A few days later, I received an email that the appointment had been cancelled by the salon. On June 13, I received a text asking me to confirm. Confused, I called reception. I was told that the machine accidentally made an appointment for me on June 6, and that the staff had cancelled that one (because it was an error), and that's why I got a cancellation email. She said the machine makes mistakes often, and that I definitely wouldn't be charged for an appointment I was told was cancelled. An hour later, I received an angry voicemail from the manager, Sharon, saying that even though they had "accidentally made an appointment for me on June 6th" (her words verbatim) and then cancelled it, sending me with a cancellation email, I would be charged due to their cancellation policy. I called back and explained the situation to the receptionist, who agreed that it was ridiculous to charge me for a machine mistake. Of course I was aware of the cancellation policy, being a loyal customer. She said Sharon would call me back. She did not. I have disputed the charge. Petty and disappointing. Will definitely not be returning or recommending to others.

I explained what I wanted again and they started my hair. they foiled my entire head which was already alarming since I had only asked to brighten it up a bit and touch up my root. But instead of lightening up she made me brown with blonde highlights and a money piece. I was already blonde and I did not ask for brown, I am distraught and it has ruined the way i view hair salons. I also asked for a small trim, Devon took 3 inches off my hair including layers I did not ask for. We paid $400 for this service just for It to turn out being the exact opposite of what I asked for. If you value being heard and listened to when it comes to what is going on when it comes to your hair, I would not go here, or at least let Devon and Lara touch your hair.

I went to Alison after a decade of box-dyes because I wanted ombre/balayage highlights. I showed her a few pics of ridiculously platinum blond highlights and she straight up told me: 1) I have 5 different colors of box-dye that she needs to remove first 2) She will not bleach my black/brown thick pin-straight Asian hair to be THAT blond in 1 sitting because my hair will fall off That honesty is EVERYTHING! Many of my gfs went to other salons with the same (outrageous) request, the hairstylists complied, and those women now have dry brittle hay straws on their heads. But not me - after 6 years and gallons of bleach - my hair is still thick, shiny and healthy, all thanks to Alison truly TAKING CARE of my hair. Alison listens and remembers my preferences; I hardly ever give her direction other than "more/less blond", "cooler/warmer" and "longer/shorter". She knows how to cut Asian hair!!!! . She also cuts my man's long curly hair and taught him the benefits of "layers". Most importantly, she taught me that toner is my friend, otherwise I'll look like a traffic cone. Again with that honesty. I was super excited to be Alison's first client on opening day. I took the Seastreak Ferry to Highlands, NJ (40 mins) and then a Lyft to Red Bank (20 mins). WOW, Alison's new Fox & Jane in Red Bank is GORGEOUS. Unlike the typical loud cramped salons of NYC, this salon is so spacious, and the décor is chic and relaxing. It's like doing your hair in West Elm. This time around, Alison did heavy babylights (which helps camouflage my grays as my roots grow out) and textured long layers to add volume.
