Here's the thing: this hotel rocks! Yes, it is fairly old and run down, especially in the hallways. There might be scuffs on your chair, dings in the walls, or scratches on the door... It's not perfectly kept up, and that's why I don't give it a full 5 stars...but regardless, this place left an impression on me. Right when I showed up to check in, the girl at the counter was so friendly. She made great conversation and was very sweet--even gave me a little gift bag with snacks to say thanks for being a Wyndham member! So cool! A couple days later when I was checking out, she remembered me and the conversation we had earlier. I was very impressed. Everyone on the staff was awesome and so helpful! Another big reason I loved this hotel is that they serve a complimentary dinner! When I was there they had soup, salad, rice, rolls, and dessert bars! I've never been to a hotel that has free dinner, so that was awesome! The breakfast was also great, with a ton of options to make anyone happy! Perhaps one of the best things about staying here was that I only paid $69 per night for such a good time! My room was big, it had a kitchen, the bed was really comfy, and the water pressure in the shower was great. I paid the price of a cheap motel but had a much better experience! I will absolutely stay here again if I'm in the area. read more

If I could give this place no stars I would. My husband and I had a terrible experience at this place. We were woke up in the middle of the night with a couple cursing one another out for at least an hour. The next day when they woke up it continued. The hotel smelled of smoke, when there was suppose to be designated areas. The rooms were very old, musty smelling, dirty, stains on the carpet and chair. It's called a suite, but it's actually small with a queen size bed a fridge, Microwave, very small dishwasher, and a couple cabinets. The hallways looked as if they had never been cleaned. The lady at the desk was very apologetic about the people arguing and said many had complained about them and they took care of the problem, which was appreciated. I could not handle the dirtiness of the place. My husband and I had arrived late Sunday and was tired from driving from Texas and just needed a bed. We checked out and went to a much better place. I advice DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE. I feel as if I can't get the dirtiness off me. read more

I can't even praise this place enough it's a nice place to stay and comes with very nice kitchen equipment, so that's deserving of at least 3 starts in itself. The main reason it was such a 5 star experience is the front desk worker Owen literally saved my life and payed for my bus pass when I was desperately trying to get to the doctor. Never met someone more deserving of a raise. Literally restored my faith in humanity that he would do something like that out of the kindness of his heart. Wow! I was consistently shocked at how amazing this place is for the price! I just stayed at the Marriott for a few days for business and got snowed in so I thought I would "scale down." I arrived expecting a budget hotel, but what I got was a cute, clean room with a nice, homie layout, friendly funny staff, and FREE laundry downstairs. Well, let me tell you, and this leg of the trip I really needed it! I almost wish I stayed here the whole time. Liked it so much I'm starting a review board on Yelp! The Staff at this hotel is absolutely wonderful!!! I had to find a place to stay for me and my kitties on short notice, mold in the house! The staff has been so flexible with my needs and MORE than patient! Room has a sink, counter and a full-sized fridge with an ice maker. There is a reception Tuesday - Thursday, which is basically a nice dinner, soup one night, sloppy joes last night. Not to mention breakfast each morning, with a wonderful host who just puts a smile on your face. The room was very clean, I haven't heard any noise from the other rooms. I am going to recommend this place for all my friends who come into town. This is a real review and I recommend you stay here. read more

