The Technicians who come out to our home always listen to our concerns and do all they can to go above and beyond for us. They have a personal interest in making our life better. Do not show up for appointment or communicate missed appointment. They seem surprised when I finally get ahold of office to ask for them to reschedule my routine pest service for no-show.. Do not return text messages. Do not automatically knock down spider webs on windows or treat for spiders where spider webs are identified -- you have to point it out to the pest rep. They schedule service on known rain days almost like they will have an excuse for not showing up. I am. not impressed with the pest service or pest treatments from Hawx Pest Control. The sales rep assured me there was a dedicated pest rep who would be servicing my home which turns out to be false. . Poor. Scam Artists. Please do yourself a favor and don't allow these fraudulent pests into your life. A young kid came to my door and I agreed to a one-time spray. They kept trying to talk me into a monthly fee and I was very clear in saying, "THERE IS NO WAY I WOULD SIGN UP FOR A MONTHLY RECURRING SERVICE/FEE. Give me a one-time spray, that's all I am interested in." So he agrees and sends me the contract. Then texts me that there was a mistake with the contract and that he needs to send me an updated one. I sign, and they do the spray. I need to call them to re-spray because honestly it didn't work and we were still getting ripped up by mosquitos. But that isn't the worst part. A month later someone comes and sprays without my consent and a $79.00 charge shows up in my account. I call to tell them that I want them to cancel my account and delete my information because I am getting charged for services I didn't request. They tell me that the contract I signed was for a monthly service at $79.00 a month for an entire year and if I want to cancel it I need to pay $200. I ask to speak with their managers, and they assure me that their manager will say the same thing. I texted the kid who sold me and asked how this happened, he blocked my number after the first text. We signed up for mosquito control and was told that we would have service thru September and I asked several times that we would be done with the service and was told yes. Fleas, flys, bees and now cockroaches have increased since spending my money with Hawx, and because THEY decided to set up the account in my husbands name and not mine, they won't let me cancel even though I am the only one they've ever spoken to. This company is a scam. Their staff will tell you that you have a trial period to see if the product works and lock you into a contract prior to being able to cancel. I had to call for 6 warranty calls and the techs would not spray anywhere other than entry ways(doors, windows). I needed my bathrooms sprayed, my garage walls etc.. but they persisted every time with only doing acute areas. This is a service we pay for and should get what we want. I was so displeased I terminated and paid the contract fee to terminate. Please reach out to me if you want a reliable and actually effective pest control company as my current vendor is honest and reliable. They have continued to charge our credit card despite speaking to them multiple times on the phone and in person to cancel. They refuse to cancel and kept sending "technicians" out when we were not home and then attempted to charge the card on which we blocked them. Over the phone, they told us that there was an email that we had to "opt-out" of the service. We received no such email, yet another lie. Their "opt-out" option is actually against Indiana Common Law in that it is a contract modification and assent from both parties is required. We have CONTINUOUSLY REVOKED CONSENT from their services. Read: ILLEGAL PRACTICES. Now they are threatening to send an "outstanding bill" to collections. It's laughable that this "company" is able to charge false bills and then ruin somebody's credit, not the mention the constant harassment via phone, mail, and in person. We have been customers for over a year now, in that time frame they have only came out 2 times, the second time was over 4 months late, after calling and talking to multiple different people. Since September 2023, Hawx Pest Control has not come out to our house. Mind you, we do have cameras all outside the home. They have continued to charge me since a year, and no one has come put. I have called and told them several times, and each time I call they say they have no record of me calling except for last September 2023. my phone records say otherwise. I was very happy that HAWX came back several extra times during the initial treatment, because we hadn't seen big results at first. I was rarely able to be present when a service person came out to treat my lawn after the first months. However, Hawx was great about letting me know when service was planned and what was done. They started calling us non-stop for a few months. we never even had a consultation. after months of telling them we're not interested they finally stopped calling, but now out of the blue, we have started receiving a notice that our account is severely delinquent. *avoid this service* Last year, I signed up for mosquito service from Hawx which came with a minimum number of treatments. While last year was fine I had not consumed the minimum number of treatments. The 1st time they were able to make it to our place this year was 5/20/20 despite multiple calls begging them to come sooner. The next treatment is scheduled for 7/28/20. This is NOT an effective way to control mosquitos. I tried to called several times and was on hold for 20mins and finally gave up. I finally called ( waiting on hold) to cancel the service and spoke to the manager. He suggested trying to get someone out sooner.. I guess he expected me to call in and beg every time I thought I needed service. He told me I needed to finish my last two treatments or pay a $250 cancelation fee. I was a customer for 4 years (2018) until today 7/28/2022. Almost every time they sprayed, I called them to spray again because they couldn't get rid of the spiders. I tried to cancel in that first year but the cancellation fees were too high & I gave them a pass because they said they used organic products. The last time they sprayed, the gentleman told me honestly there's nothing they can do for spiders. I paid the $100/quarterly fee faithfully. I called on 7/14 or 7/15 to cancel because their product was ineffective for my needs. The person I spoke to never processed my account. A rep showed up & I had to turn him away. He said that was his 2nd such issue for the day with dispatch not letting him know. I apologized to him & he left. Today I noticed a $49.99 charge on my account that I was billed for on 7/14. I called and they told me my account was not cancelled. Karen in billing then told me I was sent notification that they would start charging a monthly fee of $49.99 & I was supposed to opt out by June 28th. She said they can't reimburse me as a result. 4 years of dealing with a subpar product. 