I take my E83 specifically to Hawaii vintage auto because Ken and his team care about service and workmanship.

So after negotiating a drop off date (16 May) to get my truck repainted, it took 11 days to start…read moreworking on it. 27 May. It was finished and ready for pick up on 6 June. I was off island until that evening. They were closed 7 June and I picked it up 8 June. The repainted color I am satisfied with but the detail work was mediocre at best. There is a ton of overspray on the rubber around the windows and rear view mirrors. Additionally, there are already a few chips in the paint in a few spots which will be a problem in the near future. This has been months of frustration. I am now just over it and will not return to this establishment again for paint work. I will say that the manager was apologetic about the delays due to staffing issues but honestly due to the way this was handled initially, I should have been a top priority and more detail and attention should have been given to my vehicle. In the manager's defense, he did take matters into his hands and conducted a majority of the work himself and I am appreciative of that. I have spent the last 2 hours attempting to clean up the overspray and it will take me several more to get it all removed. Overall , I wish this would have been handled better but you live and you learn. Again, I am satisfied with the color but not the delays in service nor the level of attention to detail. I paid a pretty penny for my vehicle and the paint job was not cheap. The expectations were high but not met. This is my honest assessment and I have no hard feelings towards the establishment nor the folks I have dealt with during this process. Mahalo!

They replaced the large insignia, but they said that I would have to put back the small letters myself. Also while cleaning the car for an inspection, in addition to finding the small letters for the trunk door, I found water in my wheel well for the spare tire in the trunk. I told them that they forgot to reattach the other end of a plastic tube that ran rain water in the trunk door top right corner. They said that they don't detach that. But they had detached the rubber foam seal on trunk door when they painted the car. The seal is in the same area of the door as the plastic tube. If I had known ahead of time about the small letters, I might not have gotten the work done there. Usually shops will replace whatever they took off the car, and not leave everything inside the car for the owner to put back. To be fair, they did put back some of the stuff I found in the car after I picked up the car- like the car insignia, the rubber foam seal on the trunk door.

Not only is a quick response on a Saturday a highly unusual experience for me, another surprise was his willingness to offer a Sunday consultation, in-person at the shop. The location is easy to miss, but just give Joe a call or text and he will guide you to the right bay. He has a clean and spacious office with AC!!! Conditions of the front-end repairs were discussed, and it was easy to discern Joe has experience working with insurance companies. Although the insurance company authorized the repairs, we chose not to complete them because ours was a JDM, with only 24 of these on the continental united states. This meant we could insure it, but would be issued a salvage title. We needed a vehicle for everyday activities of daily living and not as a custom show mobile, so we sadly sureendered the 1998 Nissan Serena to the insurance company. Joe took care of all the insurance stuff, including storage of the vehicle and towing it to auction. Should we have the misfortune of needing collision repair...MOS DEF... I normally don't leave reviews, but I feel obligated to share our experience…read more Our 2011 Toyota RAV4 has been at Encore Collision since October 2025 for repairs. Over several months, we were repeatedly told that work was in progress, parts were on order, or that the vehicle was nearing completion. It's March 31, 2026 and it is still not finished. However, during multiple in-person visits, there has been little to no visible progress. Communication has been inconsistent, and there were times we arrived during business hours and no one was available. We understand that delays can happen, but the lack of transparency and follow-through has been extremely frustrating and completely unacceptable. We also observed signage indicating BBB accreditation; however, the BBB website currently lists this business as not accredited, which was confusing and concerning. At this point, we have had to escalate the matter in order to seek resolution. We hope this can still be resolved professionally, but based on our experience, we would strongly advise others to proceed with caution as there are many red flags despite the positive reviews.

I'm very, VERY disappointed and upset with the results of taking my car to this auto body shop…read more Initially I took my car there to fix the front and the side. I had gotten into a minor fender bender which damaged the front and then later backed along side a pole and damaged the side, all cosmetic stuff. One the incidents I reported to insurance, the other I didn't. Like I mentioned it was just cosmetic stuff that needed to be fixed yet when I got the estimate, they said way more stuff needed to be fixed than I thought but I just went along with it because I'd used them before and everything had gone ok. Also, it seemed very strange that they said it was you going to take over a week to fix when like I've said it was just cosmetic stuff because no lights ever went off in car indicating anything was wrong, but I just went along with everything because I assumed they were being honest and I don't know a whole lot about cars myself. So I got a rental and they fixed my car. When it was ready they called and said I could pick it up which I believe was on a Friday but then they called back and said they needed to fix something else and it wasn't ready yet. So Monday came along and they called and said my car was ready however I had to work the next two days and wasn't able to pick it up until Wednesday. You'd think that they would just say ok, see you Wednesday since really they're the ones that delayed me picking up the car in the first place but instead they insisted and told me I HAD TO pick up the car Monday. I told them that there was no way I could do that and again they insisted that I had to so I had to have my boyfriend go and pick up the car and I had to wait till Wednesday to drop off the rental which they assured me they would pay for the extra days. However when I went and dropped off the rental, Enterprise had received no call from them stating that they were going to pay for the extra days, so I explained to them the whole situation and they felt bad and so they comped me the two days. Not only that the day after my boyfriend Picked up the car from the shop I was walking around the passenger side by the mirror which they were supposed to have fixed and noticed a giant crack and scratch still on the back of the mirror. I called them actually I even went down there and showed them and they said oh we only fixed part of it if you want the scratch and crack fixed you're gonna have to pay for it. I think that's absolutely ridiculous. If you tell somebody you're gonna fix something you fix the entire thing not part of it and I don't see why I should have to pay for it. I think that's terrible customer service. I think they overcharged me and I think they fix things that did not need to be fixed just so they could charge me more. When my boyfriend went to pick up the car they told him only the bunper and mirror had been fixed but then when we looked at the bill every sensor in front of the car had been changed out. I believe if it's not fraud they're at least changing out their old inventory so they can get new stuff. I would not recommend this place at all and if I ever need my car fixed again, I will never ever go there. Also, at one point when I was trying to get a hold of them, their phone wasn't working And kept looping me back to the same message so I literally had to go down there in person just to ask Them something. So ridiculous and unprofessional. Oh and lastly they didn't put one of the emblems from the car back on. Baaaaaad service!!!!! DO NOT USE GERBER COLLISION IN KAKAAKO!!!!!!

Very minor fender bender - bumper and headlight needs replaced. Told me that because the at fault drivers insurance sent my car to another body shop for their estimate and I said that I *thought* they had removed bumper to see hidden damage. Gerber stated that I HAD to use that body shop - specially that I am "not allowed" to go to another body shop, even though I'm paying cash myself. They refused to even look at car for estimate and immediately cancelled my appointment. Other guys Insurance company gave me full payout since their estimate was more than the other guys policy limit. That means - I'm paying cash so not sure why a Tesla approved shop won't touch the car because another shop already looked at it. That's wild because they weren't even going to be working with insurance. (Btw I called other body shop again and they actually did not remove the bumper to look for hidden damage after all). ‍ I was just trying to find recommended body shop for my Tesla since I'm paying for repairs myself. Guess Gerber is not it.
