The reason we visit here is for their mochi. The mochi is some of the best I've ever had, and I have been to Japan to try theirs. The flavors are chocolate, peanut butter chocolate, and azuki bean (red bean). I'm not a peanut butter fan nor chocolate, so I just ate the red bean mochi. The mochi is so soft and the red bean filling is not too sweet and filled with a good amount of it. Since it is a family business, the hours are fluctuate constantly. When holidays, birthdays, special occasions roll around, Lee Bear is such a great place to find an assortment of goodies for friends and loved ones. Their gift baskets are filled with treats like candies, Maui Cookkwees, gourmet cookies and rice krispies that have been dipped in a rich, decadent chocolate coating; freshly hand-dipped in their store to ensure high quality flavor. My favorite is the white chocolate covered pretzels with rice krispies, marshmallows, etc. SO good. It's the first thing I call dibs on when I see it. Haha! Just recently, I stopped in when my little one suggested we make lollipops. They had a wide selection of molds, gel food coloring, candy thermometer, basically everything and anything we needed. I tried an edible arrangement but they would not deliver it to Maui hospital. I was able to get a hold of the kind lady from Lee Bear and although it was after hours, she took the time to talk to me. She listened to my situation and kindly took down my information and when she went to the store the next day, she made my order and delivered it to the hospital!! What amazing service! This is a prime example of living aloha!! I cannot even say how much I appreciated what she had done for me and how much it meant to me.
