I apologize in advance for this lengthy review. Sometimes long stories are necessary to properly convey how great a company is... We initially hired Clarence & his crew to come and change out our rocks & add pretty plants in the front yard. We had just built a Koi pond and the builders really messed up the existing rocks when they went to dig up that area. Mililani red dirt is one of the worst staining dirt on this planet. I called several other landscaping companies to get estimates for the job. Clarence was the only one that answered me within minutes of leaving a message. He then came over after a job that he was working on and we chatted about what needed to be done. We were very impressed with Clarence's knowledge and his ability to communicate his vision while keeping our wants in mind. I looked no further, and upon receiving the estimate for the work, we were put on the schedule which was about 2 weeks after our initial meet. During the first part of the yard transformation I asked Clarence if he could give me another estimate for removal of a plumeria tree, re-planting and removal of banana tree stumps in another area of our property. Clarence and his great crew only took 2 days to complete the koi pond area planting and placing pretty rocks around the pond. They also removed old rocks that were damaged during the building of our pond and replaced those rocks as well. By this time, I had complete trust in Clarence's experience and knowledge and let him decide the colors of rocks to go into our yard. We were completely happy with the work that was done and really couldn't believe our eyes as we looked at our beautiful front yard. However, that plumeria tree still needed to go as well as the banana tree stumps on the other side of our property. Not a problem! Once again, we were given a fair estimate for the job and scheduled another 2 days for this work to be completed. Not only that, I also asked Clarence to dig up a small portion of dead grass in our back yard and place artificial turf there so that our dogs could do their business in that area which is separate from a large grassy area. Clarence did not disappoint! In fact, he went ABOVE & BEYOND to get all of those areas pretty for us. This was done once again, in just 2 days. We are so very pleased with Hawaii Scenescape, Clarence & crew. If I could, I would add 100 more stars to this review. read more

I don't often rate business on Yelp so please know I thought this business was *exceptional* for me to bother reviewing it. Clarence was the first to respond to our quote request on Yelp. (Other businesses wanted to charge 50% more.) I explained the issue, sent photos, and explained our small budget. He was professional and paid attention to details. For example, when he knew he had to reschedule, he made sure to text well in advance. Also, he texted ahead to let us know when he was on his way with another worker and rang the doorbell even though he'd be working in the backyard just to alert us he was there. When I asked if he needed our address via text that I had previously shared in Yelp messages, he responded he had already saved it. On top of all of that, while fixing our yard issue (in less than 10 minutes) he noticed another problem and said he had the part laying around and he'd come another day to install it AND we could just have the replacement. (I'm not saying that's going to happen to you, but knowing our agreed upon budget, he really stuck to it.) So he came another day and installed it. It was also easy to pay via invoice which he emailed to us. So all that being said, he gave the best value and was the most responsive on Yelp.
