It was my partner's first time trying it, and he was blown away from the very first bite - I honestly think he was in shock at how good it was. 3. It's still as warm, sticky, and sweet as I remember. I love the contrast between the hot pudding and the cold clotted cream. The toffee sauce is divine - I would happily accept a cup of it on the side for extra pouring. 4. Was in London a few days and came here to get Sunday Roast but ended up being tempted by the ribeyes on the menu. I got the regular Ribeye, and my partner got the Longhorn ribeye which was slightly thicker and more fatty. We both liked my ribeye more. If you see in the picture, the steaks come with no dressing/sauce. Our server said they just season with salt and pepper. My partner and I are used to restaurant steaks usually being basted in butter, and sometimes thyme and garlic so this was on the bland side. The desserts were pretty good as well read more

Solid place for a Sunday Roast. The rump roast is very flavorful and served on a rather large bed of cabbage surprisingly along with fried potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, roasted carrots and a roasted head of garlic. Not as tender as prime rib. My favorite part is pouring the marrow gravy over the roast and adding horseradish. Really delicious. Bar service was good. Automatic 12.5% service charge. read more

Hawksmoor has got to be one of my favorite spots thus far! A great place to enjoy the strong cocktails and great food to pair it with. I love the interior design on this place and love the staircase entrance that lifts you up out of the streets and into a calming and rich space. We prefer to sit at the bar here and loved doing so. Absolutely AMAZING! You must eat here. My husband and I had a lovely dinner at the Hawksmoor on our last night in London. We started the meal offer for the Caesar salad the scallops and the crab toast. All were super fresh and I'm cooked to perfection and tasty. I had a sour cherry Negroni and my husband had a dark stout. For our main dishes, we have the.350g filet cooked medium, creamed spinach, triple fried chips, and mushrooms. Everything was an insanely perfect we especially enjoyed the steak cooked to perfection. We ended the meal with the most amazing sticky toffee pudding. Before I get into how flavorful my food was and how amazing my drinks were, I have to start off by saying our server "Cos" MADE the evening. Not just for his kindness and hospitable nature, but he went out of his way to make sure we were knowledgeable of what we were ordering, and even checked back to see if we were satisfied with our choices. He had a separate menu that came with pictures of everything on the menu...that's how hospitality is done! The restaurant is very spacious, caters to small/medium to large groups. Tables are spaced decently apart, so you're not on top of one another. Anywho, for our drinks we started off with a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon (the table approved!) I noticed they had a Lychee Martini on the menu, but once I asked Cos about it, he informed me he had something better. I don't think the drink he made was on the menu, but it was delicious. My sister ordered the Hawksmoor Lager and she was satisfied with that as well. We ordered a bunch of appetizers for the table to share...starting with the roasted scallops, the shetland mussels, hawksmoor smoked salmon, and the Devon crab on toast. The scallops and the mussels were a hit! I wish the scallops came with more than 3, my goodness they were seasoned perfectly. The mussels being paired with the bread was such a great touch... For our entrees, a few of us ordered the Monkfish, the Ribeye, and for our sides we ordered the creamed spinach, Mac and cheese, buttered charlotte potatoes, and fries. Out of the sides the buttered potatoes were my favorite. The Mac and cheese were really good, but the potatoes took the cake for me! Towards the end of the night, and us wrapping up dinner, we received a new server, and forgive me because I did not get her name. The best description I can give is that she was tall, really pretty and had curly hair. Anywho, she had noticed we were there for a family gathering, so she was so kind to bring out a dessert that read "happy family reunion" on the plate. Aside from good drinks and a good meal, I felt this visit to Hawksmoor felt like a warm hug. Our service from the beginning to the end of the night was truly a 12/10 experience. First time in London, jet lagged and hungry. We ended up at Hawksmoor on a Monday afternoon with no rezzies. Thankfully noon on a Monday wasn't too busy and we were immediately seated. Our server Rhys was super friendly. The hubs wanted steak, so we had our go to rib eye, creamed of spinach and their famous "chips". And to confirm, we got the CHIPS and the not the fries. And of course, sticky toffee pudding as the finale. Everything was superb! Meat was perfect, peppercorn sauce was a nice touch. But the chips!! OH THE CHIPS!! The chips were definitely life changing! These chips will be the bar that sets all fries and chips from now on! And now I feel sorry for all other chips and