavors are there.
