I can't remember the last time that I've been to this franchise, as I usually go to Take 5, but I'll definitely never go back to this spot. The first alarm bell was that they made me get out of my car. I just want to get in and get out. There should be no need for me to get out of my car for a quick oil change. The second alarm bell was that the few men on staff were swearing up and down that I had been in to their shop recently (I had not) and that they had recently had a car "just like that." It wasn't just one or two comments, but went on for a few minutes and creeped me out. The third alarm bell was that after I filled out my information in the iPad provided and asked if my Veteran/Military discount was included, I was told that it should all transfer from my current profile. I didn't have a current profile. I haven't been to a Famous in many, many years. As I was waiting in their office waiting area, one of the guys came in to walk me out to my car and, basically, up charge me on stuff. I commute to St Augustine every day for work, so I'm staying on top of my oil changes and fluids. However, I'm fairly certain that my coolant needed to be topped off, so I let them do it. That said, I was told that my Veterans discount would "transfer over" and it wasn't included and that they were going to put the current oil that I was using in my car, which was non-synthetic, and they put in synthetic thinking that I wouldn't notice. When my bill popped up to be nearly $200, I looked at it and said that I don't put synthetic oil in this car and that kind of oil should not have been used. The guy at the desk took it down to a regularly priced oil change, but not without making comments in a smarmy tone like "the customer is always right" and generally making me feel like he got caught trying to upcharge me. I felt very uncomfortable from start to finish here. Everyone, ladies especially, avoid this place at all costs.

When I went to pick up the car from Walmart, I also found that they HAD changed one of the other tires that ALSO had a missing wheel stud. They had no explanation as to why they could change the one but not the other. They waisted my entire day. The other shop I went to had no problem changing the tire with a missing wheel stud. Walmart would not even give me a refund for the installation of the one tire. I'm going to have to dispute it with my bank. I WILL NEVER do business with Walmart Automotive again.

In less than a week - I had a diagnosis as well as a few different options ahead of me. Gary explained in great detail the pro's and con's of the options provided and even made a recommendation. I opted to replace with a re-manufactured engine (that came with a 3 yr/100,000 mile warranty). Carmen - who was an angel to work with throughout the entire process - quoted me a time frame of less than a week from the day they take delivery of the engine. Less than week later (including a holiday) - I get a call to come pick my truck up it was fixed. I get there - my truck runs better than it did the day I picked it up from the dealership. Gary must have spent a good 45 minutes talking me through all of the things he noticed, his extensive testing, explanation of next steps to break the engine in, the free oil change they threw in, etc. I go back into the office and Carmen had everything lined up and stepped me through all of the paperwork that came with my new engine as well as guided me through the steps to get the warranty registered to me. She even told me to call them if I notice anything crazy with my truck and they would have me towed in at their expense - just to be safe!!! I also had an overall checkup with my vehicle and love that my records can be pulled up so easily.
