We had been here once before and received 4 star service with excellent food. My only reason for this review is our recent experience on July 3rd. We brought 2 friends with us for a meal. And overall, we did enjoy it. One of our friends said the beans tasted off a bit. I put salsa in mine so I couldn't taste it. Fast forward to 4th of July 250, all 4 of us were sick across 2 households. What a bummer! We aren't sure what happened. We hope to get our money back, we spent almost 200 bucks only to get sick. It wasn't a massive food poisoning where we all threw up. But gastric wise, our holiday was totally ruined. I'd change the rating a bit if the restaurant does something to make it right. read more

First time visiting, came here for a birthday celebration. There's a big parking lot in the back, the restaurant was spacious with nice decor & lots of indoor seating. Great food, big portions, lots of gluten free options, friendly staff, food came out quickly, they have a happy hour M-F from 3-6p. Their homemade chips & salsa was so good, I couldn't stop eating it. We also enjoyed the ceviche, quesadilla grande (happy hour menu), steak picado, steak fajitas, fish taco & carne asada burrito. The happy hour small appetizer platter was only ok, but everything else was delicious. We will definitely return to try more items on the menu. The chips were so nice and warm and crisp. I liked the fish ceviche. I had the seafood salad. It was fresh. The fish was cooked really well. I loved it. The chicken in the chicken chipotle was over cooked so I'm giving a 4 star instead of a five star. The service was prompt and friendly. read more

3.5 Roses are red, salsa is too. I'm craving a margarita or maybe two. My aunt was in town and staying nearby so we came here for dinner. It was Happy Hour, so we sat in the bar area. I'd been here years ago and remember it being average. The décor is festive, and the atmosphere is lively. Our server was friendly, and chips & salsa arrived quickly. The chips were warm and fresh and the salsa was tasty. I ordered a Skinny Margarita and house salad. My aunt got the Patron Margarita, Mini Chimichangas, and Buffalo Wings. The Skinny Margarita hit the spot. My Aunt said her Patron Margarita was good but not as tasty as the night before. (I didn't realize she was here prior.) I enjoyed the salad. The lettuce was cold and crisp. My aunt loved the wings but said the Chimichangas were just ok. For the most part, the food is a hit or miss. Some dishes are better than others and our server forgot about us towards the end. Our drinks were empty for quite some time, and she didn't come back to see if we wanted another. Checked out Margaritas for a Sunday brunch Valentine's weekend from 10am-3pm. We paid around $28 for brunch that included bottomless champagne mimosas. Brunch included soups, made to order omelettes, waffles, soups, enchiladas, shrimp, chili rellenos, rice, beans and different types of meat and desserts! Overall good quality was a solid 4 stars and service was extremely attentive. I noticed that this restaurant also has daily specials, happy hour offers and discounts for DMV customers with proof of receipt. Restrooms are extremely clean and decorated so nicely. I have been coming to this restaurant for many years. I have always enjoyed their delicious food. We came here last week, and I ordered the chicken Colorado OMG ! So delicious ! 7/26/26 Sunday Brunch $29. Was really looking forward to this, and 2 stars is being too generous. No friendly welcome at front set the tone for what was to come. Hostess was emotionless, like a zombie. Told her at beginning we were there for buffet but when she took us to the table with menus in hand, I had to remind her we were there for buffet & didn't need menus. The eye roll from her was not welcome. Food: extremely limited, and a lot of options were empty. Took a long time to get them re-filled. Lady making tortillas and omelettes looked and behaved like she wanted to off herself. Zombie like (see a pattern here?), not friendly or approachable. Because of that, I skipped the omelette and/or tortillas. She kept sitting at a bench in between customers. Cheese enchiladas were fair, chile relleno had no flavor, shrimp in the shrimp/bell pepper dish were far overcooked and tough. Chicken flautas were tough and lacked any seasoning. Desserts....skip them. Odd too because they had salsas in the dessert area. Nothing to see here. I had looked forward to this, but we were so incredibly disappointed we'll never be back. read more

