So I sent half. In the morning there was no written estimate, no details ready and no PGM! Unfortunately for PGM I do send out communication and we have a text / phone call records you simply can't argue. So we start with him being over an hour late, he mills around swearing at me! for being upset, and when this guy shows up to do the work, which was glazing a window up on the roof line, PGM was gone in a flash and never called or returned. Never. Then his partner starts asking for cash payment and I really think he didn't even know his partner had already been paid. Ok, I'll play. But it didn't get better. I think the guy PGM sent was a carpenter and he was ok to do the work, but PGM itself, as a company, is farcical. Really, truly, incompetent. Even after paying them up front. :))

I tried contacting him about it and he hasn't returned any of my texts or phone calls. I am getting the police involved the value of the items is over 7500. The work was the worst. The painters did a lousy job. The carpenters same thing. I had to have them redo things several times and it's still bad. The job took 4 times longer than it was supposed to. They left a mess everywhere they were. One of the guys splattered cement all over the walls. He ruined the paint in the bedroom when he was putting molding in. The painters put new ceilings and walls in and the quality of the work was ridiculous. They didn't take the molding off the windows and doors when they put the drywall up so the wall runs into the molding. The Mason left patches of cement in the grass, cement splatter all over the door, walkway and siding. He started the stairs and came back months later to finish. The deck has so many ridiculous mistakes I had to make them fix. Some of them they just didn't. The door that goes into the porch is so crooked it doesn't even shut. They ruined rugs and towels in the basement with mud and cement. They used my towels to clean their mess. They used my furniture to stand on and put their tools on. The painters didn't cover the furniture so there was plaster dust everywhere. They used my kitchen sink to wash their brushes and left cement in the sink. They left their paint tray, wet brushes, and cans all over the kitchen counters so the counters were covered in paint. They took down wallpaper but never removed all of the paper backing from the walls and then painted over it. The walls have bumps all over and the trim edges are fuzzy from the paper they didn't remove. They do not know what they are doing.

They were recommended to me by a friend to do a variety of time sensitive jobs at the end of a major renovation of our tenant unit in our two family in Watertown. Their jobs included tiling of a newly installed kitchen, installed and encasing a vent to the exterior for an in-unit washer drier, installed a built-in mirror cabinet in a bathroom, and installed a new, wider basement door. While they were there they ended up solving a variety of additional problems - temporarily removed some kitchen cabinetry and door trim to enable delivery of a new refrigerator, plastered and painted a removed cabinet area, strengthened the steps into my basement, etc. Throughout the process Michael and Tom communicated super well, pointing out options in how to proceed, made suggestions for sequencing of projects for better outcomes, kept us up to date regarding progress to completion dates, etc. They took meeting their commitments to completion dates super seriously, working extra hours and weekends when they ran into unexpected complications, and checking in with me to make sure I was happy with things along the way. I general contracted our renovations (what was I thinking...) over three months and observed and had personal experience with each of the contractors we used. Some looked great, and ended up being hard to work with, expensive and underdelivered. Michael and Tom were the opposite. While they may appear more low key and not as polished as some, they were probably the most effective, professional and responsible of all the people I hired. I am hiring them for a number of additional things. These guys rock - I recommend them to all my friends and neighbors.

They came to demo the old tile and then the problems started. First they were stuck at another job site, then they had another client with an emergency, so there several days when I waited all day for them to not show up. They did work late to finish the drywall and baseboards in time for the painters. The plumber who they contracted to do the vanity was great. I wish they had just told me from the start that this tile job was out of their league. Instead, Mike spent several days of hard work and long hours trying very hard but the result just wasn't great. He ripped out and re-tiled sections to try to fix it. , it just didn't work out with the tile, and I'm having to repay to have it redone.
