My first interaction within 5 mins was one of the mechanics MANUALLY closing my automatic lift gate. I should have went somewhere else then. I was sometimes a day or two late for my bimonthly calibration and it was never a problem. The 3rd time he made up some late fee out of nowhere. I was frustrated and asked who was collecting the fee and was given some bs story. I checked with smart start and the vendor controls fees. Not smart start. So all I can say, is this gentlemen is a PA constable and running a mechanic shop for people with DUI. He is taking advantage of people and it's sad. DO NOT USE them. Go to Mckenzie Auto in York. They only charged $25 for calibration and this Edmonson's charged $40. After I called him shady for charging arbitrary fees, he told me to not come back. Huh, called out on shady behavior and then i'm not allowed to be a customer. What's funny is I never would have been a customer here if it wasn't for Smart Start. I highly encourage you to find another garage, this one is shady as they come. Communication was poor, when you show up you just get this stink eye kind of look from soneone with zero personality.

I take my car in this past weekend and now my car won't pass inspection do to 2 tires of having too worn down of a tread, and they need replaced...... If they really need replaced why was I not told of this when I took it into them 2 weeks ago to get it inspected? Were my tires on the brink of passing and in just 2 weeks, all the sudden they're no good? Or are you telling me I've driven significantly faster and harder in these last 2 weeks that it has suddenly worn them down that much? Had this been addressed as an issue last time, I would have gotten my tires fixed before taking it back to get inspected. But I was not told that, and now I've had my time wasted this weekend. Not only that but I now I have reason to believe I'm being ticked and ripped off, because how all of the sudden are my tires no longer passing, when 2 weeks ago they did. Immediately after receiving it back, the shifter felt rough and misaligned in a way it had not before the service, and it gets stuck. Because the issue appeared immediately after the vehicle had been in their care, I contacted the shop and reasonably expected them to inspect it as a courtesy before asking me to pay approximately $120 for a diagnostic evaluation, which they required. I was not demanding that the shop automatically pay for a repair, nor did I expect them to diagnose an unrelated shifter problem during an oil change. I simply wanted them to investigate a new issue that appeared immediately after their service and determine whether it could have resulted from how the vehicle was handled under their care. Instead, the owner's response focused on the vehicle's age, mileage, unrelated recommended maintenance, and prior hood damage from a deer accident that occurred in 2018. None of those things explain why the shifter suddenly felt different immediately after the service. The response also unfairly suggested that I was only trying to obtain a free repair and refused to consider any other possibility. That misrepresents both my concern and my intentions. I had planned to return for the other recommended services, including the state inspection, until this happened. Had the shop simply inspected the concern and handled the situation professionally, my review could have been very different. I have no problem acknowledging good service when I receive it, as shown by the fact that I returned after my first visit. This was my experience with Witmer Auto. Rather than investigating a legitimate concern that arose immediately after service, the business shifted the focus toward unrelated issues and made assumptions about my motives. I will not be returning and believe other customers should be aware of how concerns may be handled when something appears wrong after service. Update: After I raised my concerns, the business contacted me by voicemail at approximately 5:07 p.m., after closing. Later that night, at approximately 11:55 p.m., the owner sent me a private Yelp message accusing me of planning to "defame" the business, stating that I was "making a fool" of myself, and telling me, "Call me tomorrow or my attorney will be calling you." I found this late-night communication hostile and intimidating, and it further reinforced my decision not to return or negotiate.

Long story short - their head mechanic didn't know how to check oil properly on her Nissan crossover? (name escapes me) Three times in the shop and they tell her the oil is over full. I go in, act dumb and ask if they could show me how to check the oil since I got blamed for it anyway "your dad is over filling it" Stooge pulls dip stick and proclaims "see overfill again by twice" Me - "flip that dip stick over" Dude had no words because the other side had NOTHING on it because they drained 5 quarts the day before because "it was overfilled" I promptly asked the gentleman "if you toss a stick in a bucket of oil, is it possible to only get oil on one side of said stick?" Note: these cars/engines have an oil drain back hole directly above the dip stick which covers it with oil several inches up the stick, on one side. Even a moron knows to wipe the stick and reinstall to check and look at both sides. A not-so-certified village idiot should know these cars are best checked after they have sat awhile, regardless this poor village idiot was happy to run out 5 minutes after we arrived and check it without ever having a towel in mind. Way to go imbecile. Needless to say, it never left the place and the motor was hammering because they told her to run it and I want putting oil in it again for them to blame me for overfilling. A few days later we stopped in and find in an attempt to get the warranty co to pay for a motor, they blew it up. The one lucky actually told us what they were doing. Obviously totally oblivious to the fact he was saying they were trying to commit insurance fraud. Good luck if you go here or if, like my kid, AutoMax sends you here because their shop is backed up. These geniuses will fix your vehicle right up like Dewey, Cheatum & Howe, attorneys at law would fix you up on legal issues. Well, that statement isn't fair.
