    TD Anderson (Tim) came to my house to install gas logs in one fireplace that needed a gas line and…read moreto install a fire glass unit in another fireplace that appeared to have a gas line already (there was a gas key at the base of the fireplace). The installation of the gas line and logs in one fireplace went as expected and turned out fine. However, TD Anderson went ahead and installed the fire glass unit in the other fireplace without checking the gas line. After installing the unit, they realized there was no gas line to that fireplace. They said they'd have to return in a couple days to complete the job and charge about $400 more than the original estimate. I said I understood. They returned and after working for about an hour, Tim said they ran a gas line and then hit a concrete wall under the house near the fireplace, and that they didn't have the equipment to drill a hole to complete the job. Tim said I'd need to call a plumber to finish the job, and for all he knew, it could cost up to $2,000. He offered to take the fire glass unit back out and not charge me for it. I agreed with that solution and calmly stated that I wish they had checked it all out prior to doing the work. Tim then yelled at me, saying that if I didn't know there wasn't gas to the fireplace, how could he know?! He yanked on the key to show his frustration with the lack of a gas line and continued to berate me as he demanded a check for $3,733.79. I asked him to stop yelling at me, and I gave him the check: $2,540.95 for the working gas logs and gas line, $175 for painting the fireplace, and apparently $1,017.84 for a gas line that runs to a concrete wall. If he hadn't been a large man yelling at me, I would've asked for a more precise accounting of the $3,733.79; but at that point, I needed him to get out of my house. As he left, he turned and said he was sorry it turned out that way.

    Our family did business with this company when we built our house. We purchased our fireplace and…read moregarage doors from them. Our experience with them while we were buying big purchases were good but then 1 year later we had a problem with our garage door not opening due to a recent storm with severe lighting. We live right next to my parents house, not even 30 feet away, and they had the same problem. My husband called the company to request a service call and spoke to Lori, who from the beginning was extremely short and rude with him. Lori said that the service charge is $65 and we asked if they were work with us since both the houses (our house and my parents house) were so close together and had the same the problem. Lori rudely said no and my husband requested to speak a manager or supervisor who my have more pull to make such decisions. The Manager, Jim, also said no to this request (even though we just spent at least $5,000 with them personally and my husband had just used them for a job he did and spend $4,000 not even a month prior to this) and said he couldn't work with us at all. My husband said he was disappointed in this decision but we would still keep our appointment for our house to have a service call that morning at 9:30. 5 minutes later Lori (the rude customer service lady from the beginning of this whole fiasco) called my husband and informed him that she cancelling the service call and we would have to call another company to do the repair work. When my husband called and told me all of this, I personally called and when Lori answered the phone I was very nice and asked to speak to Jim, the Manager. She then said who was speaking and I gave her my first name and then she asked if my husband had just called. I said yes and again asked to speak to the manager. Lori informed me the Manger, Jim, was in a meeting. I asked if there was a better time to call back to reach him. She curtly replied NO. I asked if I could have his voicemail or his extension so I could try to reach. She, again curtly, told me she doesn't give his number out and my only option was to leave a message with her. (the rude lady who I am sure was going to deliver my message) While we did have a positive experience with this company when we purchased our items, it seems like when its a smaller matter like a repair their costumer service leaves a lot to be desired. Or it may be that we crossed paths with 2 individual people who were a EMBRASSMENT to this company (Lori and Jim)
