I would strongly caution anyone considering Hawx to pay very close attention to their billing practices and keep everything in writing. In my case, the last service shown in their portal was in April. After my card stopped processing, Hawx stopped coming out, which I completely understand. What I do not accept is continuing to bill me for months afterward while no service was being performed. I disputed the May, June, July, and August charges in writing and repeatedly asked Hawx to either provide records showing what service was performed or identify the contractual basis for continuing to bill while service had stopped. They did neither. Instead, I received repeated canned responses telling me that the matter "cannot be addressed via email" and that I had to call. That was especially frustrating because I specifically wanted the dispute documented in writing. I gave Hawx multiple opportunities to address the actual issue. They chose not to. My concern is not simply that I disagreed with a bill. My concern is that when presented with a clear, specific billing dispute, Hawx would not substantively address it in writing and instead repeatedly redirected me to a phone call. I have disputed the balance, revoked authorization for them to charge the payment method on file for the disputed amount, and documented the matter accordingly. I made the mistake of contacting Hawx Pest Control for a new rodent problem, and my experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. When I called, the representative described a service that sounded comprehensive. I was told the initial visit would include a full home inspection, bait boxes for the rodent issue, and treatment for crickets and other common household pests. I was also specifically told that if I decided not to continue with the recurring service after the technician's visit, I would have a cancellation window and could opt out without issue. My appointment was scheduled for between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. The technicians didn't arrive until approximately 2:30 p.m., and no one called or provided any updates about the delay. When they finally arrived, they appeared to have no knowledge that I had called about a rodent problem. They seemed prepared only to perform an exterior pest treatment. I had to explain that the entire reason I contacted Hawx was because I had mice. The technician then came inside and placed a few inexpensive sticky traps--without any bait--in random areas of my home. These were the same type of traps I could have purchased myself for about a dollar at a discount store. There was no inspection, no bait boxes, and no meaningful effort to address the issue I had called about. After this poor experience, I contacted Hawx's corporate office and spoke with Kaylan. She was initially very understanding and confirmed that I was still within the cancellation window. She encouraged me to give the company an opportunity to make things right by issuing credits and arranging for technicians to return and provide the services I had originally been promised. When she was unable to get in touch with the local office, she assured me that everything had been canceled and a refund would be received in 7-10 business days. Then, on July 14 at approximately 5:15 p.m., Kaylan called me back and said she had spoken with her supervisor, who informed her that she could not honor what she had previously promised. Instead, I was told I would have to pay a $199 cancellation fee. I was charged $199 without being able to speak with anyone further and original services were still not rendered. I have no problem with a company enforcing its contract when it actually delivers the services it promised. However, I did not receive the service I purchased. I contacted Hawx because I genuinely needed help with a rodent problem, and the technicians failed to provide the inspection and treatment I was promised. I spent hours waiting for a late appointment, received inadequate service, and then was charged a cancellation fee after being told my cancellation had already been processed. When I asked to speak with a manager because I was receiving different answers every time I called, I was told I could not be transferred to anyone else. I was informed there was nothing further they could do, the call was ended abruptly, and I was ultimately charged despite never receiving the proper service. My experience with Hawx Pest Control was frustrating, misleading, and a complete waste of my time and money. My advice: Do not use Hawx Pest Control. The services they promise over the phone were not the services I received, and my experience with both customer service and the cancellation process was unacceptable. I didn't answer the door for the first 10 minutes but he continued to knock, so I went outside to politely tell him to leave. When I told him I did not want him in my backyard, he seemed confused and wanted to know why! I mean, I don't want people I don't know in my back yard! I'm not exactly sure what all they consider "landscaping areas" but if I'm to go by the pictures they sent there were only two areas around my home that were potentially done all in the back of my home. Nothing out front and I can tell because I still get the random ant running across my bed at least once a week. I did request that they treat the area around my pool because there are so many ants but I don't see that there was anything done. It'll take a couple of days for me to see if that area was treated due to a very big thunderstorm we had last night that drove the ants to cover. I can however say that I haven't had a single ant in my kitchen so far this year. The spiders are invading in ridiculous numbers so I've been spraying the inside of my home with some pest repellant I have. Honestly, I'm underwhelmed with my service. I know that there's no completely "bug free" home, but I can't say that what they're doing works longer, but for a day or so. every one on the staff that I've communicated with seem very nice and just lovely. Sales person Spiro completely lied about the services to be included. Said all termite treatment would be included but when the tech showed up for initial treatment he let me know none were included. I ended up cancelling the entire service. I see many other reviews of shady sales tactics by the sales people. It seems to be a serious problem with this company and makes them generally untrustworthy. I will also mention I scheduled my treatment for Monday. Thursday I get a text that they are in-route which I informed them my appointment was Monday.
