I have been a patient of Dr. Fancher's for as long as I can remember. She has treated me for all types of minor skin issues and even cleaned out my knee in an emergency when I took a bad fall in my gravel driveway! I know that she is so good there is a wait to see her now, for new patients, etc. But I will still say - if you can wait, it's worth it to go to the very best in Honolulu. I've been to other dermatologists who tried to sell me everything from shampoo to skin creams. It's a bit tacky (in my humble opinion) for physicians to sell you brand-name stuff (i.e. Obaji) so they can get a cut and trust me, I've seen a few... I had specifically asked for Dr. Fancher as my PCP had to write a referral - I needed a dermatologist to check out my sun-damaged skin and had to make sure it wasn't melanoma. My mom has been a Dr. Fancher "fan" for many years so I decided to wait the 6 months it took to see this awesome physician. Dr. Fancher is located in the old Medical Arts Building on Young/S. King street across the Blaisdell. I found street parking so I didn't use the parking facilities but another reason I did not want to use the parking facilities was because it was small and crowded. The waiting room was pleasant and I avoided the seat with the dried liquid stain on it. I waited about thirty minutes before I was called into the inner chambers. Then I waited another ten minutes; nervous, since I parked on the street and I was supposed to move my car by a certain time or else it would be towed. Was it worth the wait? Yes! Dr. Fancher was pleasant, easily approachable and had a relaxed (but not lax) demeanor about her. She used plain English and she explained everything in way that anyone could understand her. At the conclusion of the session she even offered to check my back, which was not what I came in for. All in all a very good experience. I will definitely be back to visit Dr. Fancher. read more

She's the reason I wear SPF50--everyday, everywhere. After frolicking for years under the Hawaiian sun, I decided it was time to take care of my skin. I come to see Dr. Fancher semiannually for that interesting mole or pesky pimple. Dr. Fancher is sweet and helpful--I like going to see her even with perfect skin. She always gives me free samples and coupons. However, her staff members aren't the brightest crayons in the box--it peeves me to have to talk to them. "Your next appointment is October." "I'll be away at law school in October. Let's try mid-December." "Ok, what day in October works for you?" "You mean December." "Ok, December 1st." "I won't be home yet. MID-DECEMBER!!" Everyone over 20 should see a dermatologist. Dr. Fancher is in high demand, so call today for a 15-minute appointment 6 months from now. Dr Linda Fancher was very patient to listen to my skin issue and solve it one by one. She is super nice and wonderful doctor.

She is a GREAT doctor! Knowledgeable, sweet, nice, and is very genuine. Even though this was my first time meeting her, I felt comfortable right off the bat because she has this warmth about her. Most importantly, extremely competent! (Went to another doctor for a, but they couldn't give me a direct answer. Dr. Fancher on the other hand, was straight to the point and made a direct diagnosis!) She is extremely booked though! When I tried to book an appointment, the soonest one that was available was 6 months away!!! When they realized the urgency though, they told me to come in as a "stand by". I had to wait a total of 3 hours to see Dr. Francher. Two words . . . WORTH IT! Even though she is EXTREMELY BUSY (I know from waiting three hours in the waiting area, and see A LOT of patients coming in and out), when she's with you one on one, you never feel rushed. When she was with me, she focused on me and answering all the questions I had. Like I said in the beginning, she is a great doctor! Incredibly sweet doctor with fast and efficient service. I absolutely adore Dr. Fancher. Most doctor appointments, I dread, but this is the ONLY place that I know I'll be in and out in 30 minutes. AMAZING! Dr. Fachner always listens to my needs and gives me exactly the right prescription for me. I ALWAYS get compliments on how clear my skin is (little do they know my secret weapon is a little lady named Linda Fachner). I've been coming to her for the last 7 years or so, because she's that amazing. The receptionist said that I would have to make an appointment, which is a year from today. Being that Dr. Fancher took me in last time with no appointment, I asked if I could be on the waiting list for possible future canceled appointments. Instead, the receptionist asked me if I wanted to wait a bit to see if her schedule frees up, which I said "Yes." about 15 - 20 minutes later, the Medical assistant asks me to come in...and in about 10 - 15 minutes later, Dr. Fancher is examinning me. That's what I call "Customer Service!" Great staff. They are very professional. Thanks for another great experience Dr. Fancher! read more

A co-worker recommended Dr. Fancher and boy is she a popular dermatologist. It took 3 months to get in, but I was in no rush so it was fine. She was very thorough, and didn't rush the appointment at all. I told her all my concerns and she did a full body exam. The full body was quick since I pointed out my concerned spots and I'm still in my 30's and have no cancer concerns yet. I had a spot on my face biopsied and it was quick and painless and insurance covered most of the lab. Overall I'm happy thus far with Dr. Fancher but if you want to get in call far in advance, it will take several months to get in. My next check up had to be scheduled 2 months out... read more

