    Sunday Roast
    Ronald W.

Solid place for a Sunday Roast. The rump roast is very flavorful and served on a rather large bed of cabbage surprisingly along with fried potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, roasted carrots and a roasted head of garlic. Not as tender as prime rib. My favorite part is pouring the marrow gravy over the roast and adding horseradish. Really delicious. Bar service was good. Automatic 12.5% service charge.

Fancy restaurant for steak!! Surprisingly kid friendly. Service a bit slow but it was very busy!! We had prime rib, chateaubriand, yorkshire puddings, Mac n cheese, chips, bone marrow gravy, peppercorn gravy, Caesar salad. Everything was spot on!!! It was so delicious!!!

Was in London a few days and came here to get Sunday Roast but ended up being tempted by the ribeyes on the menu. I got the regular Ribeye, and my partner got the Longhorn ribeye which was slightly thicker and more fatty. We both liked my ribeye more. If you see in the picture, the steaks come with no dressing/sauce. Our server said they just season with salt and pepper. My partner and I are used to restaurant steaks usually being basted in butter, and sometimes thyme and garlic so this was on the bland side. The desserts were pretty good as well

Before I get into how flavorful my food was and how amazing my drinks were, I have to start off by saying our server "Cos" MADE the evening. Not just for his kindness and hospitable nature, but he went out of his way to make sure we were knowledgeable of what we were ordering, and even checked back to see if we were satisfied with our choices. He had a separate menu that came with pictures of everything on the menu...that's how hospitality is done! The restaurant is very spacious, caters to small/medium to large groups. Tables are spaced decently apart, so you're not on top of one another. Anywho, for our drinks we started off with a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon (the table approved!) I noticed they had a Lychee Martini on the menu, but once I asked Cos about it, he informed me he had something better. I don't think the drink he made was on the menu, but it was delicious. My sister ordered the Hawksmoor Lager and she was satisfied with that as well. We ordered a bunch of appetizers for the table to share...starting with the roasted scallops, the shetland mussels, hawksmoor smoked salmon, and the Devon crab on toast. The scallops and the mussels were a hit! I wish the scallops came with more than 3, my goodness they were seasoned perfectly. The mussels being paired with the bread was such a great touch... For our entrees, a few of us ordered the Monkfish, the Ribeye, and for our sides we ordered the creamed spinach, Mac and cheese, buttered charlotte potatoes, and fries. Out of the sides the buttered potatoes were my favorite. The Mac and cheese were really good, but the potatoes took the cake for me! Towards the end of the night, and us wrapping up dinner, we received a new server, and forgive me because I did not get her name. The best description I can give is that she was tall, really pretty and had curly hair. Anywho, she had noticed we were there for a family gathering, so she was so kind to bring out a dessert that read "happy family reunion" on the plate. Aside from good drinks and a good meal, I felt this visit to Hawksmoor felt like a warm hug. Our service from the beginning to the end of the night was truly a 12/10 experience. Thank you to the Hawksmoor team for adding this special night to my memory bank.

First time in London, jet lagged and hungry. We ended up at Hawksmoor on a Monday afternoon with no rezzies. Thankfully noon on a Monday wasn't too busy and we were immediately seated. Our server Rhys was super friendly. The hubs wanted steak, so we had our go to rib eye, creamed of spinach and their famous "chips". And to confirm, we got the CHIPS and the not the fries. And of course, sticky toffee pudding as the finale. Everything was superb! Meat was perfect, peppercorn sauce was a nice touch. But the chips!! OH THE CHIPS!! The chips were definitely life changing! These chips will be the bar that sets all fries and chips from now on! And now I feel sorry for all other chips and fries. The place is spacious, dark wood, leather chairs, but it does not feel pretentious. This was a great first meal in London!!

Loved this place, super cool vibe and great service and hospitality! The English breakfast served on Saturday only is a Must! Best English breakfast around :) They also have a great bar area! ..afterwards take a stroll around Piccadilly Circus! Great location.

Like many restaurants, some foods are hits or miss. You just got to find the gems and order just those. Get the bone marrow and the sticky toffee pudding if you want what they're really known for. The fries with beef fat and Mac and cheese are solid sides. All in all, if you stick to just those, you'll have a good time. Anything else and it's at your own risk. The ambiance is loud so be prepared to shout.

