When the paving crew called to say they could start six weeks early, Michael jumped through hoops to make it happen. Chris has come out to our house multiple times for things as minor as replacing switches to more major troubleshooting issues with our panel. Chris is responsive over the phone. There's no call center to go through. While he's very busy, he has always been able to schedule us at times that are convenient for both of us. Most importantly, he's absolutely trustworthy as far as being able to complete any job we've had. We have an older house, so whenever something pops up that we're unsure of, whether it's a functional issue or safety concern, Chris is able to quickly diagnose the issue and solve it efficiently. He was thorough in inspecting our house and talking through what our electrical system looks like in our house and explaining in plain language why something is happening. I've learned a tremendous amount about our house and electricity in general from his work. The cherry on top is that he is competitively priced for the very high level of expertise that he brings to the table. He's never tried to upsell us and has even talked me out of some work that I've inquired about when it's unnecessary. We've even actually ended up calling him to check work that other electricians have completed when issues have arisen. No one I knew had any recommendations, so I contacted a few electricians on Yelp because I didn't know where to start. He responded quickly and was EXTREMELY helpful, talking to me on several calls to give an estimate and initial troubleshooting ideas, including suggestions for what to tell my building's engineer in case I opted to have the engineer try to fix it first. He had me send photos of my electrical panel and he mentioned the brand of breakers I had (Challenger) are known to be problematic and hazardous, so he suggested that I have them swapped out when I have the lightswitch fixed. He said my building engineer could probably do it if I preferred that, which would be less expensive. Because my building just changed maintenance/engineering companies earlier this year and I don't really know or trust the new engineer yet, I wanted to have an electrician do this to make sure it was done correctly. I was impressed by his Yelp reviews, Angie's List reviews, and BBB rating, so I hired him. Chris was super easy to work with to schedule the appointment, and he gave me a 2 hour window for when he'd arrive (and as it approached, he called/texted to update me on a more exact ETA). I ended up having him replace all my breakers, and he also replaced the three light switches that were faulty. He also swapped out my hardwired smoke detector, since my old one was past its prime. I pre-purchased the breakers and detector since I had a few days' lead time, so he only charged me for the switches and his time (which was spot-on with the estimate he gave me over the phone). He also went up on my roof when he saw the breaker for my AC unit seemed to not make sense for the size of my apartment, and sure enough it was not what the AC unit sticker said it should be. So he replaced that one with the correct amperage, which reduces the strain on the AC Unit (so it doesn't get damaged) and reduces the risk of a fire. He also found some problems with my building's roof and some building wiring that was exposed up there, which he photographed and sent to me so I could pass it along to the board and management company for them to handle. Chris is a super nice guy, and he was great at explaining what was wrong and what needed to be fixed without upselling me. I'm someone who stresses out about anything home maintenance because I'm terrified of something going tragically wrong, so I appreciated the info he shared. I've already recommended him to my neighbors in our building's facebook group, and I will definitely hire him again for any other electrical work I may need. (I may eventually get my life together and replace some ceiling light fixtures and install a fan. While in theory I could do it myself, I'd rather not accidentally electrocute myself. Plumbing and electric are the two things I don't mess around with, even for simple fixes).

Initial contact: They were extremely responsive when I reached out and I loved being able to schedule online (and there was a solid amount of availability. At the appointment: When it came time for the appointment, the technician (who was on time and fully communicative) went above and beyond in the best way. Not only did the technician answer my 100 questions and concerns about smart locks, but he also advised me my options with different locks throughout the property to balance safety and cost. I thought they would only replace the locks but they also were able to replace the doornobs, offering several appealing options in the style I wanted. They had a variety of options for locks too - regular door locks, deadbolts, and smart lock varieties. They even cleaned off the door all around the doornob because it was dirty and looked a little gross! My biggest joy has to be that they were able to use the same locks on multiple doors so we could use one key for all the doors, which is a lifesaver because I was startingbri appear as a janitor with so many keys, lol. After it was all done, they made me a bunch of copies of the key, which was helpful and honestly unexpected because I thought I'd have to go to Lowes after to do that myself given the million and one copies we needed for various family members. Vibes: it was such a seamless experience with an incredibly friendly, helpful, technician who treated my house with respect (eg no outside shoes inside) and was patient with my questions/concerns. Cost: Pricing was all competitive with other companies I considered. Overall: An excellent experience; I'll only be using Danny Keys for my future lock change needs and recommending them to my friends and neighbors!

