In my opinion, the food had the perfect amount of heat and flavor. I especially enjoyed the Samosa Chaat while my husband could not stop eating the Baigan Bhartha. This place is my second favorite Indian restaurant! I only tried about a handful of Indian spots but I have really grown to appreciate the cuisine. Butter chicken happens to be one of my favorite dishes but I often dislike how sweet it can be made. The Butter Chicken at this spot happens to be my favorite rendition of the dish. It is served slightly spicy and is of course very flavorful like most Indian cuisine. I'd really like to know how this restaurant received such a high rating. We had a 2 year old with us so we specifically said the food needed to be mild or she wouldn't eat. We started with chicken 65. I like spice so she said it could be made mild with a side spicy sauce to bump it up for me. It came so spicy that even I didn't want to eat it. It really had no flavor - just hot. The butter chicken that I order all over and love was awful. First it was made with breast meat and I think the flavor is much better with thigh meat. But the sauce tasted like a can of tomato soup. Our third dish was a grill pan of tandoori vegetables. Vegetables namaste. It was alright but I specifically said that I hate green peppers. I placed an order at 7Pm on May 14 and was told to pick up in an hour. Before I was about to travel to pickup, I called to make sure if my order is ready but nobody picked up the call. Upon reaching there, I was told to wait another 15-20 minutes which I did. After coming back, I was informed they never started to prepare my order as they were very "busy". I don't understand how come an order that was placed 2 hours ago is not a priority. I was able to get my refund right away but I felt it was their duty to atleast inform by calling if there was any such situation. On the additional note, I also noticed that the staff gets annoyed if the phone rings or a new customer comes in to dine in. The phone rang almost 4-6 times in front of me and they didn't care to pick up to even tell that they are busy and would appreicate customer's understanding. This place was amazing. It was a little more than I would expect to pay for Indian food but it was much better Indian food and a better dining experience. I also had a substantial amount to take with me. I will say that the yogurt sauce that I think of a synonymous with any Indian meal cost five dollars but the woman give it to me for free because she noticed that my food was a little too spicy for me. By the way they have a system for ordering your spice level, it seems a little goofy at first because some dishes starts at "three" but it makes perfect sense. Sat down for 10 minutes and the service was already incredible. First time trying out northern indian cuisine and I'm so glad I did. The waitress was eager to explain the differences between certain choices and I was given the choice of spicing it the way I'm able to handle. Had the Aloo Chaat, Chicken Dahi Wala and chicken Korma. All were served in generous sizes and equally delicious. The Aloo Chaat was quite interesting as I've never had anything quite like it before. It's a street snack served in the local northern Indian streets. Here, it was served with chickpeas, potato fritters and some kind of green spice and little thin chips piled on top. The dahi wala was very good as well, marinate with yogurt and other spices. Quite similar to the Korma just not as creamy and with a hint of more spice. The food is OK not good, especially for the money that you will be paying here versus other Indian restaurants in the area. I normally order Indian food from Rajdhani, which is on 206th Street on Hillside Avenue. But they were closed this past Saturday night due to a private function, I did place the order on EatStreet with them and it came up to $93 with tax. For comparison, my order at Rajdhani included 4 entrees, an order of tandoori chicken, 5 orders of naan, 3 orders of gulab jamun and 3 orders of rasmalai. So after I got an email and a text from eatstreet stating my order with them could not be placed. I had to look for another Indian restaurant, and I found this one, Namaste. Now I placed a very very similar order of 4 entrees, tandoori chicken, 5 orders of naan, 3 orders of gulab jamun and 3 orders of rasmalai at Namaste over the phone. The order at Rajdhani was $93 with tax, now the same order with Namaste was $177 with tax, that's $84 more. But I still placed the order, the guy over the phone told me it will be ready in 25 minutes. When I went to pick up the order in 25 minutes, it was not ready, it was ready in 45 minutes, I stood there in the restaurant waiting. So I was chatting with the guy who I placed the order with, I believe he is the manager or the owner. I explained to him, your restaurant is very expensive and I even showed him my similar order with Rajdhani on my phone that was $93 compared to their $177, he said, for me to trust him that their food will be better due to better and fresher ingredients. Well guess what, Namaste food is NOT better at almost double the cost! I will never go back to this restaurant again, I will stick to Rajdhani. Also with Namaste, you get less food, Rajdhani's food is not only much better but you get more food. The containers are smaller thus contains less food, also. Namaste charges $5.00 for an order of gulab jamun, and it only comes with 2 gulab jamun, Rajdhani charges $3.00 and they give 3 gulab jamuns, same with the rasmalai. read more

Didn't read the reviews before ordering, after a very long day I realized I didn't have dinner and it was 10pm. Looked at different places to order food from and finally decided I wanted Indian. Placed the order at 10:24, the food was at my door at 10:44 (I live pretty close to the restaurant). My expectations of what I was going to receive weren't very high as it was almost 10:30pm and they would be closing shortly. I ordered tikka masala with garlic naan. I love me some naan, so the first thing I did was rip a piece of the warm naan and dipped it into the hot container of masala. The flavor that erupted was pure magic. The masala was moderately spicy, the chicken was cooked to perfection. The only improvement I would like to see is maybe a bit more rice. The masala can easily make two meals, but the rice is like 1.25 meals. Maybe I eat a lot of rice? Nonetheless, will definitely be ordering from here again in the NEAR future. read more

