Awesome! BIG dog park with a separate side for smaller dogs. We stopped here on our way up to Canada from Salem, Oregon. We're always looking for nice, safe places to stop and let our dogs out. Sometimes there will be 20+ dogs and other times we will be the only ones here. There is a small dog side and a big dog side separated by a fence. The park on the big dog side is definitely muddy so be prepared for a mess in your car and on your dog(s). I went here with a friend with her Labradoodle. I think this park is moderately equipped. It's more so just a big open field with a few tunnels and other tricks to occupy the dogs time. There are plenty of water stations and doggie doo bag stations. It is separated by the big dogs and the small dogs pen. I will say that in the large dog area there are a few owners (normally the bull dog owners) that choose not to actively watch there dogs. I understand that the dog park is for the dogs to run around and play non aggressively but some dog owners don't know the difference between play and aggressive behavior. I'm not "doggin' " the bull dog owners, and it's not just this breed, but I like to go to the dog park to enjoy my time and enjoy my dog and not feel like I need to fend of dogs that don't know how to play right. Some peoples dogs are totally not meant to play kindly with other dogs but they don't make any attempt to restrain their dog and then get pissy when you kick their dog away. Also there are several owners that don't pick up after dogs and look at you like "what are you gonna say something? I dare you!" Nobody wants to step in that poop, really. In the words of Sweet Brown, "Ain't nobody got time fo dat!" It is off leash but that doesn't mean off-owner-attention. Also, watch your kids in the larger dog pen. With so many dogs running around at one time, it's really easy for "accidents" to happen. Bring a ball or Frisbee or other stimulation for the dog as there isn't a whole lot with the park itself. I will say that it's kinda weird driving into the waste/landfill to get to the park, but once you get there, it's a good time getting your dog to get rid of all their energy. read more

Love this dog park so much for my dogs. The water bowls are not that great but my pups love how much room they have to run. It's a pretty clean park and it's about 2 acres or more. I love that it's in a nice location and I don't have to worry about my dogs getting out. My son loves running around and meeting new dogs. The location is convenient to the shops around and if your dog is picky bring your own dog bowl for water. We have to bring collapsing water bowls for our dogs. It's big! Plenty of dogs, water & toys! I come here often and find the dogs & owners to be well-behaved and sociable. There are large and small dog sections. Inside are 2 water hoses with bowls and 1 hose outside the entrance (presumably to hose dirt off your pup?). The only design flaw is the lack of trees for shade. Young trees were recently planted, so in 10 years we'll have shade! Lol. There are 2 picnic benches for the humans, which is enough, because who comes here to sit down? Most of us remember to pick up our dog poop with the several dog poop bag dispensers. Reportedly, the park gets real muddy during the rainy season, so I'll wait & see if its true. I love that there is lots of space to walk around. And the park has a track so I can walk while my dogs chase after the tennis ball. If you're into it there are two poke gyms and four poke stops--which I love. Unfortunately, the ground is really rough on my dogs feet. I've been there five times and every time I went there I came home and my dogs' feet were torn up. It looked like what happens they walk on too hot of ground. So I made sure to feel the cement the last time before walking my dogs into the park (I could play my hand on it safely warm not hot). Anyway, when I left the park that day my dogs were limping, and their feet were torn pretty badly. I wouldn't recommend unless they fix. I'm so glad there is a dog park in Lacey! I've been going to this dog park since it's opened. Fist on the big dog side with my Border Collie (who has since passed). She loved the open area. I go on the small dog side now because I have to small dogs. I wish the area was bigger and had trees for shade.. My dog loves the dog park. He is very dog social and likes making new friends. I wish the rules were also inside the park so people sitting on the benches could read them. This isn't much of a dog park. It's literally just a plot of land w/a fence around it for dogs to run around in. Every time we've come here there haven't been very many dogs. This is the ONLY off leash dog park in Olympia. Pretty disappointing. If you think you're lost on your first drive here - you're not. It's weird, but you basically drive through the recycling center, landfill area to get to the park. Anyway - so well kept, tons of water stations, grass is nicely cut & there's a small dog or big dog entrance. Love! Even the brick walk up is shaped in a bone, lol. I visited here yesterday with one of my favorite people and three of my favorite dogs. Installation appears to be complete, but the park will be pretty muddy through this first winter. There are separate areas for large & small dogs, each surrounded by a bark walking trail. The trail in the large dog area is over 1/4 mile long. To enter the facility just follow the signs into the old landfill - it's pretty well marked. The park inself is accessed through a nice garden area. There are hose facilities for de-mudding your dog ; ) Good times! read more

