I live in an old historical part of Baltimore and came home to the lovely surprise of a thick swarm of flying ant-like insects all over the property. They were congregating around the old wood piles, so I was certain they were eating it and called up in a panic. (I had never dealt with a pest issue before and I was terrified at the thought of something possibly eating my recent purchase). So I called and he asked me to text him a few pictures. Turns out it was just citronella ants. (Generally harmless and definitely don't eat wood.) He could have easily taken me for a ride in my naivety, but he didn't. Orkin had replaced the insulation and treated this space less than 6 years ago. The cost quoted was astronomical and when I questioned it, he immediately cut the cost in half. I am very suspicious that he was trying to sell me something I didn't need. I am seriously considering finding a new pest control company.

Chance came and took care of the problem and assured me that the nest of "yellow jackets" who somehow had made their way into the wall would be eliminated. He explained that the type of chemical used would kill the adults but not the larvae. He is coming back in 2-3 weeks to continue treatment. If the residual pest control chemical doesn't kill the newly hatched "yellow jackets" the second chemical treatment will be applied.
