Unfortunately, we were surprised by a few unexpected charges. We later realized we were billed for hot water, which was never mentioned by our server. In all our dining experiences, we've never been charged for hot water before, so this was confusing. Additionally, an automatic 18% gratuity was added to the bill without any prior notice. While we understand that some restaurants add gratuity on holidays, clearer communication would have made a big difference. We went in feeling happy and excited, but left feeling a bit disappointed. We went on Friday to this dinner concert to see the Led Zeppelin cover band Led Zepheadz. You have to order a meal which includes a table next to the band. We ordered the taco plate which was the least expensive meal, no BBQ on this dinner menu. The band played on time as scheduled at 7pm sharp. They offer beer on tap and other mixed drinks at an additional cost. The venue was perfect and we really enjoyed the evening listening to some great music. Meanwhile, a party of three was seated next to us after we arrived, and their drink order was taken almost immediately while we continued to be completely ignored. After waiting more than 20 minutes, we got up and left. I understand restaurants get busy, but that clearly wasn't the case. A simple greeting, an update, or even water would have gone a long way. I had been looking forward to trying this place, but I'll be taking my business elsewhere. I ordered Brisket Sliders, Cowboy Meatballs, and an Esquite The Brisket Sliders came out hot and quick, I know it was on the happy hour menu, but just another slice or two of meat would've made me love it. Overall it was good, but not worth the price for the amount of meat you get. The Esquite was okay, nothing really special about it. I wish it came on a cob rather than a bowl. I didn't really taste much of the seasoning on the corn which is unfortunate, it could definitely use more of everything. That being said, the corn was crunchy and not soggy which is a plus. Overall I wouldn't recommend this unless you really want corn for some reason, it's pretty basic. The Cowboy Meatballs were good for a bbq place, if you're sharing between two people I would recommend this. They are a good size with a good amount of sauce and flavor. The garlic knot in between was very good as well. Overall it was a good plate, just on the pricey side for frozen meatballs but you're in old town so that's to be expected, I'd order this again. I was the only one in the entire restaurant when I came so take my note for service and ambiance with a grain of salt. I also ordered not really bbq specialty items, so when I return I will order that and hopefully give a better review/score. Although friendly, I wasn't truly impressed with the service and the food was just ok, so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. One of my friends said the wings weren't that great and he didn't like the greens. But my other friend liked the greens. I can't comment. We had such a fun Saturday night out with friends visiting from out of town! We arrived around 6:30pm to check in for the live dinner show--an Elvis tribute performance that kicked off at 7pm. The show ran from 7 to 9pm, with a short 15-minute break between sets. The performer was fantastic, covering all the classic Elvis hits. We even got up and danced a little--it was hard not to! As for the food, it was just as impressive. Generous portions and everything was absolutely delicious. We shared bites of brisket, baby back ribs, and pulled pork, and couldn't get enough of the sides--especially the cole slaw, potato salad, and cornbread. Our server, Eric, was wonderful--friendly, attentive, and super helpful in walking us through the menu. We also heard there are upcoming shows featuring Fleetwood Mac/Stevie Nicks and an Elton John tribute. We'll definitely be back. It is my first time at Hawg Heaven. I was greeted as soon as I walked in with a smile and hello. It was Friday at 5pm. I wanted to try the 12 hour smoked Beef Brisket. So, I ordered that with sides of BBQ beans and collard greens. The TVs weee on basketball and baseball. It's October so the place is decorated up for Halloween. The Brisket is very tender and pulls apart with the fork. I love the mild Smokey BBQ sauce on them. The BBQ beans were in a similar mild BBQ sauce and were cooked like I like them to still be firm on the out side. The collard greens were great. Cooked how I like them fully cooked but still firm. On a very hot, summer day while in Pasadena, we stumbled onto Hawg Heaven when trying to find a place for lunch. Granted, Pasadena offers many different dining choices, but there was a lot of construction or traffic at so many of those places that this appealed to us because there wasn't any of that. Even though we were the ONLY diners in there (something that would normally concern me, but in the post-Covid days, we were thrilled to have the place to ourselves), it turns out the food was quite good !! My husband ordered a brisket plate, while I ordered their BBQ chicken sandwich. My sandwich came with the BBQ chicken that was smothered in a tangy, but slightly sweet BBQ sauce (how I like it), red onion, tomato, garlic aioli, jack cheese, and I ordered French fries as my side. Everything was delicious. The chicken was tender and flavorful, and the fries were nicely seasoned. My husband loved the brisket and the baked beans. He said it was very tender, and both the beans and brisket had really good flavor. Our waiter, Eric, was very nice and made good recommendations. Hawg Heaven was a real good find... even if we weren't initially looking for it. Oh, there is one thing I would fix. I went into the ladies bathroom and was horrified to see how filthy the bathroom stalls were. They are that shiny metal, and so, all filth shows up really easily. Having been to the Canyon Club and The Coach House and other clubs that do the whole "dinner and a show" thing - Hawg Heaven BBQ was the complete opposite of what these clubs are! We ordered Elvis impersonator tickets and were given the choice of 4 entrees. We paid in advance online. It is not uncommon to have a select menu of a few items to choose from in exchange for having a seat/table near the stage where the performer will be performing - so we were totally okay with not having access to the whole menu, but a smaller one. The show was to begin at 7:00pm and we arrived at 6:30pm. When we presented our tickets, the host told us to wait. As we were waiting, I took a good look around the place. This was not anything like any of the other "dinner and a show" venues we'd been to in the past. It's a restaurant/bar with a weird "stage" set up located behind several pillars. So...if you're not sitting right in the area near the "stage", you're not going to have a view of the stage without getting up and hovering near someone else's table while they're eating. The "host" kept pointing and gesturing at an empty table near the entrance with another person (hostess/server???) I had a sinking feeling that he was trying to seat us there (with no view of the "stage" whatsoever!). Naturally, he then told us to sit there (at the table so far away from the "stage" that there was no chance we could see the performer). I reminded him that we made a reservation and bought tickets for the show and this table would not allow us to see the "stage." He snapped back that I could "see from that table just fine and that he had no other tables near the "stage." When I told him that he probably shouldn't sell tickets for a show, with a limited menu, if he didn't have the seating for the show, he said, "Don't tell me how to do my job!" (while holding my husband back) I told him that this wasn't going to work and that I'd like my money back. He said he would do that. Well...when we got back to his "hosting" stand, he told me that he couldn't refund the money but that the online ticket company would have to do that. Ugh! So...we'll have to deal with that tomorrow. Since I wanted to see this performance, I ignored a lot of the YELP reviews saying that this place wasn't great and I knew the food was going to be pretty bad (You know a BBQ place sucks when there's not even a hint of smoke in the air), but was willing to deal with it to see the performance. So this place is a big "swing and a miss" for me. I will not pass up an opportunity to share my experience with my friends and colleagues so that they can save their money and go see a real show at a place that knows what they heck they're doing!! read more

Took my friend 20 minutes to get a check, the only reason I'm giving one star is they had a pretty funny and cool Elvis impersonator. I was in this place for 30 minutes. We were given water, and never asked if we wanted to order anything else to drink. The women's bathroom needs a lot of work.
