If I could give 0 stars I would. I called HD Electric today following up on the 6 houses that have been affected and worked on by HD electric. The issues that is present at the moment is the HoA has never provided us with a statement at all for the services provided by HD electric which they are stating is 3,500 per unit. How is one supposed to pay a bill that was never received to begin with. I called TDLR and they requested I call HD electric to obtain that bill/ itemized statement. I spoke with "Rusty" who had an incredibly disgusting attitude. This is not the first time that one of the homeowners affected by this has experienced this by calling this rude and unethical company. If it was up to us and not the HOA we would have never gone to a company that is extremely rude for no reason and short! You ask them a question trying to find answers and they hang up! I would never recommend this company to anyone! The lack of respect for their customers or anyone even using this phone line is absurd, disgraceful, and negligent . And if anyone from HD sees this and cares to respond solely to save face, please don't! If you are not allowing people to follow up with your high and mighty company after sending out huge amounts with no bill then maybe try working in a field where you don't have to work with people and can be a jerk for free! 6 people in my neighbourhood have been without electricity since 9/20, 4 days now, HD is apparently working with HOA to get this resolved. Once I called to check status and ask questions, Rusty was not able to answer any of my questions and stated he was driving in traffic, which to me, there is no answer, why answer if you are driving. Basically everyone is giving us the runaround. News stations have been contacted to look more into this mess. read more

Fantastic job. They were fast, efficient, hard working, and at a reasonable price. Not to mention just good people. The electricity to our pool was knocked out by Treeline Septic. After having no electricity and receiving multiple quotes, HD came out quickly and was able to get the job. We were quoted at 5k-8k by several companies. HD came in with a more common sense approach and it only cost $500. Instead of dragging all new lines to the pull, they found an intersection and started from there. We had a tree fall on our power line one weekend which bent the riser pipe to the meter 90 degrees. They came out first thing Monday to replace the riser and worked with the city and PEC to get our power back on that same day. We also had them do all of the electrical for our master bath remodel. This included moving can lights, replacing an exhaust fan, installing an additional exhaust fan, and new outlets next to the vanity. Some of the plugs and light fixtures had unusual placement and they checked with us several times to make sure the placement was correct. Working on a remote job 3 hours away from home is challenging enough, but when a high dollar piece of equipment needs some last minute wiring because the manufacturer's technician responsible for starting it up is flying in from out of state the next day- you HAVE to perform and get the job done. That is EXACTLY what HD Electric did for me. I called the office and explained my need while in my car and Rusty had his guys on site within a very short time to assess my needs. While one technician started prepping the site- another was headed to pick up the necessary parts/wiring to get our pump station wired into the power panel. In very short order, they had the equipment wired in, lines buried in conduit under the ground, and the machine all prepped waiting for the tech's arrival. I couldn't have asked for better coordination and the price met my budget given my extreme circumstances and last minute demands. Oh, and the entire team was very professional and responsive to my questions. YOU CAN BET I WILL CALL THESE GUYS AGAIN IN THE NEAR FUTURE FOR ALL MY COMMERCIAL NEEDS. People that have been referred to Mike have had great experiences and would highly recommend his services. And in regards to the service fee, like most electricians and service guys, you have to charge a minimum because it takes forever to get anywhere in this Austin traffic and there are some people in this world who may consider getting their head checked out. HD Electric was extremely courteous, prompt, knowledgeable about the problem. I called Rusty at HD to inquire about getting some 220V outlets installed in my workshop. He took some basic information and said Mike Hollaway would be at my house on Tuesday. I didn't hear anymore from him so when Tuesday came I was skeptical but at 8:05 AM Mike rolled up to my house. He looked the job over and directed his crew how to begin while he went for some supplies. By about 10:30 they had completed a perfectly good job, cleaned everything up and were off to the next location. Their professionalism, courtesy and quality could not have been better. I have nothing but good things to say about HD Electric. The other day I had a power emergency after my AC technician installed an power disconnect on my outside compressor. After, installing the disconnect and turning back in the main breaker to the house things went wrong. Electronics in my house (ceiling fans, AC fan, power strips smoking). The AC tech tested some power outlets and found that I had I had low voltage (80 volts) on some outlets and high voltage high voltage on others (168 volts) So, they called HD Electric after hours to have an electrician prove what they did by installing the disconnect did not cause my electrical problems. Mike with HD Electric showed up. He with the help of PEC (my electric company) found that I had a faulty neutral wire (aluminum) between my house and my power meter. Because of this the system was unable to balance the power between A and B phase. HD Electric moved a job they had scheduled the next day to make my house electric problem their priority. Mike showed up before 9 am with his helper Brandon. They worked together to replace all the power cables and neutral wire with new copper from my main breaker to the power meter. The also swapped out my main and distribution panels and breakers. Mike advised me to change out the old Federal Pacific panels http://diy.stackexchange.com/questions/62320/should-all-federal-pacific-panels-be-replaced. I had been planning on doing so as they are a fire hazard. They finished up the work before noon. I will continue to do business with HD Electric from now on. Thanks HD! Kevin read more

If there was a way to rate higher than 5 stars we would do that for these guys. We had had a spurious electric problem for several weeks that kept getting worse over time. It finally got to the point where one of our furnaces quit working (in 40 degree weather), half the lights and receptacles in the house were dead and we spent a sleepless night worrying that the house would catch on fire. I contacted two electrical companies that are highly rated on Yelp. One told me they were too busy to help and another told me they could schedule a call in about 3 weeks. We finally contacted HD Electric at 6:45 this morning. Mike and another electrician got to our house by 8:00. By 8:30 they had fixed the problem, explained to us what had happened, waited while I fired up the furnace to ensure it worked and were on the way to their next call. Very polite and professional and excellent service at a reasonable price. HD Electric is now our go to electricians for any future electrical projects or emergencies we might have. read more

Highly unprofessional. I called to have a breaker inspected and potentially replaced, and the guy replaced the breaker without giving us the price beforehand. Their website does not list any prices or say that there is a minimum charge. His response was that he doesn't have to tell me the price. I hired these guys based on a friend's recommendation. I was reluctant because I am not knowledgable about this skilled trade. These guys, all of them, did a wonderful job explaining the what and why of it all. Note: this was a HUGE job in a whole house remodel. They gave suggestions and worked tirelessly to ensure the placement and quality was perfect! Unlike so many contractors, I never felt they were being careless of my home nor where they cutting corners. I might add, I was pleased to learn that these guys were constantly taking classes to stay up to date on their trade. Last thought, there were a few times where little things came up that needed to be address either due to a mistake or another contractor interfering. HD electric was amazingly fast to respond and make things right. Although I'm certain you can save a few dollars going with someone else, these guys are worth it.
