Their fried chicken sandwich is perfectly crispy, decently sized (I always food coma afterwards), is quick to arrive after ordering, and comes with a bag of Hawaiian kettle chips. Eat On Monday started doing pop up dinner options. This past wknd, we saw that they were doing Garlic Shrimp Hawaiian style and a Curry Tonkatsu plate as well as offering up roscoes ice cream tacos. We got 4 Garlic Shrimp orders and 1 Curry Tonkatsu and 4 ice cream tacos to try. The Curry Tonkatsu was bomb. The Japanese influence Curry was good with the rice and a perfect pairing to the crispy tonkatsu cutlet. I wished I had ordered more servings of this over the Garlic shrimp. The Garlic Shrimp was good but a tad too dry. We needed a garlic sauce to compliment the garlic rice. There was a bit too much raw chopped garlic mixed vs sautéed chopped garlic. Hopefully they make the adjustment. Kids loved the roscoes ice cream tacos for $5 each. We wanted more of the Youngsters (cookies and cream) but it only allowed us to order 1 as it was probably the last one in stock. If you aren't sure what to have for dinner, this was an option for Fri/Sat for us. I think they offer it up via doordash etc as well. This is the continuation of the beloved restaurant in downtown Palo Alto, which closed in spring…read more2024. Besides catering, they do takeout and delivery. It's located in one of those shared-kitchen facilities, in an industrial park in the north part of Santa Clara. Unlike some of the other tenants, you don't get your food from Jing Jing out of a locker. Instead, phone them when you get in, or if there's somebody staffing the counter, they'll go and tell the kitchen you've arrived. Soon, your food - piping hot, in broad plastic containers, not those traditional paper bucket things - will be brought out to the counter in a plastic bag, and you can pay in their portable credit card reader. The food is still Jing Jing delicious, though packed up in a plastic container and taking it home makes it come out not quite the same as it did on a platter in the restaurant. I was pretty happy with this, and the opportunity to have again their fantastic shrimp dishes - braised shrimp and kung pao are my favorites - makes me happy.

No ice bucket for our champagne?? OK, they said there was a fridge but it was full. I was so stoked but when we got there I didn't see any professional chefs! No Josia from Sent Sovi and no Cocoy Ventura of French Laundry. My heart sank with disappointment thinking about the freakin' FALSE ADVERTISEMENT that sucked me in to pay $316 for dinner for 2! "Oh, I didn't make the sauce vert..." for the foie gras tacos, even though it was on the menu. "I didn't make the pea gastrique" for the foie gras & peas even though it's on the menu. That dish was lame! It was a slice of raw, unseasoned foie on a slice of baguette with 1/2 of a pea pod on the side. "I was gonna do it this way but it just didn't happen..." And giggles. Those comments sucked the life out of me! Eleven of us paid $158 and you couldn't deliver what was on the menu?!?! COME ON! At least pretend they're epic dishes so I might forget that I paid $300+. I'm not gonna list all 8 courses but I will say there were two dishes that were very good. I loved the first course of Foie Gras Panna Cotta served in a cute little jar. The candied sage and the garlic blossom added a surprising kick to the subtle sweetness of the panna cotta. That garlic flower actually tasted like garlic! And it was great with the panna cotta! My favorite was the third course of Foie Gras Benedict because it was seared perfectly, sweetened with maple, and the bacon on top was crunchy-salty goodness. And why are you so unimaginative that you have 2 snickerdoodle desserts? Is it a snickerdoodle dishcrawl? I paid $20 for each course and this is what I get? If you want to experiment and have some friends over, this is the kind of dinner party you might throw for fun. But to charge $158 per head? This is ridiculous. I've been having friends over to experimental dinners at my place for FREE! I did enjoy chatting with the other 9 people I met that night, even though I was so bummed about the dinner. There was also a reporter and a photographer from The Daily Telegraph and a reporter from French TV 2. It was cool to be interviewed but then I was kind of annoyed every time the camera and the video camera were so close to my face while I ate. Damn, I wish I had my hair and make up done! Why didn't Dishcrawl mention that there would be reporters there before I bought tickets??? BEWARE of false advertising on the Dishcrawl website! The location and menu are not revealed until after you pay so be careful! After that experience I was totally turned off to Dishcrawl! Besides, why do I have to buy tickets from Dishcrawl to try food at a restaurant? Why not just skip the Dishcrawl and go to the restaurant to try their food? If you're lazy, and don't want to plan your own food adventure, you can pay these guys to do it for you. We went online, bought our tickets, and the next morning we were told where to meet. This is a unique concept for sampling foods we would probably not otherwise think about going into. We started at the one place, ate our dishes, and before we could even finish our drinks.. on to the next place! This was my first time trying 1 Oz Coffee after a friend recommended it. It's an outdoor cafe…read morelocated in between several office buildings. When I went I didn't see any designated parking for the cafe specifically, so parking anywhere in the office lots should work. We went on a Sunday afternoon and there was about a 15-minute wait to order. The main menu is listed in the center of the cafe, but when we approached the window to order, we saw the seasonal menu and changed our drink selection. Initially, I had wanted to try the cold brew but saw that it was $8 and was about the same price as some of the lattes. I ultimately chose the Bello Banana because I was intrigued by the coconut vanilla cream top. A lot of other banana lattes lean too artificial and taffy-like for my taste, but the banana and coconut flavors were both light and natural here. The coffee flavor was smooth but seemed a bit diluted. A lot of visitors sit down with their drinks to read or work at the shaded seating around the cafe. There is a mini golfing area and bocce ball court as well. Overall, this is nice coffee spot to catch up with friends. The atmosphere was a bit too corporate for my liking, but I appreciated that there was shade and ample seating to sit and enjoy our drinks.
