Nice establishment. Definitely has some yummy picks with a nice environment! My family and I ended up going here for a Mother's Day reservation, but it ended up being a bit difficult with the operational side of things. It's always a busy time for establishments, especially when it comes to holidays, but we repeatedly kept getting seated and "unseated" (the hostess would seat us, but then take us back to common area as the tables were either dirty or not ready). I didn't personally care about this, but I definitely noticed my party getting a bit frustrated by the experience as it happened about 4 times before we officially got seated, which also exceeded our initial reservation time. The service itself was okay. I wish they would've come around a bit more as we were out of water while eating our meal, but I know it was super busy that day!! I ended up getting the soft shell crab sandwich and it was pretty good! I think it would be even tastier with more sauce on the bun, but overall a nice pick. I also tried the lobster bisque; it had a nice texture with the little lobster bits, but found it overly salty. Hush puppies were a nice, crispy texture and I loved the sweet butter with it! One thing I absolutely loved about this experience was the mother's day flower pop-up stand! The cutest way to walk in and support another local business.

Sports bar with minimal TV selection. Only on one side of bar. I enjoyed my drinks and then had to bounce to another sport bar for the final four game . Service was attentive and cool ambiance. The crab cakes were great! As recommended as a staple by bar staff. I'd come back and enjoy seafood dinner if I was not trying to watch a game.

Second visit to Hazel's, and believe me, this will be a regular when we're in the area! Service was impeccable. Atmosphere is spacious, clean, modern, To add to previous review, we shared the cream of crab soup (try it!) and a small Caesar salad to start with. Pictured below. Delicious! Our entree was the Steam Pot Combo (plenty for the two of us). and it did not disappoint! Shrimp, clams, snow crab clusters, sausage, corn, potatoes. Fresh. Broth was SO flavorful, hubby cleaned it all up with the bread that accompanied the dish.

Such an awesome place to check out for great seafood options! We went for lunch and the lobster roll and soft shell crab sandwiches were perfect for what we were craving. It was nice to know they had a brunch option available and happy hours 7days a week! It was a beautiful layout for the restaurant and the service was 5stars throughout the entire meal.

Finally made it back to Hazel's for an impromptu happy hour - and it didn't disappoint! Delicious raw east coast oysters, peel and eat shrimp and white fish dip. The picpoul was delicious and the service was amazing as always (thank you for letting us squeeze in our happy hour order)! The energy is always lively in Hazels and they'll always have a game or race on TV. Can't wait to go back!

Dined here for dinner and I enjoyed it! Arrived 30 minutes early for my reservation and was sat immediately. For appetizer, I ordered Conch fritters. They were perfectly fried and very light density wise. The calypso ranch that came with me was yummy. I ordered a lobster roll with garlic fries and it was good! The fries were super duper garlicky, just a tad too much. Our waitress said they change their menu about every 3 months so we made it just in time. Definitely want to come back and try some other menu options!

Yum! We LOVED Hazel's. The vibe is very chill and the service was great. They have specialty hot sauce that was delicious. The lobster roll was well cooked with a good amount of lobster. We are excited to return.

I don't know why it took me so long to try this place -- I've been missing out. The entrance is really cool with its ship-themed design, and we were seated right away. It was a late lunch/early dinner, so the restaurant wasn't crowded, but I was surprised by how big it is inside. Our server was great and helped us pick an appetizer, which ended up being amazing. The escargot is a must-have -- the warm, fresh bread, plus the butter and herbs, made it incredible. We started with two drinks: The B.C. (Gray Whale Gin, Lo-Fi Sweet Vermouth, Select Aperitivo) -- very cool that they carry Select, since I almost never see it anywhere. The Oregon (Ketel One Peach & Orange Blossom Vodka, blueberries, Pinot Noir, lime, simple syrup) -- also really good and a unique mix of flavors. We also tried the Lobster Bisque. It had great flavor, but I do wish they offered some crackers or even a piece of bread with it. For entrees, I had the Connecticut-style Lobster Roll served hot with butter, and it was everything I hoped for. The amount of lobster and all that buttery goodness were perfect -- I'd absolutely get it again. We also ordered the Blackened Salmon BLT, and once again they nailed it with the softest ciabatta bread. It doesn't photograph as well as it tastes, but the sandwich did not disappoint. Price-wise, it can be on the higher side, but with quality and flavors like this, it's absolutely worth it. Can't wait to come back and try more.