Thank you very much Ted! I found Ted on Craigslist and did some homework online and found all the great reviews here that put my concerns with 'hiring someone on Craigslist' at ease. I'm happy to add to the great reviews here, Ted certainly does a great job. Ted was the 5th quote I received. I've been procrastinating on getting my tv mounted/outlet installed/wires hidden as I've received quotes as high as $1200 with warnings that holes would have to be made to hide the wires, etc. With holes, comes the task of finding the exact shade of paint to match which was something I wasn't looking forward to doing. I digress...numerous holes were NOT made in the walls; in fact, not one was made AND I paid significantly less. Furthermore, Ted was nice enough to accommodate my work schedule and came in the evening and he DIDN'T charge me an inflated rate to do so as I was told in a previous quote. Additionally, Ted entered the house with covers on his shoes to not track snow throughout the house and he cleaned up very nicely after the job. It's those little things... Thanks again Ted! Ted was GREAT! We called him from a craigslist ad on a Sunday. He agreed to come over that evening, which was great because we were buying our TV and shelfs that day! He gave us an upfront estimate before starting the project. We put together the shelves as he mounted the tv. We purchased the mount from him directly, which saved time and money and anxiety. He knew exactly how to do what we wanted, without us knowing how to explain. All we said was that we wanted the cords hidden and on a certain spot on the wall. He asked us questions about cables like blue ray cables, which we don't have but might want someday. Then he hung our IKEA floating shelves. It was awesome, as these are major pieces of furniture and he had all the right equipment - drills, bolts, extention cords, etc. He placed the cable boxes and video equipment and drilled holes to hide those cables in the shelving units. Again, awesome. We have a 5 year old and twin 1 year olds, so having the components up and out of the way was our key objective. This was acheived with a very modern and sleek look. I found Ted on Craig list back in April and was reluctant to even try using anyone from the site because of horror stories. The wording on his advertisement caught me along with the pricing. I called Ted and setup my install of a 50' LCD, 5 speaker surround sound system along with my PS3. Upon arrival, I was impressed that he had bags full of tools, he had every wire that I needed and even the ones that I didn't need. Ted went over pricing with me before he began and the job lasted about 4 hours. Ted removed & replaced my baseboards correctly, drilled holes and ran wires without being an eyesore and vacuumed after the job. After the job, I referred him to my best friend and Ted successfully hung a 42' plasma for him and left him happy as well. So, of course when I purchased my latest 42' plasma for my bedroom I immediately called Ted. He is fair on pricing, well prepared, deceptively strong enough to hoist the TVs onto the bracket without damage, and just a professional about his craft. I would use Ted again in a hear beat as well as refer him to my friends and family, you should too. read more

I found Dish Direct (aka HD Forever) on a Google search for TV installers in my area. I called and had Ted come out to give me an estimate on installing a 42" LCD TV above one of the fireplaces in our home, as well as a Google TV/Blu Ray player. I later called him to set up a date for the installation When the date came, Ted arrived promptly (actually, in the middle of a heavy snowstorm!). The mounting bracket I had already purchased from Costco was not able to be used for my TV, but Ted had the correct bracket on his truck. He did a beautiful job of mounting the TV and setting it and the Blu Ray up. He was neat & clean and all wires/cables were hidden & holes patched. All this, and at a reasonable price. Often these days, you can consider yourself lucky if you can get something done right the second time. Ted, thanks so much for doing wonderful work and doing it right the FIRST time!!!! This guy is a pro!!!!!!! He came in on short notice, accomodated my crazy schedule, worked late into the night. The scope of the project was to hang a 55" LED, Connect a receiever, PS3, Bluray, hang surround sound speakers and conceal all the wires. He did WAY more. Showed me some stuff regarding home entertainment that I had no clue about. Went STEP by STEP through how and what he was doing. The installation was FAST, ORGANIZED AND NEAT. I am 100% satisfied with the installation and would DEFINITELY recommend him. I barely slept last night, amazed at how perfect everything looked. I have dreamt of building this system a LONG time and Ted, I owe it to you to post this awesome experience. I even woke up the youngest early this morn just so she can check it out! I bought my TV over a year ago and used the included stands. After I moved, I figured I'd hang the TV myself so I went out to buy a TV mount. Youtube told me it would be a piece of cake, Samsung had other plans. No mount I purchased had the right sized screws. I called almost everywhere but, because of the pandemic no one was available, not even Yelps number one reviewed place for installs. Luckily I came across Edward Suvi. He was available the next day and provided an accurate quote over the phone and through text message. When he arrived, he looked at what needed to be done, asked exactly what I wanted, and came equipped with everything needed for the job. He ended up hanging my soundbar as well. He did the job with no issues and cleaned up well afterwards. I'd highly recommend him and have saved his card for other work. read more