4 years of dealing with hit or miss customer service. I called to have service started up in April due to I saw a mouse in my garage. Take in mind, I had Hawks perviously back in 2023 when they was coming door to door to set up their clientele. So I figure why no go with the company I've used before WHAT A MISTAKE. When the tech came out in April he set up traps and that was it. So when I asked about retreatment or follow up he said they will in 30 days or if I call. Ok, so 30 days they called to come back out for follow up, but problem is they didn't come. So I called to set up something again nothing. So by this time we are into June, so when someone called about billing I even expressed why no one been out and they even apologized and said they will schedule me. Again nothing, by this time I'm over it so I talked to a rep to cancel since I haven't had no service since APRIL just term the services. Rep said ok he will make note of why I was terming and send a final bill, I said that is fine. Again, nothing!!! Just to get a bill a few days ago saying I owe now 310.00 from May to October services (now I'm furious), your billing me for services not rendered SERIOUSLY, so I talked to the account manager Alex, just for him to tell me he can knock off 100.00 of my bill if I choose to keep their services, I had to express to him, their services are so subpar just cancel it yet again.. this time only to be told not only I owe 310.00 for services that i didn't get but to be now charged a 199.00 cancelation fee. I would consider going elsewhere for your pest control services. We were paying Hawx monthly for a quarterly service. They completely missed our quarterly service, which we pay monthly for. I caught this after 2 months of them missing us. They would only reimbursement me for one month of service, but should have been 2 months. Hawx pest control is not worth it. I have been paying it over than 7 months and I'm trying to cancel avoiding the large fees. The reasons why I want to Cancel Their service are: 1. The salesman lied that I will have a mosquito treatment, they can come treat it as many times as I need, they treating the trash bins. 2. I live in Hollywood Florida and have a lot of mosquitoes. I have 3 children and they can't come outside without being bitten by mosquitoes at least 20 times each. That was the main reason why I agreed to sign the contract and it turned out they lied to me and this treatment is not included in my 50$ monthly payment which is quarterly regular treatment against ants roaches and fly. 3. They sending me emails about a scheduled appointments but not coming for services until I text or call them. They don't give me time for the appointment they just randomly calling at 8 am and telling me they are on their way and when I'm not home they saying oh it's ok I need to treat only outside any ways, without even asking me if I need a treatment on the inside of my home. 4. I had a fly infestation in my home and I tried to get this people to come for a week, they would say they are coming but they didn't. I don't have the money to pay this cancellation. They did treat ants which got better over the time but I rather to buy boric acid for 11$ and make an ant bate out of the sugar syrop myself than pay 600$ over the year contract without benefiting from their services. I spoke to Christian yesterday, 8 May, who gave a very convincing pitch for pest control. However, he never once verbalized ANY commitment to a 12 month contract, the total amount that would be owed, or anything of that nature. He repeated stated it's only $50 (veteran price which I loved) and said that was it. Anytime I paused for consideration he very quickly put out it was a limited time deal, his truck would only be around short notice, etc. I felt his business practices were very deceptive, misleading, and sought to quickly take advantage of the customer. I wish I had read all these reviews before I was talked into a service agreement with this company. This is a horrible business. Here is my experience with them: I had a one-year service agreement with them from June 21, 2023, paying a monthly fee of $55. When I found out the services are not effective and their customer service is terrible, I decided to terminate the service agreement once my one-year agreement ends. Based on the agreeemnt, at one month before the ending date, I sent Hawx an email to the email address listed on the agreement on May 21st, 2024 stating that I don't want to renew the service agreeent. At the time my account balance was zero. The next day one account manager called me and I clearly told him that I don't want any service nor any charge. He insisted to schedule a warranty service for me on May 30th. I told him that I would not be home and I would not pay anything if he sent someone over. Apparently someone did come to provide a warranty service. Not long after, I was texted and called by Hawx telling me that I have a $55 balance. I answered the call and explained why I should not be charged, but I was hanged off or the call was cut off. Then I started to receive calls from Hawx every day, even multiple calls a day. On July 3rd, I talked with an account manager and explained all these again to her, she agreed to close my account, which should be closed on May 21st; and she hung up the phone on me. But I was still called by Hawx every day, multiple times a day. I answered a call one more time, and I was cut off again when I explained the situation to him. Now I'm still called every day, multiple times a day. What kind of business is that! It's so hard, if it's ever possible, to get someone to answer the phone when I tried to reach someone to re-schedule service time. And now when they want to chase me for payment, they call me all the time. And when I answer the call, they cut me off - my understanding is that, they only want to get me to pay; they don't want to listen to me at all. Deceitful business practices. They want you to sign a contract for service that required you to pay them for future services. Do not sign the contract. They provide good pest remediation, but their billing and contract practices are deceitful. They probably make more money on their cancelation fee than they do on actual pest remediation. I called the local Hawx pest control office to request cancellation of my services due to the technicians coming to my homed three different times to try to get rid of the little brown/black ants that are entering my house by the back door. Their treatment hasn't worked and the last guy that came out said "ants are bad this year". And..... yea...that is why I called Hawx - the ants are bad this year. Anyway, I was told I had to speak with the billing dept. and was put on hold. After 30 minutes the phone was disconnected. I called back again, and was on hold for another 30 minutes then disconnected. I again called the local office and was told to press 1 and someone would call me back within 48 hours. I contacted Hawx via chat. I was told I would need to call the 1-800 number. Put on hold again. This is definitely not good customer service. I realize they have a shortage of workers as does everyone else, but with today's technology they should allow you to cancel service over the internet, via email, or by the local office person who answers the phone.
