If I remember correctly, our driver's name was Neo and our guide was Ryan. We went on the grand tour--I don't remember if it was 16 or 20 stops, but it was a wonderful trip! The biggest highlights for us were the Byodo-In Temple and the Dole Plantation. We were originally going to drive ourselves to these places, but we were so glad we ran into the vendors on the street instead. Some of the stops didn't quite meet our expectations, but for the price (especially with the discount), it was well worth it. However, the real heartbeat of the tour wasn't even the sites--it was Neo and Ryan. They are incredibly knowledgeable about the island, and their presentation was filled with heartwarming honesty, real facts, and no sugar-coating. They made sure to include everyone in the conversation, which showed such genuine care for the guests. We absolutely loved them and would tour with them again on any other adventures. I wish I could give this company 0 stars, but let the one star I'm forced to give be in honor of the incredible bus driver NEIL and our guide KING MIKE. They're both hilarious and very knowledgeable! ------------------------------- As a travel agent, I like to recommend yours or experienced that I myself have tried. While 'Im not much of a tour bus enthusiast, to ensure that my clients end up with a good one-- I decided to try Nui Tours. Unfulfilled promises by Jack (the owner): small group, Mercedes Van, all of the stops, snorkeling at a specific beach, we did not want to stop at certain places and were told we could customize, souvenir hats, 2 bottles of champagne, unlimited juices/snacks/drinks, and the discounted price per person. What we got: the bus was 30 minutes late, no one answers the phone number, HUGE OLD TOUR BUS (58 people), we did not get to choose our stops or how long we stopped somewhere, they had water bottles and Pringles (no juice/no champagne/no other snacks that were promised), and on top of several other things-- they charged us full price. WE ARE STILL AWAITING A REFUND of the amount that was overcharged. Jack has lied to us, taken zero accountability, and still refuses to answer the phone. I can't help to think that half of his warrants are for fraud at this point. There is no clear communication and several tour companies show up at the same location, so if you got suckered into these tours-- please verify with each driver to see if your name is on their list. PHENOMENAL! If you are going to go on a bus tour on the island of Oahu this one will NOT disappoint! Our bus tour was on Wednesday September 11th 2024. The huge tour bus pulled up at the Duke statue. Our tour guide was one of the last remaining 100% Hawaiian natives...Aka. Aka wax absolutely incredible. Not only does he guide you the entire 10ish hour journey with stories about his life, his family, growing up on the forbidden island of Ni'ihau, Hawaiian culture..but you also feel lighter when you get off that bus at the end of the day as if you had a spiritual awakening. You will hear him say pretty often...pretty cool yo...which a lot of locals say at the end of their sentences. It was endearing. He had such positivity and reminds us that we're all human and at the end of the day to be kind to one another, respect everyone especially elders, and enjoy every day as it comes. My fav stops were snorkeling where it was pretty murky and then I decided to meditate on the shore and a sea turtle came right up to where I was. Crazy! I also loved the time we spent at the temple. Buy food to feed the fish, light some incense, etc. Dole was a must see tourist attraction and getting some dole whip. The nuts we brought back from our stop on the north shore are almost gone, they were delish. Lots of fun stops to also buy souvenirs for family and friends...I bought honey, magnesium drops, name stickers, and some items along the way. This is a great tour to get the lay of the land especially if you are staying in Waikiki and not renting a car...or trying to see as many sites in one day. We had Aka as our tour guide as well. My major complaint is that he didn't seem to realize we are tourists in regard to our safety. Him and the bus driver stopped at shark cove because they could not go to turtle beach due to the recent flooding. That was such a dangerous decision. My sister, mom and I thought we were getting picked up at 7, but Jay called to check in on us and they were the SWEETEST humans for waiting for us! Nui tours put my family's life in danger by trying to drive us through an ACTIVE FLOOD ZONE on the north shore of Oahu. Our bus was pulling over and holding up traffic for first responders trying to save lives. Very unsafe, IRRESPONSIBLE , and DISRESPECTFUL . This is a review for my tour from April. I meant to do one but forgot. I bought it from a stand in the street and it was $100 each. We got picked up on time but we waited around a long time to pick up some other ppl who had gotten left behind by other tour buses. We did enough in the time allotted to feel like I got my moneys worth. I loved the shrimp place we stopped and ate at... I still think about the delicious garlic rice we did also see turtles when we went snorkeling so that was nice. The only reason I wanted to