We had a reservation for lunch, but they're really wasn't that many people and I'm sure you could do a walk in just fine. The Sunday roast was an interesting experience, I didn't even know it was a thing until someone told me about it. I would recommend the standard Sunday roast, especially if you are not super into big chunks of steak. My favorite dish was actually the carrots that were part of the trimmings

If you're looking for a fancier dinner in London before a show, this was a great spot! We shared the mussels and beef carpaccio, both were delicious! They had a tasty variety of cocktails as well. We shared the steak for two, it was cooked perfectly! We also shared the Caesar salad, spinach and British vegetables. Overall, a very tasty dinner!

I'm sorry it's taken me 2 weeks to write this review... We visited on March 26 for Sunday Roast I don't think I can say enough good things about my experience. The hostess was so sweet and welcoming and wished me Happy Birthday. We were shown to our table right away and our waiter was so charming! Everything on our plates was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection! The beef was tender and so flavorful, the roast potatoes are so crispy on the outside but light and fluffy inside. My first time trying Yorkshire pudding was a lovely surprise!! Amazing!! Even the cabbage and carrots were scrumptious!! To top it all off, sticky toffee pudding was the perfect ending! Such a beautiful, relaxing environment - you're able to take your time, enjoy your meal and never feel rushed... Thank you all for making my first trip to London and my birthday such a wonderful experience!!

Made a reservation for dinner about a week out. We were a little early, so we started at the bar in front; Pop fly Mai Tai and Shaky Pete's ginger brew were both great. We then moved to the dining room and ordered: + Bone marrow and onions + Rib eye + Hawksmoor Caesar salad + Triple cooked fries + Spinach, lemon and garlic + Sticky toffee pudding + Salted caramel rolos The highlights were the bone marrow and desserts, but everything was really solid. Will be visiting the location in NYC for sure. 4.5 stars.

Their chocolate chips cookies are HUGE and delicious as well. This was probably one of my favorite markets!

I had…read moreread about this restaurant in some top 10 lists for foodies visiting London and was dying to check it out. First, it's not in the busy part of London where you would expect a restaurant of this caliber to be but rather it is in a very blue-collar neighborhood on the south side of London. It is a VERY cozy place with only seven tables but that is how they keep the quality and experience so great. The decor is as if you are on an old fishing ship. Reservations are highly recommended but we got there right when they opened (7pm) and thankfully they let us have a table. After being seated the hostess showed us the days specials and they ranged from fantastic scallops to lobster with every choice as good as the last. My wife and I chose the Chef's Choice 8 course dinner. The dinner comprised of a delicious sardine sandwich followed by a fillet of night perch which was then followed by lobster that melted in your mouth. Then we had a pallet cleanser of a light peach sorbet with a shot of vodka poured over it. The meal resumed with a grilled piece of pork belly (I got the "meat" choice) while my wife had a grilled hallibut (she got the "fish" choice). The next course was a warmed cheese (I believe it was gruyere) in pastry accompanied by a small mixed green salad with aged balsamic. The dessert courses were a delicious crepe with creme bruille filling and the end course was a pear puree along with a chocolate pudding with a hint of mint. We loved this place even though the name sort of threw us off at first. When you hear "The Lobster Pot" I imagine a bunch of seniors getting off a day-tour bus to a casino at a truck stop or something but this experience was far from what I first imagined. I would highly recommend spending some of your tourist dollars here at this restaurant.

Terrified but glorious goldfish adorning the cabin window walls, really every maritime detail had been thought of, even staff in cabin costumes, it was as cheesy as the lobster Thermidor. So fun. I loved being bibbed up too, I like knowing things are gonna get messy. The Meli, a melee of seafood; half lobster, sea bass, spicy grilled perch, razor clam (touch over done), squid kebab (could've been flavoured more) but all in a sea of buttery champagne and avruga sauce. No tide could hold me back from wanting to lick my plate or use this as a moisturiser, oh my golly so delicious. It came served with enough perfectly cooked veg that my mother would approve of too. Soft butter, less surprise from the proprietor at our arrival and this place would have had a perfect score. Overall our waitress was lovely and the food was really darn good.