We went to Hazel's for a birthday dinner. Service was amazing, and the ambiance is super fun for families. Our group had fish and chips, the fried chicken dinner and the salmon. I'm pretty sure everyone who did not order the chicken had fried chicken envy! The fish and chips is standard fare. A solid 4/5. Our waiter surprised two out of three birthday celebrants with a fun ice cream Sunday and a candle, which was a lovely gesture.

    Whitefish Pate.

TLDR: This restaurant offers an alright dining experience, with some highlights and lowlights. The service was commendable, and the atmosphere within the restaurant was lively. For appetizers, I ordered the whitefish paté and 4 oysters, two from the west coast (likely Kumamoto oysters) and 2 from the east coast. I ordered the salmon entreé as the main and a key lime pie for dessert. These dishes varied in their quality, so I will rate them individually below. Whitefish Paté (3/5): To start off, I had the whitefish pate which had come out very quickly. The pate itself paired with the provided saltine crackers were good, but the dish did not stand out in any way. As a result, it was only passable, and I am led to believe there may be other appetizers that are better. Oysters (5/5): The oysters came out afterwards, and they were extremely fresh and delectable. Personally, I am a fan of the more strongly flavored oysters, and the west coast oysters did a great job of satiating my hunger. I would recommend anyone to get the oysters here if they are interested. Salmon Entree (2/5): This was the most disappointing dish of the evening. The first thing that stood out to me was the coloring of the potatoes. One of the potatoes in particular was suspiciously dark, and after eating it, I confirmed that the restaurant had burned the potato. This was not in a charred way that added any flavor either. On top of that, the salmon portion was much smaller than the potatoes combined. I would not get this dish ever again. Key Lime Pie (4/5): The pie was delicious, but the only thing holding it back was the amount of meringue. Had the restaurant reduced the meringue slightly, the dish would have been much easier to finish. Otherwise, the pie had a perfect amount of lime flavor to it, especially with the lime zest added to top. Overall, I would like to come back, despite my ratings. There is a good chance I haven't had the starring dishes, especially since the menu is so vast.

Lobster rolls and oysters! This place was the perfect lunch while we were visiting. The service was so friendly and quick but the speed of everything didn't sacrifice any of the quality. They truly know about good food here. It's a well lit large dining space with a huge bar area. It gives seafood meets sports bar and was casual enough for lunch but a great place for a date. Happy hour starts at 3pm and they have 1/2 off oysters so I highly recommend!

I don't hype food often, but this? If you haven't had a lobster roll from Hayes, you're missing out. Straight heaven on a plate.

Oysters... delicious. Shrimp.. delicious. The lobster bisque.. amazing. The bread... just, you HAVE to order it. And pro tip... dip it in the soup. But that lobster roll..... epic! Honestly can't say enough great things about hazels. The service is great, the food is great, and so are the drinks. Can't wait to come back!

I can't find their brunch menu, can someone post it please?

Here you go! I'm a big fan of the pancakes. You can also order lunch from the regular menu. https://www.hrd.kitchen/food/#brunch

I see it says this is kid friendly. Do they have a kids menu?

I agree with Erin, I'm not quite sure this is a kid type of restaurant. I guess calling them ahead would be your best bet.

Can someone post a menu which includes prices? also, i can't find their wine list..can anyone post that?

If you look at my review, which seems like the most recent, I posted the menu with most of the pricing shown, which also shows the list of wines, beers, and cocktails. My name is Haleigh P. and we were there end of July!