A wonderful traditional family owned Mexican restaurant. It's clean. It's right a friendly unprofessional staff and its own large private parking lot. It's been here for decades. They serve quality food and healthy portions. I hadn't been here forever and a friend took me. It's as I remember but better They've done a bit of a remodel since I was last year which was so long ago I can't remember. They have taco Tuesday and a good happy hour Marguerita Wednesdays. I'll be sure to come back. The weight. Staff was friendly but a little slow. I look forward to coming back next week. This is the type of Mexican food that I grew up with as a kid. The manager, Gabby, helped me book their private room for my mother's 75th birthday. I personally never been here before, but several friends recommended me this place. I was delightfully surprised how much parking spaces there were in their lot, the food was delicious and the room was big enough for all 27 guests and still intimate. My mom was surprised and the party was a great success. The staff was also very accomodating and helpful to us all. At the end of the party, they did not rush us all out of their room. The waitress even helped us take a group photograph. Thank you to everyone at Margarita's for making my mother's birthday a special one and for adding such a wonderful memory for me and my family. The food, overall, was mid-tier. I had a couple of tasty mocktails, though a bit overpriced at $6 each. My Chile Verde burrito was just okay--lacking depth of flavor and could've used more spice. Not the best, not the worst. Worth trying once, but with so many great Mexican spots in LA, I'd probably head to El Arco in Lincoln Heights or make Chile Verde at home next time. read more

Came here on a Sunday with family for their famous Brunch. It has so many delicious choices and yummy flavors. I was immediately impressed with the food and decorations. Upon arriving we waited a bit because the host was busy trying to complete a transaction that was taking toooo long and apparently no other person is available to sit us. We came in with a huge group of 8 and were sat down once they were free of the transaction. Maybe have a person that is ready to sit parties , just saying. Overall, I loved loved loved the food and enjoyed the Menudo and Pozole, the enchiladas and of course the freshly made corn tortillas. The plantains were yummy but disappointed that one has to pay extra for sour cream. I hardly think that this is something one should have to pay extra for and should be included in the buffet. Sour cream should not have to be paid extra and sadly was given a small portion. Is there a sour cream shortage??? Nevertheless, I really love the place and will be back. read more

The wife said she wanted to go here, so you know the rest. However, it was a packed restaurant on this Tuesday and things began to look up. The festivities was bright and the Easter ornaments were already up, so what's there not to like about the place. The food was fairly tame and not really tasting overly exotic or Mexican. I would stay away from anything Taco Tuesday though, as it just makes us spend more for no real reason. My taquitos were rather plain wrap style and not what I'm used to from a Mexican restaurant. This is based on a DoorDash delivery. I cannot comment as to the staff or atmosphere of the facility. I ordered a combination plate of taco and enchilada. The online menu was somewhat misleading. I ordered both items as shredded beef. The menu asked if I wanted to add rice ( which I did). It asked if I wanted chips and salsa (separate fees) which I passed on. Finally, I ordered a cheese quesadilla as I did not want to risk still being hungry when done. The meal arrived and ohhh the food! So even though it asked if I wanted rice, it was really asking if I wanted extra rice. Both rice and beans were included in the combo meal (as it should be). Also included was a bag of chips and salsa. (Good salsa). I basically ended up with two meals worth of food by playing it safe. It all tasted good (but pricey). read more

This is my mom's favorite Mexican restaurant in the Pasadena area, and she wanted to take me out as I am visiting, so off we went. The ambiance is fairly standard for this type of restaurant, and we were sat in the bar/TV with sports on area. The gentleman who waited on us was very polite, and kept our drinks refilled. Other people we had to interact with were just as friendly, so definitely high marks for customer service. The food was good, fairly standard for Mexican/Mexican-American cuisine. I had an oven baked burrito, and I must admit, the shredded beef inside was well-cooked....nor dry at all. My mom enjoyed her giant tostada/taco salad thingies, as well as her margarita. The chips were crispy and warm. I think, overall, you will have an enjoyable experience here if you plan to come for a meal. I am a regular here for a reason. The margaritas at this restaurant are consistently good! Made to perfection. The staff is kind, fast, personable and always accurate. The food is good. Not every dish is exceptional, but certainly good for what you're paying. Pricing is reasonable and definitely competitive. Taco Tuesdays get a bit crowded, but wait times are never long. Parking can be tricky on Taco Tuesday if you arrive after 6-ish PM. The friendly Happy Hour crowd are like the "Cheers" crowd and I absolutely LOVE this about this restaurant. No matter what their rating, this restaurant has tons of regulars for a reason. Seating is ample and the layout is smart. I recommend at least giving it a try or two...or three. read more

