Poor service. Do NOT use this location to rent a U-Haul, especially if you have to use the self service app. Such a PAIN!!! I will never rent from them again. They also threatened to tow my car (total A-holes!) Their parking area in the back was inaccessible since they were welding the entrance area so I had to park in the front (didn't feel safe to leave my car on the street to get sideswiped). i went in as suggested by my insurance company. upon me going into the business I was greeted by a rude guy. I was showing him my insurance card and he claimed that I was up in his face and got mad and ripped up the paper he was filling out. don't recommend going here. terrible customer service. read more

We took our car into Hawaii Collision Repair in June. They were happy to get us on their schedule for September. They asked for full payment up front and told us that they would contact our claim rep and get the bid from the insurance company. When we called back in September, not only did they not remember us to take our car in to repair, they did not contact the rep to get parts ordered. After leaving at least 5 messages and more than 25 unanswered phone calls, we went into the office and asked for our money back. They just handed us the original check we gave them and said nothing. Our car has not been in service now for 8 months and they left us high and dry! While this seems to be typical service for many companies on the big island, there was no apology or attempt to make anything right for us. If you need your car repaired, go anywhere else. Poor communication and misleading estimate process. I made it clear we just wanted an estimate to decide if we were going to file a claim. They suggested we schedule the work anyway since they're booked out several weeks. What they didn't say was that by doing so, we were authorizing them to charge our insurance. Sketchy! That's not the way to get our business. I only found out when we got an email from Geico saying payment had been sent. We had to cancel the payment. On top of this, I had to call them 4 times to get them on the phone. We'll go elsewhere to a shop we can trust. read more

They will only give you an estimate if you sign a guarantee that they will do the work. They will only take insurance work. No free estimates here. What was upsetting was the estimator did not explain this to me. All he asked was if I was going to repair the car. I answered that I would need to discuss that with my husband. I said that when we get the estimate, we'll discuss what we will do. His answer was, "it'll take awhile." Well, 1 month later and I heard nothing. Called my insurance company and after 3 phone calls, found out the auto body repairs policy from my insurance company. The estimator could have just said that in the beginning, when I brought the car. The whole situation just seemed dodgy. Be aware of signing anything your not sure of. read more

If I could give them zero stars I would. I contacted them to do an estimate months ago and the estimate was sent to my insurance company and then my insurance company and Hawaii collision had no follow through so I was waiting to get an appointment--- I finally was told I had to make the appointment and not my insurance company so I went in to make the appointment and this is 90 days after my accident. I made the appointment which is for 60 days from now and they Just now contacted me and told me they're not able to do the repair even though they gave the estimate to my insurance company and said they've decided I have too much rust even though we live in Hawaii where rust happens no matter what so --- I would not recommend them at all. Extremely unhelpful and not knowledgeable about their own business, and quite rude.. I honestly believe they would not even be in business if they were not 1 of 2 rebuilt salvage dealers in Hilo but they're not even doing that. According to the rude woman at the front desk, they are only taking insurance claims and from the other reviews, they aren't even doing that very well at all. I was so happy with the service I received from HCC. They worked seamlessly with my insurance, and everyone was so polite and professional. They were able to find parts for my custom Tacoma and everything looks brand new. Best Job Ever ! I don't know anything about computers, so I can't comment on that. These guys did a fantastic job on my car. It was an insurance deal, as someone had backed into my car. Their insurance paid without a squawk, so Hawaii Collision took over and replaced the back bumper. They matched the color perfectly, which wasn't easy as my car is a weird yellow/gold color. I honestly would give them zero stars if I was able to. VERY poor communication! I took my car in today (March 21st) for my scheduled appointment that was booked on February 10th to only get declined and was told that my appointment was cancelled due to my insurance charging them too high. They said they emailed me to let me know on March 4th. When I checked there was an email sent from them on March 4th letting me know that was found in my spam mail so no wonder I didn't see it and part of me wonders why they didn't contact me via phone!?! On another note my insurance said they were trying to reach out to them for the last two weeks regarding a change request and there was NO response from HCC. In the meantime my insurance sent me a check for the 1st part of the estimate in time for my appointment which shows me they weren't clear or notified either of the cancellation. What made it worse is the people at the counter wouldn't even give the time of day to explain or answer any of my questions and just kept telling me "sorry, your insurance rates were too high", sorry there's nothing we can do" which left me speechless. I understand that maybe there were some kind of miscommunication in part of this but the way they handle it overall definitely made me feel like I would NEVER go back to them or NEVER refer anyone to them! read more

After my first auto accident I was lost, with a smashed car and had no idea what to do. My car was towed to Hawaii Collision and Melissa, Lenn, Lynell and the crew took it from there. We recently needed to have our Accord repaired after a rear-end collision. Hawaii Collision Center did a great job. The back end of the car looks perfect now and it drives beautifully, just like it did before the accident. They are an extremely busy shop, so expect that you might have to schedule your repairs for a future date; but their quality and professionalism definitely is worth the wait. They gave us a prompt and thorough quote on the repair, and once our car was in the shop, they periodically called and/or texted us with status updates, which was great. They were also very good at giving us a realistic estimate of what would be involved, and how long the repair might take. In addition, they thoroughly detailed the car before we picked it up, which was a nice surprise and much appreciated. I hope we don't need collision repair services again anytime soon, but if/when we ever do, we would definitely use their shop again. read more

We were refused an estimate because we were paying cash for our repairs. They only accept insurance.

Very good job on auto repair. Had to repaint entire side of car. When I got the car back, it looked brand new. They had detailed the outside and inside of the car. The only problem, they were so busy it took 3 weeks to get in for the repair. Would recommend this shop. read more