For the price the hotel is not too bad. It does look a bit outdated ,but our room was clean and for the most part pretty nice. The only complaint that I have is that in the 5 days that we stayed in our room we did not have the maid service clean our room once. We even made sure that the "do not disturb" sign was off of the door. I don't know if this hotel was just understaffed or if it is policy to not clean the rooms on a daily basis ,but regardless our room was never cleaned. Infested with bedbugs... Need I say more? This is disgusting!!!! Been staying here for a week on business , woke up every morning with bumps on me,.. Found a bug and squished it and blood squirted out. Looked up online and confirmed little holes in sheets and tiny blood stains from past people. Disgusting... Just stared process of recourse... I was somewhat skeptical to book the rooms when I read some of the reviews, but I am glad that I went with my gut and decided to go ahead with our reservation. We stayed 5 nights. The room was clean and neat. The reclining chair was a little dated but served its purpose. The gentleman that took care of the breakfast each morning was very friendly and helpful. The food was very good. They switched up the breakfast daily from sausage and gravy, to bacon, eggs and waffles. The three nights they offered dinner were very good too. It was nice having options at no extra cost. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We were on the first floor at the end of the hall near the exit. We could not have asked for a better spot. It was so nice and quiet. Very convenient since our car was parked right outside the side exit. I would definitely recommend this location. We could not beat the amenities for the 60 dollars a night. We will definitely stay here in the future when we come back. read more

The hotel is very dated but the rooms are clean. I walked into a hot room where I discovered that the ac was pumping out warm air. Nothing I did could change that so I picked up the phone to call the front desk and it was dead. Went down and the employee came back up to the room. He couldn't get cold air and moved me to another room. He knocked on the door, telling me that he wanted to make sure that there were no "Squatters, in the room." I found that a little disturbing. The room was cold and I stayed. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable but the furniture was very old and worn-out. Very small tv. One evening I encountered a couple and two children pulling a luggage cart loaded with groceries down the hallway. Some of the hot breakfasts appeared questionable so I stuck to eating cereal, yogurt, and toast. One evening they had burgers during the reception. I ate one and later that night I had horrible cramps and the runs. I did not eat at any other reception. The staff was very friendly but overall the place felt shady. I won't be back. read more

My husband and I just stayed at this hotel - the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I booked through Southwest, it's a Wyndham...it was so horrible I took a few photos. They were only a snapshot of just how bad the hotel was. Bleach spills in the hallways, holes in the walls, a hole in my bathroom door, fake leather chair with leather gone on the arms, bathroom was filthy, the chest with the TV looked like it was dragged behind a car and more, we refuse to brave the free breakfast! read more

Take your travel dollars elsewhere! One star is one to many by a long shot. I booked a room at this hotel on southwesthotels.com for a business trip from August 7th to Friday the 11th. On arrival was greeted by a sign on the front desk that said they would be back in 15 minutes. That turned out to be only the smallest of the problems. As you walk into the lobby they have a coffee and ice water station that I normally my not have noticed but while I waited the 10 plus minutes for someone to return to work to check me in I was standing in spilled coffee on a sticky floor. They took my credit card info and on my way to the room. The room was ok as far as the carpet and tile. The bedding was also fine. The rest of the furniture was completely worn out and showed years or ware. The next morning I have to check out as my work involved in-stalling a machine that ended up being damaged in transportation beyond operation. The front desk tells me I won't be get a receipt as I booked online. I'll need to wait for an updated receipt from southwest within 48 hours. This never comes. This is where it goes completely south. I call southwest looking for the receipt and they tell me I'm still checked in. So I call the hotel. The hotel tells me no Brian Simons checked in. After a back and forth she says they must of type-ode the name. So they checked out a different name. I then ask southwest to call her ( Ellie ) back to verify the early checkout. They ( Southwest Hotels ) then asks for prof of air travel change which I give and also rental car termination , and payment of parking at Santa Ana John Wayne airport. After all this they still tell me I stayed all week and refuse a refund of the unused 3 nights of accommodations. Bottom line Hawthorn Suites By Wyndham Co. is a miss managed rip off. I would highly recommend you take your business travel dollars elsewhere. They don't deserve your respect or anyone else's. I'm sure they are simply waiting for their next opportunity to rip off the next guy to make the mistake of booking with them. I for sure will not be that guy. Update when I finally got my credit card statement I was double billed. Once from the web site ( southwesthotels.com 433.00 and then 320.00 from the hotel) took no less then six phone calls to get the hotel to credit the second charge. Bought a Groupon for a 3 night stay for a trip to Denver with my mom. Hotel was clean, staff was friendly and quiet. I mostly saw families, nobody sketchy. Hotel was located secluded but still close enough to stores, restaurants and gas stations with a very short drive. The hotel offered a complimentary breakfast, though hours were super early we did get to try the food one morning during our stay. Hotel also offered free parking which was well lit and safe. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others and have actually looked into this hotel chain first when planning trips! read more