fries. Like many restaurants, some foods are hits or miss. You just got to find the gems and order just those. Get the bone marrow and the sticky toffee pudding if you want what they're really known for. The fries with beef fat and Mac and cheese are solid sides. All in all, if you stick to just those, you'll have a good time. Anything else and it's at your own risk. First time at Hawksmoor to celebrate our Anniversary! Such a great experience and oh my goodness, the food was amazing. I had the steak and lobster and it was tasty and grilled to perfection. The English lettuce and herb salad was delightful, I had no idea how much I would enjoy this and how well the flavors meshed together. The service was spotty and it could be because they appeared to be busy on a weekend night. Definitely packed to capacity as this restaurant did not appear to be intimate by any means. After a week in London with mostly unremarkable and under seasoned food, the Hawksmoor was a nice change from what we had been experiencing. Nice old school Brit deco vibes... dark woods, green fabrics and leathers, dim lighting... a proper steakhouse. The service was mostly good... the kitchen was a bit off on their timing and delivery, but the waiters were excellent. The food was very good...the steaks were properly seasoned and cooked to temperature. The meat itself was excellent... beefy flavors on the sirloin, filet and ribeye... although I would have preferred a thicker cut on the ribeye. I thought I read the steaks were dry aged, but I couldn't detect any signs of aging... perhaps it's just a short aging process. The Yorkshire pudding and gravy was an excellent start, and the chips and creamed spinach were excellent complements to the steak. Finally the toffee pudding... just wonderful as a finish. My husband I recently had a great meal sitting at the bar of Hawksmoor which felt very cozy and quiet. We split an expertly grilled 14 oz ribeye and mashed potatoes which was perfect. My husband's Sour Cherry Negroni was the best he's ever had and my Gruner Veltliner was great. Our waiter was friendly and even offered us a complimentary after dinner drink of Amaro. First time at a Hawksmoor and was not disappointed! We had the Caesar salad and potted beef with Yorkshire puds. These two by themselves can easily be a full lunch! The salad was excellent. Dressing was real Caesar with anchovies sprinkled in it and on the salad itself, though you could ask for them to put the ones on top of the salad on the side. Huge romaine lettuce leaves were uncut and snowed in with parm. Yorkshires were lighter than any popovers I've ever had in the states and the potted beef is like a yummy meaty rillette. Slather with warm onions and voila, instant low carb heaven. We had the porterhouse with gravy and chips for the main. The meat was very good but the potatoes were outstanding. I'm not usually a fries person but man did I luck out ordering the chips this time. They used the first boil then fry method. I swear they used tallow or msg or both. Dipped in the French mustard with horseradish and then marrow gravy had me eating the last of potatoes- usually reserved for DH. I'm sorry it's taken me 2 weeks to write this review... We visited on March 26 for Sunday Roast I don't think I can say enough good things about my experience. The hostess was so sweet and welcoming and wished me Happy Birthday. We were shown to our table right away and our waiter was so charming! Everything on our plates was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection! The beef was tender and so flavorful, the roast potatoes are so crispy on the outside but light and fluffy inside. My first time trying Yorkshire pudding was a lovely surprise!! Amazing!! Even the cabbage and carrots were scrumptious!! To top it all off, sticky toffee pudding was the perfect ending! Super disappointed in this spot. Pretentious, under designed, super loud and spotty service make this a definite, no-go even in spite of decent food. Server couldn't remember who ordered what, forgotten items, delayed items, random upsell, quantity mistakes. Literally expect better service at the cheesecake factory. Steak and monkfish were really nice - eggs were overdone way too many onions on basically everything. Smoked salmon was super boring. Ugh. Then, after the fact, realized they had put a 12.5% "optional" service charge, but just punched in the total with that in anyway. No no and more no. It is probably the worst dining experience I've had in memory. Reading the reviews foreshadowed the woes when it comes to service. The restaurant was half capacity, and they sat us at the worst possible location. We asked to be moved, which changed the tone for the next 45 minutes. Upon sitting at the new table, the waiter seemed to take his time to greet us intentionally. After 15 minutes, he came back to take our drink order. We attempted to put starters in but were told we had to place the entire order at one time. This is the absolute first that I've heard of this. From Mexico to Scandinavia. I've never been told that before. So we waited another 20 minutes to put our order in. Only to be told they were