Once they had that info, the guys went right to work. It was a quick in and out. They also have a good military discount for active duty and vets. I would have spent the same amount for a full synthetic change as anywhere else before the discount. I figured they deserved a positive review because I'm sure plenty have left satisfied without leaving one. Thanks guys! Wednesdays are Ladies' Days, so the standard oil changes are $17.99 for up to 5 quarts. And they use Castrol Oil. The two gentlemen that helped me, Jerry(?) and Shawn, were very nice and friendly. (Jerry was funny.) I'm sure it's part of their job to upsell, and they did a good job with it, since I also got an Oil System Cleaner service and a Power Steering service since I was 3,000 miles overdue on the oil change and I had never had my power steering system serviced since I bought my car. (I had only planned on a straight up oil change.) Service was very quick--I was in and out in less than 30 mins (I usually will be waiting at the dealership for close to 2 hours.) My car drove very smoothly when I got it back, so I think their recommendation for the oil system cleaner did actually do something for the car. The damage for the 3 services was just under $100 (with the power steering service being the most expensive) but it was money well spent since my baby drives like it's brand new again. ;) 4 stars for their customer service, speed of service, and quality of work. Price for a standard oil change is pretty darn good too compared to a dealership. I will be returning for future oil changes and basic servicing.

I can't remember the last time that I've been to this franchise, as I usually go to Take 5, but I'll definitely never go back to this spot. The first alarm bell was that they made me get out of my car. I just want to get in and get out. There should be no need for me to get out of my car for a quick oil change. The second alarm bell was that the few men on staff were swearing up and down that I had been in to their shop recently (I had not) and that they had recently had a car "just like that." It wasn't just one or two comments, but went on for a few minutes and creeped me out. The third alarm bell was that after I filled out my information in the iPad provided and asked if my Veteran/Military discount was included, I was told that it should all transfer from my current profile. I didn't have a current profile. I haven't been to a Famous in many, many years. As I was waiting in their office waiting area, one of the guys came in to walk me out to my car and, basically, up charge me on stuff. I commute to St Augustine every day for work, so I'm staying on top of my oil changes and fluids. However, I'm fairly certain that my coolant needed to be topped off, so I let them do it. That said, I was told that my Veterans discount would "transfer over" and it wasn't included and that they were going to put the current oil that I was using in my car, which was non-synthetic, and they put in synthetic thinking that I wouldn't notice. When my bill popped up to be nearly $200, I looked at it and said that I don't put synthetic oil in this car and that kind of oil should not have been used. The guy at the desk took it down to a regularly priced oil change, but not without making comments in a smarmy tone like "the customer is always right" and generally making me feel like he got caught trying to upcharge me. I felt very uncomfortable from start to finish here. Everyone, ladies especially, avoid this place at all costs.

When I went to pick up the car from Walmart, I also found that they HAD changed one of the other tires that ALSO had a missing wheel stud. They had no explanation as to why they could change the one but not the other. They waisted my entire day. The other shop I went to had no problem changing the tire with a missing wheel stud. Walmart would not even give me a refund for the installation of the one tire. I'm going to have to dispute it with my bank. I WILL NEVER do business with Walmart Automotive again.

I was referred to Gary by another local business who could not diagnose an issue I was having with…read moremy 2004 F-150. I left the competitor and dropped it off with Gary. In less than a week - I had a diagnosis as well as a few different options ahead of me. Gary explained in great detail the pro's and con's of the options provided and even made a recommendation. I opted to replace with a re-manufactured engine (that came with a 3 yr/100,000 mile warranty). Carmen - who was an angel to work with throughout the entire process - quoted me a time frame of less than a week from the day they take delivery of the engine. Less than week later (including a holiday) - I get a call to come pick my truck up it was fixed. I get there - my truck runs better than it did the day I picked it up from the dealership. Gary must have spent a good 45 minutes talking me through all of the things he noticed, his extensive testing, explanation of next steps to break the engine in, the free oil change they threw in, etc. I go back into the office and Carmen had everything lined up and stepped me through all of the paperwork that came with my new engine as well as guided me through the steps to get the warranty registered to me. She even told me to call them if I notice anything crazy with my truck and they would have me towed in at their expense - just to be safe!!! It is a pity that I am leaving the area - just when I found "The last mechanic I will ever need...". I highly recommend Gary's Car Craft - you will not be disappointed!

The last car a BMW came in for oil drain pan seal replacement that cost $5000 and when he received the car back the brake lights were not working. Now how does that happen! Gary said he did not do that, so my friend left it with him again and one month later he says it is fixed but it was not two months after that he says it is fixed and wanted to charge him another $850!!! After calling bullshit on that he lowered the bill to $450. This is a pattern with this business they start with the original problem and then other things pop up making that bill larger and larger.
