Sweet Paradise Maui was such a wonderful experience! The chocolates were amazing, but what stood out most to me was the kindness and care of the staff. At one point, my child was touching some delicate items, and before I even noticed, a staff member gently and politely reminded her to be careful. I was actually grateful for the correction because I could've been held responsible for the demages done. It truly takes a village to help raise children, and I appreciated how she handled the situation with patience and kindness rather than frustration. Mahalo to this wonderful lady working her. The sweetest chocolate shop in the Wailea Gateway area. We stumbled across this place while killing time for seats at a restaurant nearby. The uncle was the sweetest and very patient with my 2 littles. They were so amazed with all of the different chocolate flavors and turtle (honu) shaped chocolates. Elegant chocolatier, Wailea Maui After lunch next door we stopped by this small chocolate store in the Wailea Gateway shopping center, corner of Piilani Highway and Wailea Ike Drive. The shoppe showcased a fancy collection of decadent chocolates and delicious Hawaiian confectionery, so pretty and elegantly displayed. My sweet tooth had gone full-blown craving. Saw this shop advertised and we made the long drive from Nāpili. Beautiful display of chocolates but the elderly woman behind the counter was not helpful and quite unfriendly. Spent $100 on a few small boxes of chocolates and the highly promoted Ube chocolate bars. Would have been nice to sample these bars, they were awful and we ended up tossing them in the trash. We visited Sweet Paradise during our vacation to Maui. The chocolates here are beautiful works of art and they have so many unique flavors. Tamara was so patient with us as we asked many questions and were really indecisive. She helped customize our boxes to give our friends. We like the chocolate covered macadamia nuts, the toffee, the black lava salt caramels, Lychee, lilikoi, POG, coconut, and crème brûlée flavors. There are many to chose from and all are really tasty. This is not a review of the chocolates. This is a review of a business with an employee who is openly flouting the indoor mask mandate by wearing a sequined mesh mask. Which is to say it's the F you mask. I'm wearing one because it's the state law but it's filled with holes so I can breathe and I can spread my breath all over you and the chocolates I'm selling. Went in on Dec 26th evening to buy some as gifts and a middle aged lady working behind the counter was proudly wearing her sequined mask where you can see her mouth. It's too bad because their chocolates are good and it is locally owned business. With people who work behind the counter openly defying state law, not only are they disrespecting the tourists who comply with the laws, they clearly don't care if they spread the virus. This is exactly what locals mean when they say not pono. Utterly disappointing to see a local business behaving this way. read more

I've been wanting to see what they had available for a while & I finally walked into this shop for the first time last week. They have a variety of decadent chocolate pieces nicely displayed in their cases. There were also a handful of local Hawaii-made products like honey, coffee, other chocolates, & ICE CREAM! Now, I went in with every intention of trying out their chocolate concoctions, but emerged with a large scoop of ice cream instead. Haha. This girl LOVES ice cream & I just couldn't resist. The ice cream is handmade on the Big Island by Tropical Dreams Ice Cream Company. 1 scoop is $4.99, a little steep, but they are very big scoops and the quality was amazing! The nice lady behind the counter mixed 2 flavors in my scoop for me - salted caramel & tahitian vanilla. Both flavors were very good and you can definitely taste the difference in quality in this gourmet ice cream. It's very dense, rich, and oh sooooo yummy! I highly recommend trying their ice cream! They have prepackaged gifts, ice cream and lots of hand crafted chocolates. You can also buy individual chocolates in different designs and unique flavors. We decided to buy the prepackaged turtle shaped chocolates for the family. They can ship it out of state just in time for the holidays. My favorite was the chocolate covered Kona coffee beans. Chocolate Store?! Yes!! Pineapple habanero was good as you can taste the pineapple first and the the high kick of habanero at the end which is spicy! Coconut crime brûlée was really good. Madagascar vanilla was kind of plain... but I loved the dark chocolate flavor! Passion fruit heart was very strong but pretty good overall. Mint was pretty good, something you would expect. Overall this place has some good chocolate, great to give as gifts! But on the expensive side for sure.