I cant say enough good things about this place Jeremey and his staff are top notch. Very friendly and helpful and professional. Breakfast is served daily by rodney during the week who is super nice and very acomodating while Yolanda greets you with a smile for dinner 3 nights a week and weekend breakfast. Its clean quiet and well located as well as pet friendly which makes my dog happy to. You wont find a better deal in town. read more

We arrived at the hotel later in the evening (around 7 PM) on a weeknight to check in; there was nobody at the Front Desk to help us for at least 5 minutes (this is a reoccurring theme at this hotel; I only saw someone at the front desk twice during our stay there). Once we got our room keys, we headed up and unpacked; the room seemed nice and clean enough, and the rest of the night went smoothly. We began to notice some strangeness, however, beginning the next morning when we headed down to take advantage of the included Continental breakfast. The food was fine, but there was an employee there who kept looking over our shoulders and stared at us the entire time we were getting our food; we felt very uncomfortable. This employee was present each day at breakfast, and acted in the same manner each morning. He even refused to let me make my own waffle in the provided iron (I have done this probably a hundred times over the past few years while travelling for business). On our first full day in Denver, we left the hotel relatively late in the AM, did our sight-seeing, and came back to some minimal housekeeping; we had been provided a couple of clean towels, but the bed remained unmade and nothing else had been touched. It didn't seem like a big deal at the time; little did we know that this would be the final trip housekeeping would make to our room for the rest of our 4 night stay. By the last full day in our room, we were out of toilet paper and paper towels, had 2 overflowing garbage cans, and still hadn't seen housekeeping in our room (despite removing the 'Do Not Disturb' sign from the door each morning when we left, and being gone most of the day on both Days 2 and 3 of our trip). We called the front desk to let them know that we needed more toilet paper, and that housekeeping hadn't been to our room since our first day there. Fortunately, someone answered; unfortunately, they didn't even seem surprised by what I said, didn't apologize, but offered to send someone up with the requested TP roll. It took them at least 20 minutes to bring it up; I'm glad that I wasn't having an emergency at the time! After making the call to the front desk, I placed our full trash cans outside the room so that they could be taken care of; I heard the bellhop sigh and complain out loud when he saw them out there while delivering the TP (whether he was frustrated by our actions, or the inaction of housekeeping, is not clear). In a final act of annoyance, the fridge leaked water all over our food the whole time we were there, and paneling in the kitchen fell off the cabinets as we sat in bed watching TV and trying to fall asleep. When I inspected the offending panel, I could see that the construction was slip-shod and it had been attached by only a single staple. The bed was pretty comfortable, the air worked, but the service left much to be desired. We won't be staying at this hotel on our next visit. read more

Pretty disappointed in Wyndham. When you book a hotel by them you expect a lot better building than what the Hawthorne was. The front desk wreaks of musty cigarets, all the doors in the hall banged up and scratched, the hallways have a musty smell as well and the rooms are just ok. Their signs say on a daily basis they will come in, make the bed and toss the trash. However, that doesn't seem to happen on the weekends. They have a small kitchen for you to use with plates and utensils. However, they keep dirty dishes in the cupboards for your use. The hotel itself is located in an area that's pretty shady. You will see homeless people not to far hanging out at a street that doesn't go anywhere. Also I am pretty sure people are not supposed to smoke weed in their rooms but I don't think that is the case either because you can smell it in the halls. Wyndham should think about disassociating themselves from this establishment. read more