leave a review was to praise Kathleen. She was a wonderful tour guide. She is very passionate about her job and educating the tourists about the history of Hawaii and the injustices they've experienced through the years. I really appreciated it and it has stuck with me. I had no idea about it prior to her informative tour. She also shared handouts with info on turtles and other things as she was talking. I'm a visual learner so I appreciated that as well. She had a good sense of humor too. I only remembered that I still need to write a review because John Oliver's show just did a segment on Hawaii and it went in depth how the native Hawaiians have gotten screwed over by the US government and rich ppl over the years. This was my 2nd time going on a circle island tour, the last time being in 2018. This was a full bus and my family of 8 couldn't sit together but we were at least paired off. The bus was about 30-45 min late picking us up, so many people got on the bus in frustrated moods. I felt like our tour guide's energy could've been a bit more enthusiastic at first to diffuse the situation and help lighten the mood up faster. Our tour guide's mic was pretty terrible and it was difficult hearing him but he was nice and was more than happy to go to the middle and repeat himself for the back half. He was definitely more laid back than the other one I had in 2018 who was more thorough and talkative...not bad, not good, just different. I was bummed we didn't stop by Fumi's Shrimp for lunch, esp since other Yelp pics show they do. We had lunch at a macadamia nut farm and it failed to impress. Overall I still think it was a good tour and I especially appreciated how nice the tour guide was to my 10-year old cousin, he must have experience talking to kids because he knew how to make the experience special for her more than once, especially at the snorkeling stop. I believe his name was Kehua and the driver was King Mike. There was a 2nd tour guide but I didn't catch his name. I called the tour company later two separate times to ask to confirm the names of our tour guides for my review but despite finding me in the system, they didn't know which tour guides we had and that they'd text me later - neither of them did unfortunately. read more

Milo, our driver and tourguide, was fantastic from pick-up to drop-off. He is a wealth of information! Prompt pick-up, clean bus, multiple stops for food, restrooms and perfect timing on tourist spots for photos. He had full control of the bus and was a safe driver while telling us the history, snippet and info on what we're seeing in front of us. I called to make this reservation and the woman I spoke to was super helpful. However, either she didn't book the correct grand tour 16 locations and snorkeling or we did not go to most stops and subbed in others. King Mike is THE KING! His personality and jokes made the trip even more exciting and fun! We explored many new things and got to see and eat lots of things! 100% yes, Yes, YES! Do this tour if you've never been to Honolulu! Book your whole party! Children to adults. Everyone is going to enjoy this. We took our whole party and the only complaint? Was that it ended. Every tour bus obviously has a different tour guide but ours was AMAZING. The whole bus was laughing constantly or engaged. One elderly man fell asleep while everyone else was honestly paying attention. Not boring. Not unhelpful. All the information was given to us smoothly and intelligently and with more than a little humor packed in. The culture experience and explanations were great and you get to circle the whole island! The price is hard to beat, too! From snorkeling to snacks and drinks, full entertainment too? We took the tour by Nui tours and we were all very disappointed. First the guy who went buy uncle D was very down on Americans. All he talked about the entire time was how badly Hawaiians were and are being treated. He didn't take us to the shrimp farm which we were told was on the this tour. Instead he takes us to his friends restaurant and referred to it as "we have" this and "we do" that. The place was absolutely discusting and should not be allowed to serve food. He also did not want to take us to turtle beach because he said it was too crowded which is exactly the excuse for not going to the shrimp farm. Instead we went to some hotel resort and sat there for an hour. He told us that if we went on the train at the dole plantation he would leave us yet when we went to get back on the bus on time he made us sit there so he could go find the people from the last bus who did get left behind making us late to get to the coffe place and got locked in because they closed before we could get done shopping. read more

Went to beaches all up and down Oahu, North, South, East and West. North shore was killer. Went to Macadamia nut farm and Dole pineapple plantation. Got literally the best macadamia nut Kona coffee I've ever had in my life. They provided snacks and refreshments. Other tourists bought beer to stock the bus cooler. Would totally give 5 stars, except the bus broke down for about 45 minutes. Smoke everywhere. It was the compressor. No AC for the rest of the trip. People dripping sweat all over.