She was great at first, very nice and helpful with what I needed to have removed. It was my first experience at a dermatologist. I was worried about the price, but she assured me that it would not be input as cosmetic, so the insurance should cover most of it. I went in for a 20 minute session and everything cleared up. It took about two weeks for the small moles she burned off to heal. The skin was smooth but then the third week they all came back. Then I got a bill for $150. The insurance didn't cover anything because it wasn't surgical. So she lied to me to ease my price concerns during the first visit. Linda would not give me any discount and just said to book another appointment, that I would also have to front the bill for again. She gave me no reason to ever return due to her poor service. I wasted $150 for 20 minutes of pain that had no lasting results. Very disappointed in her practice. Her receptionist, however, was very nice and seemed to understand my frustration. read more

I switched to Dr Fancher from another dermatologist who was also really good but had staff with the worst attitude. I have come to the conclusion that all dermatologists are booked MONTHS in advance so it's just something to live with. She is thorough, intelligent, personable, caring, and everything else you want from your doctor. She addressed every question I had without rushing me through. Satisfied with my first visit. This was my first time ever seeing a dermatologist and everything went well. My coworker recommended Dr. Fancher when I mentioned looking into seeing a derm for my melasma. I was seen quickly and felt confident in Dr. Fancher's recommendations. She didn't try to sell me anything and I loved how she explained the purpose of each ingredient in the cream she prescribed for me. All of her staff were kind and professional. Honestly I wouldn't recommend this office. The receptionist couldn't answer any questions I had and honestly was not very polite, I had to go back and forth between someone else who works there, Linda, and the receptionist and they all gave me different answers. Although I think Linda and the other worker are nice I was very stressed during my first appointment when I was told one of my freckles looked abnormal, I feel like Linda didn't do a great job reassuring me or explaining what needs to be done next until I had to call the office a few times. For someone who has never been to the dermatologist or had an "abnormal mark", that's stressful. Once she did remove the freckle and sent off the results to the pathology, she said everything was normal which made me question if it really needed to be done in the first place. My husband ended up taking out my stitches for me so I didn't have to return. I also had a large bill from the pathologist because it was billed out of network with no knowledge to me, even though I was assured everything would be covered, the pathologist bill also had a lot of charges on it even though I only had one tissue sample done and when I asked for a call back from Linda's office, no one responded. I have never left a bad review but I feel like it's important that other people know some experiences. read more

I have just returned from my first appointment with Dr. Fancher and I must say that this was one of the best experiences that I have ever had with a physician. Her staff, particularly Esther the bookings receptionist, went out of their way to be as accommodating to patients as possible. They were friendly, courteous, and most importantly, professional which immediately instills a confidence in the quality of the practice. As I was a walk in patient, I had plenty of time to observe staff/patient interaction and from what I observed Dr Fancher has a first rate staff. When I eventually got in to see the doctor, I could not have been more pleased with the excellent service I received. She was extremely patient, she listened, she proffered information that was very helpful and she treated me as though she had all the time in the world to attend to my concerns. Dr Fancher was so nice and helpful. My girlfriend recommended I go to her and I am so glad I did. I have had a few issues with the sun and I was worried that I might be neglecting my skin, I feel so much more informed and comfortable with how to take care of myself because I went to see her. We have another appointment set up already and I am just a million times more comfortable now that I'm seeing her. I was very frustrated with the unavailability of dermatologists in HNL and when I did see one at Kuakini Medical, he barely had any time to discuss my non cosmetic issue and said he couldn't do anything...I kept researching via the Web and liked what I read of Dr Fancher. I was only given a "walkin appt" but as my skin condition worsened, I had little choice as I was intent in seeing her. Her office called me a week later to advise of a cancellation so was provided a "real appt" that I have become forever grateful. As soon as I met Dr., she asked that I call her Linda...unlike the "DR" at Kuakini, Linda allowed me the explain the details of my medical issue and proceeded to fully discuss my options. She explained that would need to research further and once the lab work was returned, she would analyze what antibiotics would be needed pending the lab results. She also recommended a dermatological surgeon that could minimize my cost for a skin growth along with other Dr. referrals for other less dire issues. Having been through extensive cancer treatments and subsequent surgeries for the past 3 years, I feel qualified to share what I know to be a truly knowledgeable, compassionate, professional yet genuinely sincere and humble Doctor...this list now includes Dr Linda Fancher. There's many brilliant physicians out there, and I've had the good fortune to be treated by some really great ones that when you meet them, you will know that are not only good doctors, but Good People...don't give up in trying to see them. read more
