Worst tour company! Worst tour company ever. My husband and I thought since we were huge fans of the TV show LOST and going to Oahu that it would be worth spending just over $500 for a tour of lost filming locations. We figured since this may be a once in a lifetime trip that we should splurge on this. We did look up tons of locations on our own, but thought that this would give us the little extras we might miss on our own. We also booked it for our second of 9 days in case we wanted to go back to any of the locations. We were picked up by Tom who seemed ok although a bit quirky. Not long into our ALL day tour, he was straight out rude. He would mumble information and if we asked him to repeat it, he would either quickly mumble an answer we couldn't understand or ignore us all together. Beware, he also took us to Hurley's mental institution and showed us the wrong building. My husband caught this and we walked across a lawn to see the actual site. It was private property so we were unable to go right up to the building. We did tell him that we were going to take a couple of quick pictures and he was fine with it. The botanical garden is where Kate and Sawyer's waterfall is. We had to pay the entry fee which is clearly noted on the website, but it should be noted that it is a long walk to it and there is so much to see that you do not have time to enjoy it all. We rushed to the waterfall and were prepared to swim for about 20 minutes, but it was completely filled with tourists, it was not like it was on the show. They also require you to wear a life vest to swim and it is not a dangerous little area to swim in. Needless to say we sat for a few minutes then made our way back down to the meeting spot in the parking lot. Now, it was time for lunch, the website is misleading. If you go to the burger restaurant formally co-owned by Daniel Dae Kim, your tour gets cut short that time. We opted to grab something quick. There is no vegetarian option according to Tom other than the local grocery store, Foodland. We quickly ate some prepared food inside and went back to the car. Tom said we should have eaten "on the go" because that was the plan. He had a new Range Rover and he never told us this. We did not think we were supposed to. We said we found both vegetarian and meat options and they were great, he replied that he was surprised because it was "it was a dive". We were confused as to why he would take customers to a "dive". We enjoyed our dinner. It found this rude and unprofessional for him to criticize the place he took us to and that we enjoyed. Throughout the tour we would try to have conversations, but it was obvious he did not want to engage. We even offered him a bottle of water since it was a warm day, he declined. During the entire day he would speed, often doubling the speed limit. He was not paying attention as he was on both his phone texting and looking through his iPad. His sporadic driving did not feel safe, but it was out of our control and we paid a lot of money for this so we just had to deal with it. There was one time where we asked to roll down the window to take pictures of the radio tower because he was not stopping as it wasn't part of our scheduled stops and he said it was fine, which later he lied about and called my husband and I rude for rolling down the window. The tour ended and we politely parted ways with Tom. We kept our manners throughout the day even though it was not returned on his end. We even asked if we were taking too long at some spots when taking pictures and he would always say we were good. Although, there were times where he would start to head back to the car without us, or not even get out at all and we felt rushed. My husband and I reflected on what happened during the 6 long hours we spent with Tom. We just were not happy that we spent over $500 for this tour and did not enjoy ourselves and were often made to feel uncomfortable. Since we were picked up at the condo we rented, we opted to contact the tour company after we returned home. We requested a call the call came and the man by the name of Paul Slavik immediately demanded to know what I was hoping to get out of the phone call. He sounded very much like our tour guide Tom, his tone, delivery, and impatient words. I asked he listen to what I had to say before anything because I did not want anyone else to have this experience. He ignored that and said to tell him what I wanted to get out of the phone call then I could talk. I remained calm and did not feed into his attitude, I asked for half of my money to be refunded, as we did were driven around that day. He said "done" and I insisted I explain what happened. I went into details and there was little response to anything I said other than the occasional rushed "yup" that let me know he hadn't hung up on me. The conversation ended and he abruptly got off the phone. About 2 weeks later our refund showed up. read more

