A week ago I made an 8 am appointment after being told I could wait for my oil change in the cafe. Arrived at 8:10 only to be rudely told I would have to leave my car for the day (the cafe was closed, so nowhere to wait.) Explained I had an appointment and that my husband is in the hospital and we have only one car: no matter. Man at the desk was cold and unsympathetic...let alone non apologetic. I have been locally looking for a reputable honest service for my Subaru because the closest dealer is Winner Subaru in Dover. The drive to Dover is not worth it because, to begin with, I was never satisfied with them. Again, I'm glad I found a reputable service for my Subaru 10 minutes from my house. read more

We were vacationing in the area over the 4th of July and wow was the area busy! The paper said that it was one of the busiest years ever in Rehoboth. People everywhere! Wouldn't you know, that is when our trusty vehicle decided to break down! But at least our good old SUV had the heart to do it in the best place possible! If there is such a thing as the right place to breakdown, that's where it happened! We met a wonderful woman who recommended this garage that just happened to be right down the road and not somewhere up the Coastal Highway which could have been called the Coastal Crawlway that weekend! She helped us so much, we are very thankful she was there! We rolled into this garage during their lunch hour and they jumped right on the situation. They said they knew they would have trouble getting parts if we needed something they didn't have since it was right before the 4th. Unfortunately we needed an alternator which most places don't happen to have just lying around, but they ordered it quickly and then everyone had to wait. We originally needed to go home on the 4th but realized that my wife's vacation just got extended! She and my son could wait, I was due back at work and I had to visit the great folks at Enterprise and drive home. This business was also great to deal with. My wife and son would be bringing the vehicle home and I hoped that this garage would repair the vehicle and make it safe and sound for them. They did everything that needed to be done and they kept her posted along the way! They were absolutely awesome! As soon as the part got there, they called my wife and told her that they were beginning to work on it, they let her know what time they thought they would be done and then when they finished (earlier than expected even) they called and let her know. She was able to plan her departure and get on the road that evening without feeling rushed or worried! They were extremely nice to all of us and we appreciated it so much! The vehicle ran like a top and she never once felt nervous during the long drive home! The pricing was very fair and reasonable and the service was above and beyond! This episode didn't come close to ruining our vacation and that is largely due to the fact that such great people were surrounding us the whole time! It was a busy time of year, it was hot and hectic and it could have been easy for all of these people to get frustrated, but everyone had smiles on their faces and worked so hard to get the job done! We had a dead battery in the parking lot of the Dog Fish Head Inn. Hazzard came out immediately for a jump start. We followed their truck to their shop and they right away put in a new battery and tested the alternator. The mechanic was very friendly. Hazzard saved our vacation. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! Damage was done to my car from the back bumper all the way to the front bumper on their property. Owner was extremely rude and denied everything and said his workers would never do this. Terrible customer service and do not waste your time taking your car here to get serviced you never know what damage they will do and deny the entire thing. read more

Hazzards has been completing routine maintenance on my SUV for 2 years. The service is great and the staff is always friendly. They also completed 100K maintenance on my son's Honda Civic before driving to California. Good work and the prices were reasonable. Being a locally run business, Hazzards does not to try the "up sell" routine like the chain repair shops. read more

I trusted my grandfather when he told me this was a good place to take my car. However, each and every single time I had my car in for work done, I was billed and told my car was fixed. It was never fixed, and I was always given a horrible excuse as to why. I had eventually had enough and switched to the Lewes Meineke. Not only was it cheaper and WAY faster, they were always friendly and honest with me. When they were taking a look at a leak I had that was on going even after 3 separate trips to Hazzard's to have it repaired, they said "it looks like someone was toying around with it trying to make it stop." When I told them I had been taking it to a mechanic they were in disbelief that such a sloppy and sad attempt was done by someone who calls themselves such. If I could I would give this place a zero star rating. Huge waste of money and time. Such a small local shop...maybe they actually do a good job for family and friends, but not me. read more

My 10 yr old Silverado Duramax Diesel truck needed 2 glow plugs replaced (I had a trouble code reader). Based on a good experience with Hazzard by a neighbor I got an estimate from Hazzard's owner - Lawrence - for the labor involved as I wanted to order the exact OEM parts myself online (usually much less than what GM dealers charge). Did not want to take a chance on cheaper after-market parts. Knew enough about this diesel engine and work involved to be able to judge that this shop knew this engine. They did the work and final bill was within a few dollars of their estimate. They even returned the used parts to me, marking which cylinder they came from. Happy to now have a nearby repair shop I feel I can rely upon. read more

I dropped my car off on a Wednesday night for a 7:30am appt. The next morning. On Thursday I called at noon because I had not heard from the shop and was told my car still had not been looked at. Finally, at 6 pm someone called and told me i had front end problems. I said okay whats the cost? her reply was we will call you tomorrow morning with a cost. Again at noon Friday after still not hearing I called again and was told I would have a price after lunch. Yet again at 6 pm a woman calls me and tells me they would have to get me a price on Monday because the guy who does pricing wasn't in Friday. I waited all Monday still to have no pricing. So I called and said I am going to get my car the lady on the phone said it could be picked up til 8 o'clock. When I arrived at 6 30pm they told me my keys had been locked in the office and I would have to wait for the lady to come unlock the office. Once the lady arrived I received nothing but attitude as she had to unlock the office to get my keys. WORST REPAIR SHOP EXPERIENCE EVER. read more
