Justin was thorough, took his time examining my skin, and clearly explained both the diagnosis and treatment options. Before my appointment I called to make sure they accepted my insurance and asked about a copay, they told me that my insurance would be accepted and there would be no copay. I went in for my apt and it was rushed and when I came out they told me that there was a copay of $80 and the visit wasn't covered by insurance and I had to pay another $200. Such a scam. read more

I had a very pleasant experience coming here for my son's acne problems. I called to make an appt as a new patient and they were able to see us in 2 days! The receptionists, nurses and the doctor were welcoming. Doctor was personable and thorough in explaining what to do to help our concerns. Our appt was at 1pm and just note they're closed for lunch before that so you'll have to wait in the hallway. Parking was also in the Pan Am building so it was easy to get to. I will be coming back here since it was so much easier to make an appt and they were compassionate and thorough. read more

I've had dyshidrotic eczema for the last 10 years and with the birth of my first baby was washing my hands a lot. I put in inquiries to different derms for a major flareup, and they had 1-2 month waiting times! Hawaii Premier Derm though called me back before 8am to schedule 2 days later. The scheduler made it super easy for my schedule as a mom and their web portal was super easy too. Parking was easy as well. Mikaela the medical assistant was friendly and Dr. Tagai really took the time to listen and assess my flareup. He had me do wet wraps and provided multiple prescriptions in case needed since I had this inflammation for over 6 weeks. After doing this for 3 days, my fingers were way better. I was even more impressed when Mikaela called me multiple times to follow up on my treatment to see if there was improvement. This office really takes care of its patients. read more

I was able to get an appointment within a few days of calling as a new patient. The receptionist on the phone was so friendly and kind and exhibited great customer service. When I arrived for my appointment the worker at the front desk knew exactly what she was doing and answered any questions I had. After filling out forms, I was taken in quickly and after a brief chat, Dr. Tagai came to see me and listened to my concerns. He was able to check out my areas of concern and answered questions I had. He was also able to provide next steps and solutions for my problems. Office waiting room is big and clean. I was recommended by my PCP to see Dr. Tagai for my alopecia that I was diagnosed with for about a year and a half. At my first appointment, Dr. Tagai was very interpersonal and clearly explained my options for treatment and how the treatment procedures would work. While I can't provide many details about my treatment, it did include a cortisone shot. Within 3 weeks of the first shot, my hair started to grow! The first two "before" photos were taken in February and April. The last three "after" photos were taken just today in June after my 3rd shot about 3 days ago. LOVE this office!! I had a cyst that pretty much blew up over night triple the size of what it was originally was and I was in pain! I've never been to a dermatologist, so I was calling all over the island. After having multiple horrible experiences with other offices, this one was a breath of fresh air!! The front desk was sweet and understanding of my pain and got me in the same week. When I got there, everything was the same as on the phone, welcoming, sweet and understanding!! Let me tell you why you won't want to see any other dermatologist after you see Dr. Musaev: He listens to you, you will never feel rushed. He honestly cares about his patients and your concerns are important to him. His care for his patients goes above and beyond the rest. Dr. Musaev diagnosed my melanoma cancer in Nov '21. I couldn't have asked for a better doctor to see me through that difficult time. Example of going above and beyond: I lost a lot of my hair and he recommended a great hair supplement which worked wonderfully. He later CALLED me to warn that an ingredient in it may interfere with my thyroid lab levels and to tell my endocrinologist. The office staff is incredible, too. I've been with Shirley Ann and Grace for just as long and they are incredible. The whole staff is professional, kind, understanding and most of all excellent with communication. They are diligent in returning calls and work hard with you and your insurance to get what you need. Dr. Musaev is the best, he's like ohana! read more

Office experience was terrible. Little consideration for the time of other people. My apt was supposed to be at 4:30. I arrived at 4:23. I waited as one receptionist was on her phone texting, and the other was with a client. Once the client left the same receptionist that had been talking to the client asked me to check in. All the while the other receptionist is still texting away on her cell phone. Once I checked in I filled out the online ppw. The receptionist calls me to the front and asks me who my primary care is I said I don't know someone at Kaiser ( it was newer and I have not seen them yet). Then the receptionist proceeds to drill me about my Kaiser insurance that I don't want to use because they don't even accept it there. I wanted to use my HMSA as they are in network with my HMSA. Then she takes my HMSA card again, walks to the back and returns about 5 minutes later telling me that that they can't see me unless I pay out-of-pocket. She tells me Out-of-pocket price is $250. I said no way and asked why they just couldn't use my HSMA insurance? She tried to tell me HMSA would not pay unless they were primary so I asked her to call the insurance to see and she literally just sat there and stared at me. Finally, I said it's fine I'll go somewhere else. Pretty sure she didn't want to call because it was nearing 5 o'clock. I get to my car and a SIMPLE Google search revealed that my HMSA would be the primary insurance. I drove from Kaneohe after work and all for nothing. I really feel like they didn't want to check the insurance because of the time of my apt and they did not want to stay later even though they scheduled me at 4:30. read more

The friendly receptionist on the phone was professional and provided excellent customer service. I also appreciated that she booked my appointment as soon as I requested it. When I arrived for my appointment, the front desk clerk assisted me as a first-time patient and helped me complete the questionnaire on an iPad, instead of having to fill out many paper forms about my medical history, etc. The office waiting room is spacious, clean, and pleasant. I enjoyed my stay for less than 5minutes before being asked to move to the examination room, which was also clean and well-kept. Dr. Tagai was only interested in doing the bare minimum on my visit even suggesting I see a plastic surgeon for a non-cosmetic sebaceous cyst and a separate referral to another doctor for a milia/tag on my eyelid. Sadly, it seems that this clinic is focused on maximizing profits for minimal care (possibly because I also didn't have insurance and I was paying out of pocket). Did I mention that I was charged even before I saw the doctor? I do appreciate the refund but not the time completely wasted. read more