HAWAIIAN ESCAPADES PROVIDE TOURS FOR THE TV SHOW LOST ??? WHAT A LAUGH!!! HAWAIIAN ESCAPADES beware, just because they do tours of the TV SHOW LOST , does not mean they are LOST fans. I even had my guide say he hates the show LOST. The tour guide flat out told us he was not a fan of the show. That may be, but I could not believe he would actually tell us this while we were on a very expensive tour specifically for the show! You could tell that he was not a fan, he was not knowledgeable at all and couldn't answer very many questions. Again, he just stuck to the script he was given. The tour guide was absolutely horrid, he's definitely in the wrong line of work. He kept talking to us as if we were stupid, explaining over and over again how the Lost show used buildings for filming, as if we don't know what filming on location means. He kept saying, "Why re-invent the wheel? They just used what was there and made it their own". He must have told us this at least 20 times. He also kept repeating other phrases over and over throughout the day, which was very annoying. It was like he had a script and did not vary from it. There were very long stretches of driving where he didn't say anything. All in all it was a pretty miserable day and I cannot believe for the amount of money we paid, the tour was so lousy. We are huge fans of the Lost show and were hugely dissapointed. I will definitely NEVER RECOMMEND HAWAIIAN ESCAPADES TO ANY OF MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY VISITING HAWAII. read more

My husband and I had a great tour of some of the sites from the new Hawaii 5-0. We are fans of the show and it was our first visit to Oahu, so it was a great way to see both see the sites of the island and memorable scenes from the show. Thom was very knowledgable of both the show and the island. It was a small tour - just four people and our guide - so it was very personal and he was very attentive to us and our questions. read more

What a wonderful day and it won't soon be forgotten. First, we had the fortune to come across the film production crew and got a peak at a couple of the Lost stars... I can't wait to see what Jack, Kate and Hurley are up to when the episode airs during the 6th season. Second, our guide had a vast knowledge of not only the Lost episodes but also a great deal knowledge of the history, culture and ecology of Oahu. That was a great benefit for us to hear. Thanks to our guide for the pictures taken during our swim at the waterfall... we didn't bring our waterproof camera so it was nice that our guide stayed along the shoreline and took some pictures while we played in the pool and sat under the waterfall. We had a GREAT time on this tour. It is not to be missed whether you are a LOST fan or not. If you are, it's amazing because you get to see a bunch of locations of very prominent scenes through all the seasons of LOST...it's amazing that they are able to transform honolulu and its surrounding areas into places like Thailand, Japan, the U. K., etc. with just a few details. But if you're not a LOST fan, it's still great because basically it's a tour of many areas of Honolulu, plus a little ways up the Windward side of the island where you get to go on a beautiful, scenic, and leisurely walk/hike. We went on a light day for the tour company, so we ended up getting our own private tour (just 2 of us!). They could have just refused to do our tour that day but they still ran it with only the 2 of us which was really cool of them. Our tour guide was amazing, really friendly and informative, and helped us take lots of great photos. The tour itself was more active than I thought, which was really cool. We got to walk around a lot, and I thought it was going to be us sitting in the car most of the time, which it wasn't. Our tour guide was really knowledgeable about LOST and the production but also just about the island in general. He recommended the Koko Crater Hike to us when we drove out to the windward side of the island, and we went back on our own a few days later. Also, on our walking tour of downtown Honolulu, he showed us a couple great restaurants and bars which we then went back to a couple days later. We went on the LOST tour on our 2nd day on the island which was perfect, because we ended up returning to some of our guide's recommended places over the course of our stay. My wife & I are huge ' LOST ' fans. We took a LOST tour with hawaiian escapades and really enjoyed it. Our tour guide was named Thom and he took us to the places where LOST was filmed. Even though the show ended this year he showed us the crash beach, the waterfall, Dharma barracks, Santa Rosa mental health building, the building Locke was pushed out the window, Nigerian airport, tree where Nigerian plane got stuck in, tree where Kate hid from smoke monster, house Kate blew up and killed her step-father ( father), tree where kate & boyfriend hid time capsule, bridge where Jin met Sun, tree where Richard buries cross, Oxford university, church where Charlie confesses an Mr. Eko was a priest, Mr Paik house where Jin & Sun get married, building Kate goes to court in, restaurant where Sawyer meets women's husband for scam, street where Bernard helps Rose get her car out of snow, Bank Kate robs to get toy airplane, bar where Desmond goes in England, & building of Austrailian walkabout tour was. We consider ourselves pretty much LOST experts, but we even learned a few things for Thom our guide. They also do other tours too. Thom was doing tours when they were shooting LOST and knows the location of where the episodes where some of the survivors went to stay in the caves. Although there really wasn't any real caves the area is hidden in the jungle and you would have NO idea it was in there! AMAZING! They do other tours of the island too.