I am beginning and ending this review of Margarita's with a plea for the owners to fix their commode plumbing. The bathrooms have signs that imply to should wipe. after number two, and throw the toilet paper into a metal can, next to the toilet. My last Chicken Plate Burrito at Margarita's had no chili, no red pepper, no black pepper, no cumin, no coriander, no spice of any kind. Steamed, hospital-food chicken, beans with no garlic, no black pepper, no cumin, absolutely no spice of any kind. The green sauce had no tomatillo flavor, no green chili, it was just very bland, green-colored "sauce." About a third of the tables were filled at dinner hour on a payday Friday night. Throwing used toilet paper into a metal can instead of flushing it down the toilet is a blatant health code violation. The signs clearly say, "Throw used toilet paper in the metal can provided." This is a good way to spread E. coli and other diseases. read more

My family and I still come here. The food is delicious. Their holiday specials are great. Their private room service was excellent and the food was phenomenal. All our guests enjoyed the food. We devoured it. We had Cadillac pitchers served throughout the luncheon. Most of our guests had never been here. They enjoyed themselves, the food and they were impressed with the service. Staff is friendly and attentive. I wasn't surprised at how much we all had a great time. My siblings and I were happy to have had celebrated my mom's celebration of life here. This establishment has been a staple in the neighborhood for as long as I could remember. Service is attentive if the place is not overly crowded, but it can be a hit or miss when it is packed. Food is good and flavorful and the place is bright and festive. The only issues I have are that when you are there for Taco Tuesday and order their tacos, it is filled with 90% lettuce and a little bit of meat versus what it normally would be on any other day. I understand cost-cutting measures but they might as well get rid of the promo then. Parking is also a nightmare since the lot is small and tight, and so many blind spots when you're trying to get out of the lot and on to the main street. read more

I stopped by Margaritas this past Labor Day Weekend and the experience was even better than what I thought! The Champaigne Brunch is really well priced, and for the amount of food we get it was worth it. You literally have EVERYTHING, from tacos to pozole to carnitas. The selection is pretty great. The decor of the place is really cozy and resembles a traditional mexican house. We were greeted by the staff who directed us to sit wherever we wanted, they asked if we wanted something to drink and they were attentive every minute they saw we finished a platez the only reason why I dont give this a 5 star rating is because I feel like the table situation is too crowded, and all peolle in the booths bother those sitting cause the space to walk over to the buffet is super tight. That and the fact that I didnt see chilaquiles (maybe I missed them?) but other than that, fantastic. Im going back soon. read more

My first time here. The chicken fajitas were average. My friend and I ordered their chicken tortilla soup and their chicken pieces were huge chunks and was unable to even fit on my spoon. The soup had carrots inside it. I love carrots dont get me wrong but I never heard of tortillas soups with carrots. It will also be helpful to have the ingredients listed on their menu. They barely put napkins out on their tables and they should start having different hot sauces on their tables. Everything was bland. I liked the tortilla chips though. I wouldnt go back :( read more

We knew that was our destination when we saw multiple banana trees surrounded by other greenery like plumerias. Nice. The parking lot is small but many cars could park. Entering the restaurant was deceiving how big and accommodating for large parties. We heard from one customer their Sunday Brunch is AMAZING!! There was no wait and we were seated and attended immediately. The usual tortilla chips and salsa for welcoming us. We ordered small margaritas. Cadillac was the best one... try it! My friend got the camarones a La Diabla and I had the Seafood chile relleno - both were plenty and tasteful. Beans were excellent. Service beautiful and quick. Plates hot. Margaritas was packed on a Saturday night. Many large families enjoyed themselves with large drinks and food. A colorful restaurant with many posters on the wall and paper cuts hanging from the ceiling. We called ahead to make reservations for 6 people. They accept reservations for 8 and more. We were lucky and got a table in the bar area. We immediately had beverages with free chips and three different salsas; two of which were spicy. There were several combination orders of beef enchilada, spinach enchilada, shrimp burrito, chipotle chicken and chicken fajita quesadillas. The chicken fajita quesadilla was the largest one I have ever seen. All dishes except the shrimp burrito came with rice and refried beans. The chips and salsas went fast. They brought us another fill up. The food arrived and the plates of food were massive. The food was very tasty. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Good service. It was loud in the bar area. Had we been in the main room it would have been quieter. Tight narrow parking lot belonging to the restaurant. It caused gridlock at times.
