Like many others, we did ample research before diving into this tour. The appeal for me was the: - included lunch - guidebook given at the end outlining Oahu's nature WRITTEN BY THE CEO! - focus on flora and fauna - competitive price point - good pick up locations My favorite stops were: - the Botanical garden which many other tours offer as well - Pali Lookout for King Kamehameha's victory and the wind The not so fun: - Chinaman's Hat, would've preferred the nut farm Our guide Kainoa taught us about the nature, history, Hawaiian language, personal storytelling especially with his grandfather and brother, some cool stories (spoilers ahead) include: - Grandpa and brother touching Pacific Ocean at the same time in Honolulu and San Diego which is touching the same thing - Polynesians keeping sharks as pets, one of grandma's friends kept a 14 ft long tiger shark and fed it in knee deep water - The events of Pearl Harbor and December 7th 1941 through his grandpa's eyes - Hawaii's transition from sugar cane to tourism Some other cool random events include: - two peoples birthdays - proposal on board! My wife got the ultimate all inclusive circle Island tour. She tells me that a lot of companies offer the same tour and she had to research tons of reviews to choose the best one so hopefully my review will help others know what to expect. I will address all the things she told me she would find in reviews. First off this tour has pick up (and drop off) spots near your hotel so it's easy to get to. Second, the stops that require an entry fee, are paid from the tour, because she tells me that she read some tours don't actually pay the fee at the various locations. Third, it has a lot of locations included and some stops are 15 to 20 minutes only, but we found that was more than enough time to get out, get some nice scenic photos, read any informational plaques and get back to the bus. At most of the stops we were seated 5 minutes before the time we were meant to be back. So if the stop is short, there probably isn't much to do there, so don't worry. Some complaints were that the tour was too long (apparently it's either too long or too short) but considering the amount of stuff you see, I think it's just the right amount of time. We started the day with a 730am pickup and were back by 630pm. They stopped for lunch which had a decent amount of choices and the lunch was quite good. The choices included, shrimp, chicken, vegetarian meals and pork I believe, so if all those aren't stuff you would like, just bring a sandwich with you. We both had the shrimp and it was really good and fresh. For dessert they took us to the dole plantation where we got a dole whip which if you have never had one, it's a pineapple based non dairy ice cream. Due to it being made locally with local pineapples, it tastes a lot better than the dole whip we have had before. The plantation also has a shop with a lot of pineapple based things to buy and we spent way too much money there :p Finally I have to mention our tour guide Branndon (with two n's despite autocorrect trying to change it). He made the tour worth every penny. During the whole trip he was providing us with information about the history of Hawaii and information on various locations we would pass by. I booked the All Inclusive Ultimate Circle Island Day Tour with Lunch and Waterfall via Viator. I didn't realize I was booking a tour on a huge bus, or I would not have booked this tour. That being said, we still had a pretty good time, other than dealing with a large crowd because we were on a huge bus. Our tour guide, Brandon, was outstanding and incredibly knowledgeable. Without him, I would have rated this tour no higher than 2-3 stars. Our driver, "K," was outstanding and friendly. The tour stopped at intetesting sights and the lunch was very good. If you don't mind being on a bus of around 50 people, this tour is well worth the time and money. If you don't like big crowds, try to book a smaller group tour. read more

Thank you Oahu Nature Tours for taking great care of my parents! We signed my parents up for the tour since husband and I were pretty much landlocked with baby at our hotel. Despite us being stuck at the hotel, we really wanted my parents to enjoy their first trip to Hawaii and see what Oahu has to offer. Searching online, we decided to go with Oahu Nature Tours. We were not disappointed. My parents had a blast. The bus was spacious and comfortable. The AC was great. The driver was safe. My parents didn't experience any motion sickness. This was critical, as my mom is pretty sensitive to winding roads. We did alert the tour guide of this, and he was so gracious and accommodating. He told us that he'd be sure to check up on my mom (which she verified to me at the end of the day that he did indeed check on her multiple times), arrange for her to sit up front if necessary, and