We arrived later than anticipated and the host greeted us warmly. The staff was amazing and when I accidentally left my phone charger in the room, they mailed it to my home. I've stayed in a LOT of hotels and for one at a modest price, Inn Towne Motel can't be beat.

If you're a conspiracy theorist, you'll love the wifi so weak that you can't connect to it with anything - laptop or phone. But if you're a weary traveler looking for an inexpensive place to have a hot shower and sleep for the night, you'll want something more name-brand. Trust me. The extra $10 you save by staying here is NOT WORTH IT. Not even for the free nightmares and hair left behind by the cleaning staff. Just driving up to this place gave me the urge to Yelp it, and that desire only got stronger the longer I stayed, which ended up not being very long because the smoke smell of the (non-smoking) room and the overdry air from the non self-regulating heater had me completely dried out within hours, the bed was scratchy, and I had the distinct feeling that the man in the room next to ours who bragged that he lives in this place for weeks at a time was hard at work packaging for transport either stolen goods or a body. Not interested in my belongings or my person being added to his inventory, I left six hours after I arrived, turning in my key to a silent, surly woman on my way out. Don't let this hotel happen to you. Go anywhere else. ANYWHERE ELSE. You won't regret it.

Certain weekends/events in Cooperstown can have Main B&B booked solid without an early reservation. Prices vary per season and the events taking place in town. This B & B is located within walking distance to downtown - leave your car parked at the B & B. Street parking and lot parking is available. I parked on the street many times staying here and had no problem. There are three different bedrooms to rent with your own private bathroom in each room. Bedrooms have hardwood floor with floor rugs. Breakfast is served between 8 and 9am, and Susan is a wonderful cook. I have always enjoyed her dishes. They provide you a front door key to enter the house after "closing" time, and you are also provided a key to your bedroom. This B & B is not handicap accessible - all bedrooms are on the second floor. Stairs wrap around and are only wide enough for those who may need to use crutches or a cane. This is an old Victorian style home, decorated beautifully providing you a warm welcome during your stay in Cooperstown. I have stayed here twice, and I highly recommend the Main Street B & B.

We stayed in the Queen Anne room which was lovely, perfect for a couple celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. Our private bath had double sinks which was nice. Our room, bathroom, and the entire bed and breakfast were extremely clean which is so important. Lastly, the breakfasts that Sue serves to her guests each morning are absolutely phenomenal!!! The owners were friendly and helpful. The owner gives his guests a choice of one of his watercolor paintings, they're copies, but a pleasant surprise none the less. The room was one of four in one of the buildings. Private entrance. The room had two beds, a queen and a twin. The rooms appoinents were cozy, the bath towels thick and fluffy though they could be bigger. My only compliant is that the fans in the bathroom are too loud. The fan on the room next to ours woke us up at 6AM. We would stay here again next time we visit the Baseball Hall of Fame I had contacted Eric (the owner) about the noisy fan and I think his reply to me is one more reason to stay there next we go back. When we arrived our room wasn't quite ready, so we asked what was a close place to eat. Jeremy at the front desk directed us to an excellent place just up the road. After spending an hour eating,vee came back and the room still wasn't ready. Jeremy took off from the cost for the inconvenience and we proceeded to hang out in the lobby talking to him about hunting, fishing, and the Cooperstown area. When our rooms were finally ready, we headed to their top level of rooms and settled in. I enjoy "vintage" hotels, but my son is used to modern ones. Needless to say, this place grew on him and it worked for us. We even enjoyed a cigar while overlooking the lake on our last day there. I thought it was a very good deal for the price and it's about a 10 minute ride to downtown Cooperstown, so you're a little ways away from that chaos. Can't beat the views!

They were more than accommodating and gave us a breakfast which we can choose from daily. It was great food and great service five star all the way. Bridget and Lou are awesome! They were even nice enough to let us use our electric grill on the deck( which was awesome ) facing the lake and what wooded areas. We saved a lot of money on the local restaurants which all really lacked quality ....average at best. It was a little bit more money than other B&Bs in area... but well worth it. They had a hiking trail right next to the property about 5 miles long which was one of the prettiest trails I have ever hiked . I did it twice! Just minutes from Glimmerglass State Park with a huge and beautiful beach! It was a little cold so we could not use beach. I cannot say enough about this bed and breakfast and we will be going back into years when my other son plays at Cooperstown.
