Kaliyanah (I'm sorry I'm sure I'm misspelling her name) took care of us. She had great customer service, greeted and said good bye to every customer with a smile, asked how our day was and brought out food to the table. She also ran the drive through, I could tell she took pride in her work. We got our food fast, the burger w fries and taco salad were tasty. I will visit again next time I'm in town. read more

The food was good- However, their prices are way way too high for what you get. I estimate double over any other restaurant, for example McDonalds. I will not be going back to obtain a small sandwich, small portion of French fries, and a large ice tea for $15. Going through the drive thru they had me circle the restaurant twice, then told to park. After another 5-10 minutes they came out with my small order. Never again. read more

When you try to call in and order they make you sit on hold for 20 minutes and then when the call try to call them back you can't because they still have their When you go to there are boys that are and hollering in me back and when customers come up to say something to the counter person, we are told that there's nothing they can do. read more

We had the basic burger. It was a good size and a good basic burger! Order at the counter which was great! Friendly service. This is an older drive inn type place with pleasant indoor seating and lots of windows. The best part? Fresh serve yourself coffee in real mugs!! Nice job, Hawkins! Hawkin's is great! It used to be a Dairy Queen franchise, but DQ wanted to eliminate some customer favorites. Owner refused so they lost their franchise. However, the food is freshly made (mostly) so don't get upset if it takes a little longer to get your order. Get the Old Fashioned burger as the patty IS freshly made. Bought 4 meals with drinks and during our meal the manager tells us my 5 year old can't eat her happy meal inside the restaurant. Then she plays the victim tells other customers I was being rude to her. We ordered a chicken fried steak plate which came with mashed potatoes or country potatoes (we got mashed), text as toast, and a small salad that was lettuce and cut up tomato. The toast was super buttery and good. The mashed potatoes were homemade and had some red peel in them. Chicken fried steak was a little chewy but had good flavor. The chili cheese dog was not a large hot dog, it was normal size, but had a good amount of chili and the cheese was good cheese. As a combo it came with an unimpressive quantity of fries. Good quality, low quantity. My 9 year old said they were really good. We would definitely try this place again. If we could we would give 3.5 stars, but since that's not an option we have to go with 3. read more

The food is okay. The problem is the service and wait times. Both are horrendous. I was told to pull around and wait for some nachos. They called my number 5 minutes later and then I waited behind a few cars. When I got to the window they asked what my number was and then I overheard her say that she needed to make some nachos. What is happening? At the time of writing I haven't even gotten the food yet. These people are incompetent. I just got the food and two of the boxes were turned upside down. I received the most #Rude and #Distasteful service at Hawkins Restaurant in #Daingerfield TX! I get there and I ordered Nachos Supreme with meat, cheese, tomatoes only; large French fries with Nacho Cheese, large Sprite w/ no ice. I waited 15 min then took the order to the school, meanwhile I tell my husband "I am going back to Hawkins to get me something to eat instead of going home", while I'm driving back to Hawkins, I get a text message from my child (2nd photo), " they put beans on the nachos", so I get to Hawkins and tell the girl who took my order, which was #NOT the girl who fixed the order, that it was beans on the nachos so she tells that same girl who messed up the first order to re-do the nachos minus beans/ lettuce. The girl left the counter, didn't wash her hands and picked up the container bare-handed, walked over to the chips and is grabbing chips without any gloves on, counting the chips to put in the container, an older looking lady comes to the counter and asked "yes, can I help you?" I said "no,she's correcting my order" then she says "no, she's not, we aren't re-fixing those orders, I said " fine give me my refund" she said "we don't give refunds either" then asked" where are the other nachos?" I said "at the school as I told your worker, I will gladly return them when I replace them" she said "no, we don't want them and you're not getting a replacement"....truth be told, I wasn't going to take my child anything after watching them prepare food with dirty hands anyway but the fact that I have eaten crispy chicken salads there, my parents order crispy chicken salads there and my child eats there regularly and this is the type of service they give to #Regular customers?!?!! Didn't offer anything else on the menu, looked at me as if I didn't belong and basically refused any type of customer service! I've reported them to better Business Bureau, DEPARTMENT OF STATE HEALTH SERVICES, OSHA, Retail Food Health and Safety Commission, TEXAS DEPT OF HEALTH FOOD SAFETY!