I hired Ted for a 55" flat screen install. A little more complicated than the average job as it required installing a new electrical outlet and routing cables through the wall. Ted showed up on time, and was really professional - I appreciated the care he took while working. He wore shoe coverings just to make sure he didn't leave any marks on our floor. The whole job took 2.5-3 hours - something I definitely could not have tackled on my own. The install looks amazing - no wires to be seen. Ted even routed some wires behind our baseboards, which looked like a lot of work. On top of his great work, Ted was VERY reasonable. I shopped around and got quotes from several guys. They may have done just as good of a job, but at 2x to 3x the price! Highly recommend Ted - couldn't be happier. read more

I found Ed on Craiglist. I was a little apprehensive as in the past I had a bad experience with a guy that installed my dish antenna and wiring. I needed a 40" LCD installed in my bedroom alongwith hiding wires and installing an electrical outlet behind the TV. I also wanted wires to be run from dish antenna to the guest room TV. Ed came on time and was able to complete the work exceeding my expectations. He even provided a swivel mount for the TV for a very reasonable price. I asked Ted Suvi to install Bose speakers throughout my apartment at the Aqua building. I was familiar with his work, because he previously mounted my flat screen TV. He came over on a weekend and though we agreed on a flat rate which was estimated to take three hours, he spent almost 5 hours beautifully installing my speakers and running the wires through the wall, without charging extra. The outcome was FANTASTIC!!! I was incredibly impressed and I have been recommending him to everyone I know. My wife and I found Ted on a craigslist ad. We decided to have him initially install our LCD television because of his reasonable pricing and knowledge of what he was doing. We needed a special mounting bracket and Ted knew exactly how to install the televsion properly. Having done such a great job with that, I asked Ted if he did other electrical work as well. Turns out he does, and we have had him install several junction boxes and recessed lighting in our home. He is very attentive to detail and will make as few holes in your drywall as possible. I found Ted by looking for a local, reputable installer to do some simple wire routing in our basement. After arriving, he immediately put on shoe protectors which doesn't often happen with smaller service providers - nice touch. He had a full compliment of tools and was able to quickly assess the necessary work. He had quoted me prices via email prior, and the final bill was exactly per the estimate, no fuss. I found Ted through Craigslist. He did awesome work installing my 55" LCD over my fireplace. He showed up on time and went to work. He was very professional and cleaned up after. What I liked best was his attention to detail-- we didn't like how high the mount was the first time, so he went right back up and lowered the mount down and it was perfect--No questions asked. He also relocated a cable outlet/CAT5 for me and hid wires so it looked like there was nothing behind the tv. Ted did a fantastic job and would highly recommend him. This guy I found on craigs list and picked him because of HIs Yelp rating. Well the yelp rating did not lie. Ed is good and fast and always put his booties on whenever he walked in the house. He put my tv and dvd player up in the basement and programed everything to work on one remote a wonderfull thing, then in the family room installed a new dvd player and remote all programed ready to go. He had a problem with the programing of the remote and spent a lot of time getting it right and was determined to get it right. I am real happy with ed and would use him again. read more

Edward came out and put up 2 LCD's and a soundbar for me for a little over 300$. This was much cheaper than anyone else could do it and he was over within 4 days of me first contacting him through Craigslist. I have plaster walls so I was wary of doing the installation myself but I saw how Ed put my TV's up and I trust they will be up for the remainder of their lives. This was a perfect experience and I strongly recommend using these guys for TV installation at the least.... I cant vouch for anything else but I'd let him work on any piece of my entertainment system. read more

After submitting a request for an estimate, Ted was very quick to get back to me with a thorough list of what I would need done and how much it would cost. He was able to come to my house 2 days later, and installed my projector, screen, outlets for each, ran an HDMI cable and surround speakers in just a few hours (he hid all of the wires in the wall). He even patched the few holes he needed make in the wall and ceiling! He is very knowledgeable and professional. My new home theater looks amazing and I could not be happier! Edward has once again done a great job installing a LCD TV at our house. This is the 2nd time Ed has come over to our house to install a TV. Previously, he installed a Plasma TV in our Family Room. My entire family has used Edward to install their Flat Panel TVs due to his great work. Gave me a price on the spot over the phone which was very reasonable. I called Ted to see if he could do this on the weekend when I was available and he said no problem. He was considerate in using shoe booties before entering and immediately got to work. Ed Suvi at Dish Network did an AMAZING job mounting my 55' flat screen above my fireplace. I was able to schedule an appointment the same day I called and the entire installation took about 45 minutes. All the wires were effeciently hidden as I requested. Ed also had all necessary equipment on hand as we needed an extended cable wire for which he charged us less than retail price. I would never consider using anyone else for electrical services and plan to have Ed come back soon to install new lighting. GREAT price- GREAT service! read more
