I cannot say enough good things about Hayla and the work that she does. My wedding gown had intricate lace and beading on the sleeves and bodice. Hayla had to lift the bodice which involved removing and altering the sleeves. The gown also had several layers which Hayla had to take up. During the appointment Hayla showed me different ways she could alter the dress. Together we selected the ones that would create the best fit. Two words! Miracle. Worker. She did an absolutely, WONDERFUL job!! I couldn't thank you her enough!! When I bought the dress, it was too big, and because of that, it bunched in the back. It was also very loose in the hips area. The entire top of my dress is beaded, so when I first had another seamstress with great yelp reviews look at the dress, she was terrified to touch it. When I say Hayla saved my wedding I MEAN it!! I ordered a custom wedding dress off of Etsy from a woman in Vietnam. I made the mistake of measuring my hips wrong and the result was a dress 4 inches too small. I couldn't pull it up past my thighs. The dress arrived 8 days before my wedding. In tears I drove with my soon to be husband to the first place I could think of. I worked next door to Hayla so I knew she could help me. I didn't have an appointment but she took me in anyway. I told her about what happened and we didn't even know if we could fix it. There was no getting a different dress, we had a themed wedding and the dress is what made it work. Hayla was beyond AMAZING when altering my dress for my April 2017 wedding. Her hands are magic and always insured me that my dress was in safe hands. My first visit she was so nice, confident, and recommended some suggestions to make my dress perfect in a short amount of time! In total we had did 4 fittings, she brought my dress in 6 sizes, added bra cup inserts, hemmed, bustled, and re created my entire back with the extra lace from taking in my dress! She is a lace genius!!! I wouldn't trust anyone else with that task. She was able to take the lace off the fragile mesh material to replace it in another area of my dress. We didn't let any fabric go to waste!! She was always so sweet and complimenting me and never made me feel like a tasks was too hard even though I know it was very hard work for her to complete. She even hand sews the bottom hem line so that it is perfect. The end result brought me to tears it was so amazing! This month, I had a 5 year vow renewal ceremony and I have Hayla to thank for making me look amazing in my dress. I wore a short white dress to my court wedding 5 years ago, so when my husband and I decided to renew our vows in church, I knew I wanted to wear the wedding dress of my dreams. In April I found the perfect wedding dress and received it at the end of August. I visited Hayla in early September. My peer at work found her online and thought she had some good reviews. I gave Hayla a call, she was very warm on the phone and told me I could come in anytime. Although I bought the size closest to my true size,it was still a bit big on me and I needed alterations. I also expressed to her that I wanted some sleeves added to my tube dress (see before picture attached) Hayla took the time to mock up several sleeve styles that could work for my body type and dress. I was blown away by her level of creativity. She was extremely patient with me and explained the benefit of each sleeve style and how it may add or detract from my look on my special day. With her help I was able to pick a style for my sleeves that I was happy with. The style she designed for me allowed me to wear my sleeves as both off shoulder and regular sleeves. As we were playing around with the mock up tulle that would be used for my sleeves, Hayla had an idea to have my sleeves go from the front to the back of my dress to create a small train(see picture attached for details). She wanted me to purchase a specific tulle that I unfortunately could not find in any of the fabric stores in Arizona. At the time, Hayla was making and designing her nieces ball gown dress and it just so happened that the tulle she used for her nieces dress matched my dress exactly. Hayla was kind enough to let me use the tulle fabric that was left over to create the train design she had come up with. I had 3 total fitting appointments. My vow renewal was a destination ceremony in Nigeria and Hayla made sure I had my dress well ahead of time and it was one less thing I had to worry about as we got ready for our trip to Africa. When I put on my dress on our wedding anniversary, my dress was everything I always dreamed of and more. Hayla completely transformed my dress and I couldn't have asked for a better designer. I cannot thank Hayla enough for her professionalism, creativity, attention to detail and care. It was so refreshing to meet a designer that loves her job and is very good at it too. She cares about making her brides/ clients look stunning on their big day or for their event. I highly recommend going to Hayla for any and all things design and alterations. Hayla is an incredible gown and dress seamstress! She altered my wedding dress down almost two whole sizes and you would never be able to tell the dress was altered. It would have been easy for her to compromise the integrity, shape and design of the dress to make this happen but Hayla is a perfectionist. Hayla was absolutely incredible. I was relieved to find out that she doesn't require appointments, because I waited until the last 6 weeks before the wedding to even find someone to alter my dress. Hayla not only added six bustles (three traditional, three modern) and hemmed multiple layers, but she also took out boning in the bodice that made the breast area "pointy." She had to completely deconstruct the lace overlay and redo the lace by hand. I was nervous about this prospect, but even now, I can't see any evidence whatsoever that she did a single thing to the lace--it's that perfect. The dress was absolute perfection. I went to Hayla 2/12 months ago i was recommended by a friend. If i had known now what a nightmare it was going to be I wouldn't of gone. It took her 2 1/2 months to do a big pillow for my dogs, a king pillow and a ramp I designed. Also a sm desk cushion. And a computer chair back and seat. Finally last week everything was done. Then she informed me she just takes cash! Then i got sticker shock 375.00. I told her Im giving you 300.00. I called to see if I could set up an appointment for my first fitting and talked to Hayla over the phone. I told her my wedding isn't until November and she immediately starts getting annoyed and saying that I'm way too early and I shouldn't be calling her (I've never been to a seamstress, so I have no idea what the timeline should be). Then she told me to call back when it's closer to the date and hung up on me. I didn't realize it was too early, so she could have been a lot more polite and said that instead of yelling and hanging up on me. Hayla, as everyone else here says, is a tiny dynamo of good vibes and lovely work. She does what she says she will, chats happily with everyone who comes in, and I'll be bringing her my alterations from now on. The little store is tight with a messy cluttered back room where she sews and it's hard to see how she works in there, but results speak for themselves, don't they? The project I brought her was not an easy one, and I've got pretty insane standards for couture since I had a grandmother who sewed for designers in NY. I needed a fully sequined dress hemmed, and it has a bias piped slit with a soft thin stretchy knit lining, and I wanted the edges relatively perfect, and the lining smooth because it will show. I came to Hayla in a panic. I received my Mother of the Bride dress I week before the wedding. It fit perfectly everywhere but the hem. I asked her if she could complete the hem in a few days.