had medications if needed. We had come ultra prepared as my mom already had a scopolamine patch on, but regardless she did well on the trip. The tour itself was great. It hit up so many monumental spots of Oahu. It took away the inconvenience of travel for my elderly parents. No planning, no GPS required, etc. All they needed were comfortable walking shoes, a poncho/rain jacket for unpredictable island weather, and a phone for taking photos. They returned with a million gorgeous photos taken from around the island. They enjoyed their shrimp lunch provided on the tour. 10/10 would recommend for anyone who requires a convenient, safe, efficient way to check out the island with no planning required. I did the Circle Island Tour in August. Overall, I had a good experience. I enjoyed getting to see so much of Oahu without having to drive myself. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, and I gained a lot from the experience. But, the tour is eleven hours, 7am to 6pm. And, that is a long time to do anything. After the first 2/3 of the trip, I would have enjoyed more quiet and less talking from the tour guide. After a while, it got a bit annoying. I think the tour guide was doing their best and trying to keep it interesting, so I don't fault them too much for this. JoJo and Seng conducted our tour! It was our first activity through a company and while we really appreciated it at the time, but now, on our third excursion, we appreciate it even more! JoJo was entertaining, hilarious, knowledgeable and a fantastic storyteller. He's got an innate ability to dramatize the story and keep his audience's complete attention. Seng was a fantastic driver. He kept us safe and got into and out of spots that looked impossible. Loved the botanical gardens, the temple and lunch at Sumi's. JoJo and Seng worked so hard to get us our lunch while it was still hot! Plus, as an added bonus, there was a singer at Sumi's that was fantastic! He was hilarious!! So impressed. We took the North Shore circle island tour. Monique was our guide and was so friendly and welcoming. She provided many facts about Oahu, Hawaii and the sites we saw. The tour is 7 hours long but it went by so quickly, as the tour spots were planned perfectly. Lunch was included and so good! We had a full meal, beverage and dessert. I don't know any other tour that will provide lunch at this price! We saw many beautiful sites and things off the beaten path that we may not have been able to find ourselves. So happy we did this tour on our last full day in Oahu, it closed our trip up perfectly. My boyfriend and I purchased tickets for the ultimate circle tour and had the best experience working with this company. To start off, communication was amazing, they send you clear instructions on where to meet your pick up group and are very kind if you have any questions or concerns. They were able to respond to me within 24 hours when I asked for clarification on the picture of google maps they had emailed me on how to get to our pickup location. The pickup process was smooth and easy, located about a 2 minute walk away from our hotel and our instructor Greg was very kind and patient with our group throughout the tour, he gave us a detailed history on locations we passed by, answered our questions, and he even taught us proper pronunciation of a few Hawaiian words and phrases! I would definitely recommend this tour if you want to see A LOT - but make sure you are well-rested. My favorite part was the arboretum. So gorgeous and magical. Kainoa was super knowledgeable and I was excited to listen to him the whole time! He made leaf cranes for guests who were celebrating which was a really sweet touch. He was super patient with these two guests who were constantly holding the group up - customer service at its best, truly. Had a great North Shore Tour with Monique today we had made plenty of interesting stops and had a good time. She explained more than info about the island in our short trip than the tour we were on which lasted so much longer. The N Shore tour stops at all the locations that I wanted to see and had just enough time to get some great photos Monique explained the nature of the islands to us on our complete trip and it was nice listening to her instead of the chitter chatter in the bus. Unfortunately not everyone on our tour wanted to listen to the information she provided and decided to keep on chattering so we strained to hear and we learned quite a bit about the history behind Oahu and all of the plants and animals of Oahu. Actually, he hiked it several times - he backtracked to make sure everyone was okay, even the slow hikers. Bad: I don't remember anything bad about that day. We took the Diamond Head Crater hiking tour. Our guide, Greg, was great - knowledgeable and entertaining. We were picked up on time and arrived at Diamond Head before 9am. Greg