I know the goal here is to get my IT bands loosened, so I do my best to let her do her magic. I've been with Dr. Duddey for over 20 years, but I honestly waited too long to return this time. Thursday: full-on 10/10 pain. I searched Yelp and found Dr. Balta's clinic. The reviews made me confident he could help, and I was able to get an appointment within a couple of hours. I hobbled in feeling miserable. The consultation with Dr. B was thorough, and he came up with a clear plan: 30-minute massage, stim with an ice pad, and then an adjustment. James gave an excellent massage, really working into the problem areas. After 20 minutes of stim, I went back to Dr. B for the adjustment. He adjusted me gently -- no pain at all. You can tell he has years of experience. When he finished, my pain dropped instantly from a 9 to a 2. What a relief! It slowly crept back to about a 4 later that evening, but I iced and rested and stayed stable. Friday, I made it through a full day of family events -- by the end, pain was down to a 2. Saturday, I woke up at a 1/10. After a few light exercises, I felt almost back to full strength. I even booked a class at F45! Just finished that workout and feel great. Took it easy on back exercises, but wow -- what a turnaround in just a few days. Thank you, Dr. Balta and James, for getting me back on my feet! This is on top of a constant ache in the middle of my back that I have lived with for years, since I fell on my back while roller skating. I went to The Joint chiropractic on Yorktown/Main yesterday and received Excellent care from Dr. Todd Masler He noticed right away that my hips were off center, by quite a bit, and even showed me in the mirror how bad it was. He then went through my past injuries and daily activities thoroughly, before giving me the Best adjustment I have ever had. It seems everything was out of alignment and I didn't even realize till after, how tight my neck had been before the adjustment. I can now turn my head from side to side without getting locked up. Last night, I was able to sleep through the night for the first time in A Long time, without hip pain, and the ache in the middle of my back is almost gone. I had a busy day after the adjustment and that constant ache is pretty much gone, or at least it hasn't returned. Foot is better also, but still a little achey. Todd explained how weight shifts around when one side of the body is injured, and I really appreciate how he explained everything I had going on, so it made sense. What sets this clinic apart from many other chiropractors is their corrective chiropractic approach. Adjustments are targeted precisely to the areas where your spine is misaligned, based on detailed X-ray analysis rather than a one-size-fits-all treatment. The clinic is currently undergoing a management change, but fortunately my two expert doctors will be staying. The one area I hope the clinic will improve is its queue management system.