Samosas, garlic Naan, goat curry and paneer Tikka masala, all made fresh and spiced to perfection. Complex flavors without being fussy. The goat was tender but not mush, great texture. Even the accompanying coriander and tamarind chutney are freshly made and well balanced. The garlic Naan boasted roasted garlic flavor throughout the bread, not just on top like most places make it. They're definitely worth it! Little spicy but so good! The saag paneer has nice big pieces of cheese. They were tasty and had a good mouth feel, creamy not grainy. Again a little spicy. I would have asked for it to be a little less spicy if I ordered it again. The chicken korma was delicious. Great pieces of chicken! Sweet and a little spicy in the best combination. It was so good! Went to this restaurant after eyeing for sometime now. I heard some good reviews so I decided to check it out! To start off, we ordered samosa chaat as an appetizer, which had a perfect balance of everything. The samosas on the bottom were steaming hot, so be careful digging in! The chick peas were balanced with onions and seasonings perfectly. They forgot to give us the chutneys that come along with the chaat normally, but our waiter brought it right away! Overall we were really satisfied with the appetizer. For the main dish, we ordered chicken tikka masala and two orders of garlic naan which came with one side of rice. We didn't realize how much food it would be, so we over-ordered for sure. My boyfriend asked for the chicken tikka to be extra spicy, while I said medium... and then the waiter said I'll do spicy. When we took the first bite of the chicken tikka, it was so mild, barely had a spice! I didn't mind the taste, but my extra spicy boyfriend asked for chilis so he got some green chili peppers, which are actually really spicy. I don't recommend that if you can't handle it or don't know what you're getting yourself into! The garlic naan was good, but a little more thinner than I'm used to. Yeah well my girlfriend and I have found out new favorite Indian restaurant. We came here last week for an Elite event and loved their food, so we decided to trek out for dinner. I ordered the chicken vindaloo with a side of naan while she (vegetarian with celiacs) opted for the Chana Masala. Our server, whose name I forgot to get, was absolutely incredible the entire time. We actually felt as if we were being waited on hand and foot! He asked me a couple of times if I'd be okay with the vindaloo as it's really spicy, and I assured him that it'd be fine. Wow the portions are great! Our dishes neared the point of overflowing, and we received a large dish of rice to share. A very good thing to note--as rice is included, you can ask for more for no charge! What?!?! Some Korean restaurants are even charging for rice now! As I expected, the vindaloo was quite tame, but I wasn't upset at all. The quality of their ingredients and the attention they pay to their cooking techniques is very evident. The chicken was just tender as can be and full of flavor. When he came back to ask me about it, I told him it didn't taste spicy at all, and his eyes went wide. Guess he didn't know how Koreans roll! I guess I can see it being spicy for some people but if you're into spice like I am, you have nothing to fear. The naan was thinner than I'm accustomed to, but it was fluffy in the center and crispy on the edges, which was a plus. In addition, we were given a small salad of fresh lettuce, red onion and cucumber. Ashley loves their Chana Masala as it's flavorful and seasoned quite well. We've had an issue with neighborhood joints paying little to no attention to their chickpea dishes, so this was a very welcome change. If they take this much care with their chicken dishes, I'm excited to try their more complex dishes. So I read the reviews and decided to order food from this establishment for my wife and myself. Where do I start? I used the grub hub to make the order and left a note to add chicken to a dish. I received a call from the restaurant and they told me I wouldn't be able to add chicken to a vegetarian dish, which I was fine with and thought it was great they called to explain my order. So I waited about an hour and called the restaurant to see if the delivery left and they said they did, cool... Phone call from the delivery guy, he's lost and can't find my house. Finally gets here and hands my food and leaves. I open the bag and most if not all the sauce from the salmon curry and chicken tiki masala is all over the bag and the dishes are laid sideways when I received the order. I call up the restaurant and explained what happened but they told me he was the only delivery guy and that maybe they can do something on the next order...How about this order? I came here during lunch and ate from their buffet. They didn't have a wide variety of items like other Indian restaurant buffets, but they had Butter Chicken, so I was happy. The chicken was pretty good. The waiter even came by and asked if I wanted freshly made naan. How could I say no to that? It tasted great when it arrived. I've been to other restaurants where the naan was sitting at the buffet and tasted stale. The service was very good (which again, is not too common at Indian restaurants), and the place looked clean. The soup of the butter chicken is so delicious pairs really well with the naan and roti but the chicken in the butter chicken a little dry. However the chicken in the chicken biriyani is delicious! This place opened not too long ago near my house, and my boyfriend and I are celebrating it. There aren't that many good restaurants in the area and this one is really tasty. The garlic naan and butter chicken are my favorite, but I am biased towards butter chicken no matter what. I have gone there for their mid day buffet which is a great deal. $6.99 / per person 11am-4pm. Also for dinner; The prices for the entrees are really good, and my favorite thing of all is that the restaurant is opened 24/7. The service is really good, the servers and counter staff are very friendly. Inside, the place is a bit plain looking but it's also very clean which I prefer to ambience. Outside, it has a very pretty yellow sign which is what attracted me to go see what it was. I definitely recommend this restaurant, and I will continue to go here. read more
