Horrible care, neglectful, dirty place! Please do not put your loved one here. Anywhere is better than this place.

Very sad to see Residents in poor conditions... sores on their buttocks from not being cared for.... Nursing care for my neighbor was questionable.... The owners should go into these places and see for themselves have these nurses are just sitting around very sad. Most of them are just there for the paycheck. read more

My mother was brought here for short term rehab. Let me say first the rehab staff are top notch. They deserve 5 stars. The nursing staff not at all. They are habitually late on medications. They don't respond to calls for bathroom relief in a timely manner. I found her wheelchair pinching the air hose to her oxygen and when I mentioned it to them the response from the Medical Director's assistant was 'That's a good sign!' What, that she didn't die from lack of oxygen?! Half the time she isn't brought all the items on the menu they provide. I have to go find someone and ask for it. Just a neglectful staff. I wish I could give minus zero stars for this 'Skilled Nursing Facility'. read more

I am currently here I just got out of back sugery and since I got out of U conn and came here I went downhill, they do not keep up with your pain medication that stopped me recovering because I need to move. I cried the 1st night here because of the pain and my room mate went to go find a nurse to let her know and that nurse just jumped down her throat and told her she is only one person. Then what's really great these nurses talk in the halls knowing that we can hear them talking about how that there not getting paid enough, that this is not worth it mostly these people are old, I got sent to this floor because my insurance won't cover rehab and I Need Rehab! Then the person who works in kitchen getting plates told the nurse that all the kitchen staff called out cause of the storm and she asked him who is going to feed us... His response I don't care I leave at 3pm. I am only visiting here for a few weeks but these poor people who stay here my heart breaks for them. Oh and in the Morning when you call at 4am to use the bathroom they don't take you!! They make you use the bed pan that's the number one reason why I was pushing myself to get up and walk and take care of myself. I found a really great Nurse I hope I got her name right Alveria, she will look out for you when she is on shift, she made sure I had everything clean and even bathed me. My main objective in this review is to warn anyone thinking of having a parent or loved one reside here for anything other than short-term care or rehabilitation- DO NOT DO IT, BEWARE!!! I actually can't imagine how horrific it must be for a resident residing here who doesn't have any family or friends to visit, check-in on, or keep tabs on them. As someone who has a parent here, I consistently check-in often by phone and in person whenever possible to keep the staff in line. My parent (when permitted) will call me and tell me of the various levels of neglect, mental and emotional abuse and "punishment" system they employ for any patients who don't stay silent and cause no "issues" Of course, the story immediately changes when you show up in person and excuses for this behavior seem to be many and extremely suspicious. I myself am keeping my parent's gender and physical limitations/health issues purposely vague, as I don't want this to be seen by an administration member and take it out on my parent. Unfortunately, I am recovering from a major life-threatening illness myself, or my parent would not be in this Hell-Hole at all, and as soon as possible, I will be moving them out of there. To be fair, I am not suggesting there aren't any good staff members on site. I am sure there are, and some of the staff/nurses seem pleasant and I am sure are dedicated caring individuals. There are however some very bad seeds, and it seems like a problem with staffing numbers. I am sure more staff members are needed, many there are probably overworked and under paid. The other egregious activity is threatening not only the resident with financial ruin, but the family members as well. Intimidation and lies were used on my parent to the point of them being terrified the facility was going to take anything and everything from them and their family members. My parent was coerced into signing documents they did not wish to (or even know what they were), and on one occasion I was called by the local hospital for some information on my parent- I was shocked to find my parent had been brought to the hospital and I was not contacted. The reason was severe neglect. Veiled threats, law firm intimidation, and scare tactics are all in their bag of tricks. You may also do a quick search online which is public record, and the facility has had many violations and fines when being scrutinized by The Department of Public health. If you find ANYONE you care about stuck here, contact an attorney immediately as they will have no issues with using their own law firm to do everything they can to intimidate, frighten and basically rob anyone of any assets they may be able to trick them into giving away. I do not mean justly acquired payment for services rendered, Of course, uninsured residents with financial means and no health coverage should (if able) compensate the facility, but that is not what I am speaking about here. I am speaking of hardship cases, and people with no assets in the mind-bendingly long procedure of qualification for Medicaid. This is so rampant I would not be surprised if there were some manner of rewards system for additional money and/or assets taken under false pretenses by the staff member(s). BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE!!! This is exactly the type of place you have seen on news exposes, they have found a balance to just stay within legal loopholes, and know the ropes very well of how to avoid prosecution, at least for the time being. It saddens me that in the most prosperous and richest Countries in the world, we still have to see this type of treatment for our seniors, Our Fathers, Our Mothers, retirees who worked their whole life, dedicated retired armed service members and all our ill and/or elderly loved ones.