out of the item. The delivery from the server was rude as well. He did an eye roll and basically walked away like we wasted his time. The menu does warn of this, but you think they'd mention this when you sit down. Honestly, nothing else looked good on the dinner menu. So we asked for the check. At this moment, the kind server realized we were picking up what he was putting down. I've gone to restaurants where the service wasn't intentionally bad. I've gone to restaurants where they were overbooked or understaffed. Easily a five star for me! Hawksmoor had been talked up from a relative, so they made sure we visited during a trip to London. While some steak houses do a good job, others just stand above others and Hawksmoor is clearly in the latter category. Reservations are key here as it is always packed, so we mad reso's at least two weeks out and got lucky with a late-night dinner. Upon arrival you check in, drop off your coats with the front desk and make you way upstairs. Staff is great, not overly pushy, but very attentive. Menu is pretty straight forward for a steak house, but the staff will assist if need be. Make sure to not skip their in depth wine list, with a ton of phenomenal wines on the list. We opted for some straight forward menu items, ribeye, tbone, salads, chips, and cocktails. Steaks were absolutely cooked to perfection, so three cheers to them while all other items were tasty as well, so no complaints there. Price point is something to consider as it is a steak and seafood house, which if you have eaten at other high class steak houses, you can expect the same pricing here. Still well worth the splurge though as it has a great vibe with wonderful food! read more

Just had a fantastic meal with the family at Hawksmoor. They had the nice dark wood atmosphere of a lot of steak restaurants, combined with the fantastic service and of course the delicious meats. We were here for the Sunday Roast and it was a good deal of food for a decent price. Our servers were all amazing and attentive. The food was excellent and we all thoroughly enjoyed the experience. My first "proper" meal in London was the Sunday Roast at Hawksmoor. The house was packed as it seemed every table was occupied. But the upbeat staff was a well-oiled machine, keeping things moving steadily while maintaining a professional and friendly atmosphere. Onto the meal... the flavor on the roast was delicious... nicely seasoned. I was looking forward to trying the gravy after reading so many over-the-top comments on it. It was savory and silky, though I found the flavor to be somewhat close to "beef bouillon," when I was expecting to be blown away. I do love that they have a half head of roasted garlic on the plate, which I actually enjoyed so much with the meat. I agree with another reviewer who stated that the Yorkshire pudding was on the dry side. Mind you, that was my first ever Yorkshire pudding, so maybe that's how they're supposed to be? Well I can tell you with great certainty that any hype you've read or heard about the Sticky Toffee Pudding is SPOT-ON. I had the version that was more traditional, and OMG. I told my server it was absolutely one of the best desserts I've had in my life. What a glorious combination of salty, buttery, sweetness in the toffee sauce. yes ok, i get the hype! i mean is it some brand new steak experience? no. but it is very solid and very delicious? absolutely. we did make a sunday reservation, but we did it for dinner, so we missed out on the sunday roast (seems they have on menu on sundays until they sell out, which is usually mid-day or so). we got the yorkshire and potted bacon to start, and that was nice, i wish they gave more yokshire pudding actually! and the gravy -- i wanted to drink the gravy that came with the dish and drizzle it over everything! the steaks were cooked perfectly. but the biggest surprise were how good the sides were! the triple cooked chips were pale but actually so flavorful and crispy -- soft on the inside. the greens were so well seasoned! the sticky toffee pudding was, as promised, incredible. i really enjoyed the quenelle of clotted cream on top, that gave such a smooth creamy finish to the fish. the restaurant is quite large in this location and tables were spaced nicely. the dark, broody atmosphere is the perfect ambience for a stately steakhouse. service was great and we were never left wanting. read more

Very much enjoyed my experience at Hawksmoor. We started with the scallops, and each had a fillet along with shared sides of creamed spinach and the mushrooms. Then, we finished with the sticky toffee pudding and apple mille-feuille. The meal was superb. My only critique is that they mixed up the steaks, as we each had them cooked to a different temperature. We were all so hungry, we hardly noticed until half way through the meal. Not a deal breaker. Obviously everything was so delicious we didn't make a deal about it and all agreed they were still some of the best steaks we've had. It was also difficult to track down our server at times to reorder wine. Otherwise, an overall great experience. I will be back when I visit London again. read more