I have been there only once but was absolutely de-ee-lighed with the dog park! I must admit that the first time I wasn't able to find it, but once I did I couldn't help but wonder why I hadn't found it the first time. Another delight is meeting other dog owners and chatting. I just wish the dog park was across the street from me...if it were I'd go there daily!! Very first dog park my 5 month old GSD, Remi went to! She loved it! Good parking area, but was hard for me to find. That's probably because of my phone's not so great GPS. Two separate WELL fenced dog areas- big and small dogs. There is a good amount of space for them to run. Water avaliable, but looked a bit mucky. This is an awesome dog park. My dog Scout (shiba inu-shepard mix) loves this park. She is about 27 lbs. (mid size) so we have her on the big dog side and little dog side- both. My pup loves this dog park! I love how the big dogs and small dogs are separated. The view of Mt. Rainier is beautiful. I love the small pathway that is around the small dog area to walk around while your pup plays. I love how there are many garbage cans around the areas and not just one specific one. The landscape is always taken care of. My favorite feature is how the pathway leading up to the gates is shaped like a dog bone with bricks dedicated to certain pets. Love this park! read more

This place is awesome. Our dog loves to run and run it's big and has lots of space. There is a separate area for big and small dogs. The small dog side is nicer it has grass and trees and stuff the big dog side is just a patch of dirt with dead grass and a couple of picnic tables. I'm the coordinator for a dachshund meet up group and we are so excited to have an off-leash park to meet at rather than driving to Ft. Steilacoom each month. The weather hasn't cooperated with us too much yet, but we are looking forward to many fun times here. Okay its a park for our four legged friends, price is FREE! There is an area for small/timid dogs, and one huge side for the bigger dogs. It would be nicer if people picked up the dog poo but I have yet to step in any, knock on wood, there are a few people that walk around and pick up after those who do not which WE THANK YOU. The area for large dogs is a decent size, but it lacks any kind of shrubbery or landscape really... it's basically a giant fenced yard. However there are a lot of dips in the ground that cause mud puddles during the rainy season. There are plenty of stations for water, trash cans and poop bags. Unfortunately, many owners do not pick up after their dogs, so you have to really watch your step. A few people have told me their dog has became sick from the water but mine has not. What makes me upset is that a lot of people do not control their dogs! These people can be holding a conversation or talking on their cellphone, purposely ignoring if their dog drops a land mine or not even intervening when their aggressive dog comes up and tries to pick a fight with my dog. We even witnessed a younger couple egging on their dog for fighting with another one! It's too bad this is the only park in the area. read more

My golden retriever LOVES the Hawk's Prairie Dog Park! There's plenty of room for him to play fetch and socialize with other dogs. There are drinking stations, dog poop bags, and hoses for rinsing off mud. The playground and picnic tables are nice for the dogs' humans, too. ;) read more

This is a great dog park. I really like that it's divided into big and small dogs. There are ramps and obstacles for the dogs to play in/on. I have stopped going here though because some of the others (humans) attending have been rude due to the fact I have a harmless and nothing but kind pitbull. read more

We moved a little more south so we don't go to this park very often anymore, but we did stop by a few days ago and they are definitely doing work to make it look nicer and keep up with the landscaping. I can't wait to see the improvements continue. read more