My server kept wanting to put pepper from their pepper mill on my food, yes, that's how bland it was, that's when I noticed there were no salt and pepper shakers on none of the tables! None! The coleslaw with bleu cheese was sprinkled on the cabbage but was tasty! The server asked me how I wanted my salmon cooked? I've never been asked that before about salmon! I answered just cooked! They dried it out. It came out dry with lentils tomato sauce on it! Really 19 year old cook winging it! I ate what I could my server had her assistant boxed the rest of it for me and I bit them a fond ado! Tip my server very well for I am a very good tipper! I like to leave them smiling! There were multiple open tables when we arrived, so that estimate seemed reasonable. Instead, we waited until nearly 9:00 p.m. During that time, we went up to the hostess stand several times to ask for an update, and every single time we were told that we were "next." Yet we continued to watch numerous other parties get seated ahead of us. As the only white group waiting, it left us feeling like we were being treated differently. I can't say for certain why we were repeatedly passed over, but the experience made us feel unwelcome, especially after watching so many other groups be seated while we were continually told we were next. This is particularly frustrating because this isn't the first time I've felt this way at Market North End. I've continued to come back because the food is genuinely very good, but great food isn't enough to make up for feeling ignored and disrespected as a customer. This is consistent with all of the rumors we have heard about this restaurant being unfair to certain races. No one should have to wait an hour and a half while being repeatedly assured they're next, only to watch other parties be seated instead. I hope management takes a serious look at how the waitlist is managed and ensures that every guest is treated fairly and consistently.

The deviled eggs were topped with caviar and had a great texture and mustard. These are way better than the church potluck! (This reviewer loves a church potluck so this is high praise.) For soup and salad we had blue cheese wedges and lobster bisque. Both great! Best lobster bisque in Michigan. It rivals bisque from the best on the east coast. The day before our reservation, I stopped in to drop off flowers, a card, and a bottle of Fabric of the Land by Quilt--the same wine my wife and I shared at our wedding. I simply asked if they could help make the evening special. What the team did from there went far beyond anything we could have expected. They even thoughtfully decanted our wine a couple of hours before our arrival so it would be ready for us. From the moment we walked through the doors, the hospitality was extraordinary. The host team was incredibly kind and welcoming and escorted us to a beautiful booth they had selected for our anniversary. Every detail made us feel as though the entire team genuinely cared about making this occasion special. Nothing, however, made our evening more memorable than Teal. Her warmth, professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality were absolutely exceptional. She helped turn an already special anniversary into something my wife and I will sincerely never forget. Managers John Scholl and John Hall were also tremendous standouts. Both went out of their way to make us feel not simply welcomed, but genuinely valued. That kind of hospitality is rare, and it speaks volumes about the culture of the restaurant and the people leading it. And then there was the food--which was absolutely phenomenal. We started with the calamari and baked sea scallops, followed by the French onion soup, and everything was outstanding. We were kindly told that we could order half portions of the sides, so naturally we decided to try several: the wild mushrooms, jalapeño au gratin, street corn, and truffle mac and cheese. They even went above and beyond by bringing us the truffle popcorn from the lounge menu while we were dining in the main dining room. Every single item was incredible. For our entrées, my wife had the salmon and I had the ribeye. Both were cooked to absolute perfection, and the off-menu zip sauce with the ribeye was superb. As if the evening had not already exceeded every expectation, the team also treated us to a sample of Inniskillin Cabernet dessert wine, something we had never tried before. And because we were far too full by the end of dinner, they sent us home with an anniversary peanut butter pie to enjoy later--which was absolutely to die for. I want to give a sincere thank-you not only to Teal, John Scholl, and John Hall, but to the entire Ocean Prime team--from the hosts and service staff to the chefs and everyone working behind the scenes. An experience like this does not happen because of one person alone. It takes an entire team committed to hospitality and excellence, and that was evident throughout the entire evening. You helped create a memory for my wife and me that we will cherish for years to come. If you are looking for more than simply a great meal--if you are looking for an elevated dining experience where the food, service, atmosphere, and genuine hospitality all come together--I cannot recommend Ocean Prime Troy highly enough. We walked in excited to celebrate our anniversary and walked out as absolute raving fans. If I could give more than five stars, I would. Thank you to everyone at Ocean Prime for making our sixth anniversary something we will never forget. We cannot wait to come back as you have made raving fans out of us for life. May God truly bless you all for everything you do. Your Raving Fans, The Deane's