commented it wasn't as crowded as usual, likely due to the early morning rain. All I can say is if that wasn't crowded, I definitely would not want to be there when it was! I would not classify the "hike" as a nature experience due to the mass of humanity. (Looked like ants climbing up a hill!) About two miles round trip but it is a climb. I brought my 35mm camera with me but could have left it at the hotel. I thought the group size of 24 was a bit large, although Greg handled it very well. It was excellent from beginning to the end. Branndon was our guide and Jose was our driver. This was our first time to Hawaii. We were celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary. I wished that we had taken this tour at the beginning of our trip because Branndon told us so many great places to eat but also great things to do. We loved the fact that Branndon taught us so much about the animals and plants of Hawaii. He was very funny and entertaining. He made us feel so like we were his friends. We just finished with our Manoa Falls trail hike, with our tour guide Jenn, she was amazing! We got picked up on time, the van had refreshing AC, it was a smooth ride to the location. I have to say Jenn was very friendly and very informative throughout the entire experience. Our party of 5 enjoyed every minute of the hike. Even though we started our day a little late due to the heavy traffic from the St. Patrick's Day Parade, Ross called us in advance to let us know and made sure the tour still ran on time without making us feel rushed! We stopped at the Valley of the Temples to visit the Byodo Temple, Laie Point (amazing lookout at the Oahu coastline), Sunset Beach where we saw incredible waves and surfers, we stopped off to see a few Green Sea Turtles by Waimea Bay, we drove through the beautiful village of Haleiwa and made our final stop at the Dole Plantation (pineapple fro yo!!) June 2018; went on a tour with Tori as our guide. When signing up for the tour I was looking forward to Dole Plantation and Turtle Beach. Unfortunately, we drove by Turtle Beach at 40 mph, being told to look out the window to see the turtles, so disappointed. Website shows photos of people actually ON THE BEACH, seeing the turtles. Dole Plantation was just a 30 minute experience off the bus, just enough time to stand in line for a dole whip and run back to the bus. I feel the reason for the time crunch was due to several riders on the bus that never returned in the time frame given which kept shortening our trips at other venues, unfortunately Tori did not take control of that situation. I had saved for years for this trip. read more

The North Shore Tour was the BEST thing the bf and I did in Hawaii! Visiting sites like the dragon's eye, chinaman's hat, shrimp farms, pineapple farms, turtle beach, and the beautiful countryside; It was quite the eventful day! Our guide was very informative and we learned so much about the island during this tour. The only downside is that the van they pick you up in is a little old. It seats about 8-10 per van with one person on the front seat. Which means if you're one of the last groups to be picked up, the chances of you getting to sit with your group or even another person is slim! Remember to wear comfy CLOSED-TOE shoes! read more

Booked the Ultimate Island Circle with Waimea Waterfall tour for Saturday May 18. + Greg was awesome. He gave nonstop facts through the entire tour while on the road. This is great if you want to learn about Oahu. He cautioned us: he has an 11-hour tour but can talk for 20 hours, which I believe. Don't take him too seriously as he loves to crack jokes. + Arrived early at pickup location. I was there ~10 minutes early and he was already waiting and had picked up a couple others (oops!). + Never felt rushed at locations, but see following note. +/- Locations were awesome and stop times were adequate, although Byodo-In Temple and Waimea Valley Botanical Gardens felt like they could have been slightly longer. Still enough time to enjoy each location. Overall, I would recommend the tour to any visitor. This was my third time on Oahu and first time taking such an extended tour but glad I did. I feel like the tour is worth more than the ~$116 I paid (directly through their website). Aloha/10, would go again! read more

My kids and I took the Diamond Head hike on June 23rd, with Justin as our guide. The hike was amazing, even the butt spanking stairs we had to climb! But the views from the top are not to be missed at any cost! Justin was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and really spread the feeling of Ohana! My only regrets were someone took the walking sticks out of the van, and we couldn't use one. And I wish my other son would have woke up to join us! When I return to visit family next year I can only hope that we get Justin again, because I'm booking the hike again!
